When someone is going through what LFG is.. its important to still live your life and experience as many things as you can and do the things that make you happy with the people that are most important to you. People are supporting LFG whether it be through views, money, and of course prayers and im sure in many other ways. How and what his family does with donations or any other form of support is up to them. I think it is great that LFG is out doing the things he loves regardless of what he is going through. He could easily curl up in the corner and mope around but he is not. So when The Realist, and any of the other people that posted a comment criticizing how they are spending there money are absolutely ridiculous. I thought it was awesome when my wife said she wanted to try archery. Figured she would mess around with it and quit. No she is obsessed with archery now. We shoot probably 30 tournaments a year and travel all over the country and love every minute of it. Archery is a weird addiction you go from "Hey that looks cool maybe I should try it" to "How did I wind up with all this archery stuff so quick?" You guys will enjoy it especially OSG ! Hey Justin, use to do bow and shot gun hunting. First I got shot at during shotgun season, twice, and during bow season there are turkey hunters running all over the woods . I quit hunting. The saving thing is that during that same time period the small mouth bass are schooling up , musky are really starting to turn on ,and trout and salmon are starting to run and none of them are shooting at you . You know how you love to sniff bass? That's how I am with musky slime. Nothing like it! Get better bud , we have you in our prayers. God got your back , you still have work to do !

LFG the memory issues will get worse with the pain meds and stress! I have multiple chronic illnesses one being Chiari Malformation. Its a really messed up brain condition but any way....keeping a journal helps ALOT! There are days I forget things almost instantly. Keep your spirits up and keep uploading great videos. Archery is awesome!! Glad to see another fisherman joining the archery/bow hunting; my 3 biggest passions! Your setup is really sweet, I've never been around or shot a Darton, so I don't have an opinion. I'm a Mathews shooter myself, but most of your components are awesome, especially the sight, I really like that spot hog. The only thing I would suggest is a different rest. Everyone I know used to/shoots a QAD, and they are decent rests, but most of the people I've seen shooting them have had them fail in one way or another. Very common is for them to be very difficult to push up, making a loud click. I recommend a hamskey hybrid hunter, or other similar limb-driven rests. They eliminate some of the problems around QADs, and I believe that limb driven is a better system, because it is physically impossible to flutter or not get out of the way in time, which can happen with a cable driven system. Hope you read this, ik it's long, but good luck this season!
Should've got a bowtech reign 6. They're excellent bows. Super smooth and don't "jump" at all. Everything is adjustable, so no need to switch modules. One of the few good outdoor channels to watch anymore. Good luck
Love love love archery. I recommend trying traditional archery. Nothing like learning to shoot instinctively. I hunt with a compound but shoot traditional as much as I can. Also something that's cool and therapeutic per say is making a self bow nothing cooler than watching a stave of wood transform into something you could potentially hunt with that you made with primitive tools. A lot of work but end result is awesome. Prayers with you and your family.
Your boys set you up right. Love my QAD ultra rest and Fast Eddie from spot hogg. I can for sure say that just like bass fishing archery is a never ending addiction and learning process. Happy Hunting and enjoy the new setup.
Here's a tip from deer, elk, and bear archery hunter of many years. Get some lighted nocks. They are spendy but make it super easy to find your arrow in any light level if it passes through and if it sticks in the animal it makes it easier to track because you see the lights. Stay safe out there brother. I am praying for you.
Hunting is something I've always been interested in . I read about it in TTH all the time especially this time of year. But, I've only been once with a 12 gage slug gun . Saw one buck that morning but couldn't get close enough . Archery seems like a more natural way to hunt and a lot more stealth involved. I hope the bow situation gets worked out and get Pocahontas one too.
I love archery great way to get started into hunting. I've been shooting bows for 5 years and never lost my faith in it yet. Just a fun sport to do. OSG should definitely get a bow so that y'all can shoot together and hunt.

Hey LFG, as a fellow archery hunter it is very very fun. But make sure you ask one of those hunting buddies what you should do to keep it maintained. Also try and set your bow so those strings aren't rubbing up against anything cuz they can get frayed and snap when you draw, it's not a good experience. :) good to see you out doin im praying for you

Hey LFG, first of all I wish you well with the surgery. You've got a great attitude about it and a great support partner there with you. Yes, you're in many people's prayers, mine included. Bowhunting.... great sport. I started the cheap way, using fingers, and no sites, what I call bare bow and I fletched my own arrows. There isn't much to match the adrenaline of having to wait until deer are within 5-25 yards from you before you can attempt a shot. It will tear your nerves up. But I have to say, its so much more fun if you have a partner/pal to share/compete with. Scouting, hanging tree stands, target practicing, telling what you saw or what you missed or hit at the end of a hunt . Doing all that alone is ok, but doesn't compare to having someone to share it with. So, yes, get the girl a bow and yall enjoy it together.
Darton bows are made just around the corner from my hometown of Tawas Michigan , their headquarters are in hale. Top of the line bows that will last a lifetime
Bow attachments aren't cheap that's for sure lol. I just got a new bow from a family friend and put down $300 on a arrow rest, peep sight, forward sight, stabilizer and new arrows. I still have to get the wrist lock and quiver. I would highly suggest getting a quick release especially being new with a bow, it allows for a more quick and accurate release of the arrow. Love your videos and I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers.
Archery is really fun. Started shooting a few years ago. Best way to relive stress when you can't get out on the water. You should also try traditional archery, it's much more exciting!

