This tank is fairly new and still looks like as it it’s been running for ages. This is a absolute beautiful piece of ocean for sure with all those SPS and eye candy. Thank you for sharing m8
Beautiful tank. For me the ‘magic sauce’ is being in tune with the tank and it’s inhabitants. Being in lockdown for the best part of 6 months I have been able to really get to know my tank :). You don’t need fancy equipment to monitor and control, but it helps as an extension of you, when you can be there all the time.

It’d have to be the Deshi. I picked up an Elegance from this store 2 weeks ago and it’s amazing! It’s gotten massive now that it’s settled in. They had an awesome carpet anemone there as well.

When i started with my tank i was aiming for high numbers of kh, calc and mag to promote growth only to run into problems with swing. Now i do the same as above at around natural sea levels with better success. great display btw

A gorgeous aquarium! At what height from the surface of the water are the lights lit? If the length of the DT is 210 cm, does it result that you have as many as 30 cm of aquarium not covered by light on each side? Sorry for my english!
no problem with your english at all! Yes, the lights do sit inside the length of the tank by 15cm at each end, but with their height (which looks to be about 35cm, there is no issue with coverage :)

@@ParkersReef To be honest there is only about 3 or 4 shops in sydney that always have a large stock of corals and also higher end coral frags. Unlike melbourne which seems to be more like a dozen stores?

Did you guys reduce the flow while taking video? It seems like no aggressive flow I would expect. Would you please tell us how is the flow settings for 3 mp40 and mp60
One thing I've struggled to grow has been gonis, I bought a glitter goni and an ultra and it's no where near his red one in his tank, is there anyway to boost their growth?
I agree lots of food (incl aminos I think) but also more flow - I think many reefers put them in too low flow - I have SPS but nothing get's blasted like the last goni I got and I would prefer my other to get more. I do though have a few hours rest period with my big gyre turned off in the evening.

Hey Doc, I'm not 100% sure but they look like Dispar Anthias to me. I'm also not sure if they are found in australian waters, I am fairly sure they are but the internet tells me indonesia (but that can often include some northern oceans around australia)

I have a hard time being impressed with a less than a year old tank. Especially one that is in a shop where they can just replace corals that die to keep the look going. I mean this guy may have the skills of an aged reefer because he has his shop, but this tank doesn’t show it. Show me this tank at 4years and then you’ve got something, but I betcha it won’t be so simple then. Great video and audio - well done!

natural levels work for me! You can accelerate growth with some higher numbers, but usually at the cost of colour

How is phosphate controlled?
Literally through corals and bio media. Amazingly simple! He ran GFO in the early days of the tank as tank before the corals filled out
Also that's not a ATI power module it's a ATI sunpower t5. The power modules like I use are t5/led combos he is using a sundowner and added leds

I think having no sand is the real secret to this tank, any amount of food can be removed.
yeah that is a fair point. Although you need to ensure you have plenty of surface area in the sump if running no sand
