  • Almost 100 civilians have been killed in the fierce fighting between army troops and paramilitary forces which has rocked the Sudanese capital Khartoum for a third day.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
Millions of terrified residents have been trapped in their homes, with many running out of food and water - while at least six hospitals have been forced to shut down.
The UN chief has called for an immediate cease fire - urging both sides to begin talks.

Dear Shannon! The government is the military general Burhan who is fighting against another Sudanese general. They are the government!! They are like two naughty boys having an after school fist fight behind the gym except they have thousands of troops to do their fighting all done in the middle of a very large city that usually is a very difficult city to live. I lived and worked there for 12 years. My heart is broken by all of this.

Dissolving the RSF by force is not going to change the fact that the Sudanese army has no intention to transfer power to a civilian-led government. The sudanese military is almost 100 years old. They created a rapid military force. To serve the army on specific requirements. These rapid forces were instigated by EU and USA to overthrow and destroy the military that created it. The west wants to get rid of our strong military and creat a weak Libyan General Hafter style or an Afghanistan weak Karazy style. This helps the west to siphon (STEAL) out our resources as they wish. So the situation is not between fighting factions...its between the military (almost 100 years old legitimate military force) and its rapid forces general.

With our severely ideologically divided population in the United States, I fear that we are headed for this here too. Civil war is looming in many other countries as well. There are over 350 million guns in the United States, many of them military grade. Most of the mlitary grade weapons are in the hands of the far right. If things keep going as they are going here we will be in another civil war here almost certainly.

I used to buy into the conspiracy theory of civil war within the US but I stopped believing that malarkey like 7 to 8 years ago. It's unrealistic and not possible. As an American we're too ignorant and too social media addicted to do something like that 😂.

Many my heart breaks for these poor innocent Sudanese ppl.
With that said, my jaw hit the floor when this man claimed that they need the West who’s the purveyors of democracy NEED to get involved asap. I mean, I’m not surprised and the West always feels a moral obligation to do whatever they can & more to intervene when the innocent citizens are the ones who suffer over these radical dictatorship regimes time & time & time again. But we’ve gotten into a point into society that despite the calls of the west to come to the rescue it always seems to eventually lead to an end result of just being used as the scapegoat & propaganda by the new regimes to blame the west for the imperfect results that are inevitable when ur dealing with humans who are offering their life as potential sacrifice YET still want to go home to their wife & children as well. And as these conflicts grag out from the West attempting to cause as minimal collateral damage as possible, eventually the results as we’ve seen over the past 1/4 century have been that as soon as west military troops regain some level of stability yet understand the full mission had to be complete otherwise the entire cause will be for little gain which results in the citizens quickly forgetting just how horribly the circumstances were just prior to the western troops arriving. And the gratefulness soon fades away into anger at the harsh realities of imperfectness of war and suddenly the mass casualties inflicted by their own ppl that requires intervention in the first place gets pushed aside for the scrutiny of the occasional yet significantly less mistakes of the innocent loss of life. And before you know it a faction of the citizens turn on the western soldieries placing the misplaced blame on the easiest scapegoats that is the western soldiers who don’t who would much rather be back home in their free country yet are committed to fighting for democracy wherever their called upon. And now faster than ever, authoritarian dictators & communist regimes are fully updated on all conflicts faster than ever before in our fully connected world. And they love nothing more than to fan the flames by gaslighting the tragedies for which western troops are involved in at the first opportunity they get. They only thing they love more is to support the same oppressors we’re attempting to free the citizens of & they would love nothing more than to use any oppty possibke to come in behind western troops offering false promises & lies that lead the ppl right back into the hands of the very evil that started the conflict.
So at this point, given the thankless mission & ultimately used in propaganda to be the scapegoat for the ones to blame & ultimately shift their anger & hatred towards the west, I think it’s just best that the countries who take the lead in intervening in any global conflicts moving forward should be reflective of nations that share a continent with the conflict zone & equally important that they’re a nation that predominantly subscribes to the same cultural norms, whether that be a shared religion like middle eastern countries take the lead on other fellow middle eastern countries when in need. Whereas the west can take a passive role from a distance & even offer up economic aid & possibly a very limited military equipment resources Pkg to assist with making the intervention come to a resolution as swiftly as possible.
Cuz one things for sure, two things for certain, nations outside the west don’t want us involved in their affairs & have a misguided hatred towards us. Never understanding the amount of devastation & sacrifice Americans have had to endure as well despite not even being our own ppl or nation under attack yet we’ve lost so much as well.
And lastly, Americans have increasingly wanted nothing to do with involvement for many of the reasons I’ve stated. To sacrifice so much, even if you survive ur never the same after going through such experiences. I think there’s a belief that somehow we’re built differently & capable of just forgetting about it or even worse that we take pleasure in it. So given all the anger and hatred expressed all over social media aimed at American civilians for trying to do the right thing in the bigger picture, I think it should be a pretty mutual agreement both sides can agree to, that America’s role moving forward should actually be taking a step back & offering expertise but not direct intervention unless the scale of conflict absolutely demands our troop involvement. No Americans want to go out their lives on the line or send their children into hostile environments only to be killed and then in the end blamed & criticized as the evil ones despite never even needing to enter another’s territory if the evil hadn’t already arrived on these ppls front doorsteps.
Again, I just couldn’t believe this guy being interviewed, ESPECIALLY considering the expressed hatred of America & the west in that specific nation & overall region. But now want our sacrifices & resources to fight their battles against their own kind who time and time again have no problem showing their evil & lack of care for their own ppl.