Hey LFG, just wanted to make sure that you know you need to buy some bow string wax and be sure to wax the bow string about once a week or so once you start shooting it. If you don't, the string will become frayed and worn and could snap, which could seriously injure the bow or yourself. You also need to be sure to change the string out once every 1-2 years, depending on how often you shoot it to make sure it doesn't get too worn.

archery is fun, i shoot with a recurve as it needs more focus, i didn't like the compounds, found them too easy. it is an expensive sport but so worth it, welcome to the club, oh and definitely get osg one, fun family activity 😁

Loved archery 50 years ago. Will be doing it again this fall. Recurve only, old school! Great fun either target practice or hunting. How about a recurve / compound bow challenge with one of our Olympians? If they can't make it I can provide comic relief😅

Love ur videos and archery is an Awsome sport.. Me and my 3 kids 3yr,5yrs,and 13yrs old all shoot traditional archery and just like fishing it becomes part of your life. It's a great activity that not only brings you and ur hunting buddies an family together it's a great way to meet lots of new people... We are lucky we have a group called strictly sticks traditional archers (look us up on Facebook) that shoots every week by our house and holds 3D shoot over the winter months. I have met lots of great people shooting and it's always a fun adventure..

Great to hear you are adding bow hunting. I live in Illinois which as many know has historically been great for whitetail hunting. However, over the past couple years EHD has hurt the numbers in certain areas. Bass fishing hear around the St. Louis area is ok but not like Texas. If you are ever in the area maybe we could meet up to do some bow fishing. OSG wouldn't appreciate you taken the new bow out to fish but used bows work just fine. Prayers for you brother. i personally love archery and that is why i do competitive archery. and to what you said earlier about how it is expensive i completely agree especially wantyou get into buying high end bows that cost close to 1500 dollars
As long as nothing serious happens, forgetfulness can be funny. Yes! Definitely make Willis a target! Archery is fun, only have done it once, but it's another perfect thing to keep occupied!
I love Archery. It takes you back to a time before firearms and takes skill and practice. It's something that you can always improve. I don't see why OSG shouldn't give it a try if she wants to!
2500 is your average purchase of a rigged bow set-up. archery is very therapeutic and shooting long range is great practice to learn where you need to work on form. My wife shoots and hunts with me with the bow. At first it took her a while to build confidence in shooting the bow while sighting it in. She now enjoys it and it creates a good activity to do together. Once you both get comfortable and confident making it a little challenge between each other can be fun.
I love, love, love shooting my recurve! Don't use it for hunting, it's strictly a target bow. But it's so therapeutic. Helps with my anxiety cause I have to control my breathing. Oh, ya I want that mini red bow. That is sweet!!

I feel it with you, seems that not being in current time (the NOW), having the mind too much in the past or future, one tends to lose/forget things. I lost a ring (forever), and I left the door open to my storage unit this month. Thankfully the office manager closed it for me while I was fishing and left me a phone message about it. DOH! archery is fun, i shoot with a recurve as it needs more focus, i didn't like the compounds, found them too easy. it is an expensive sport but so worth it, welcome to the club, oh and definitely get osg one, fun family activity 😁

Loved archery 50 years ago. Will be doing it again this fall. Recurve only, old school! Great fun either target practice or hunting. How about a recurve / compound bow challenge with one of our Olympians? If they can't make it I can provide comic relief😅
Most important thing is make sure your upper body is in a perfect relaxed "T" shaped form! Good luck and start off learning and mastering the release!! I love archery! Fishing and Archery! My two favorite hobbies!
Love ur videos and archery is an Awsome sport.. Me and my 3 kids 3yr,5yrs,and 13yrs old all shoot traditional archery and just like fishing it becomes part of your life. It's a great activity that not only brings you and ur hunting buddies an family together it's a great way to meet lots of new people... We are lucky we have a group called strictly sticks traditional archers (look us up on Facebook) that shoots every week by our house and holds 3D shoot over the winter months. I have met lots of great people shooting and it's always a fun adventure..

Great to hear you are adding bow hunting. I live in Illinois which as many know has historically been great for whitetail hunting. However, over the past couple years EHD has hurt the numbers in certain areas. Bass fishing hear around the St. Louis area is ok but not like Texas. If you are ever in the area maybe we could meet up to do some bow fishing. OSG wouldn't appreciate you taken the new bow out to fish but used bows work just fine. Prayers for you brother. i personally love archery and that is why i do competitive archery. and to what you said earlier about how it is expensive i completely agree especially wantyou get into buying high end bows that cost close to 1500 dollars

I love Archery. It takes you back to a time before firearms and takes skill and practice. It's something that you can always improve. I don't see why OSG shouldn't give it a try if she wants to!

archery is very therapeutic and shooting long range is great practice to learn where you need to work on form.
My wife shoots and hunts with me with the bow. At first it took her a while to build confidence in shooting the bow while sighting it in. She now enjoys it and it creates a good activity to do together. Once you both get comfortable and confident making it a little challenge between each other can be fun.
I love, love, love shooting my recurve! Don't use it for hunting, it's strictly a target bow. But it's so therapeutic. Helps with my anxiety cause I have to control my breathing. Oh, ya I want that mini red bow. That is sweet!!
