I just got here from a different reader. I restarted the book 3 times because I couldn’t focus on the story, and let me tell you, you made it one of the best books I’ve listened to!!
I got the book a few years ago as a gift cause I wanted to read the real story of the strange case of dr Jekyll and mr Hyde, sadly I couldn’t get into it and the struggle of reading from dyslexia just made me put it down and never went back to it and even give it to my sister as she read it a long time ago and enjoyed it. I would hate to ask someone to read for me but finding your channel makes me happy, I could enjoy this book finally and even enjoyed your reading of Dracula as I reread it every October and felt like listening to it since my book was falling apart and have to wait till Christmas for a new one since the book was snatched from my hand since I expressed interest in something gift-able. I’m glad to of been able to enjoy literature that I struggled to read myself thank you for your reading.
Hey there! 👋🦊 So no new Drac' chapter last week as I've been glued to my PC every waking hour to finish this little surprise! - Sure, a day or two later than I had hoped... but here is my SPOOKY SEASON offering to the dark spirits, or well, at least to all of you out there... 😉🎶 At a little over 3 hours I felt that this complete audiobook was a bit too long for a Premiere (although I was tempted!), but I would love you to give my interpretation of this infamous classic a listen and let me know what you think of it in the comments. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this one! STAY FOXY Your Red Fox - Steven
Thank you Steven for the Halloween surprise. I had never read or heard this in the original text and some of the adaptions are bad.So thank you. Your voice is vary good to listen too as well.
Steven, this is one of my favourite books.I really enjoy the English prose of this time.Thank you so much for doing this. Am three quarters through. Am savouring bits instead of finishing it all at once. Please keep the great work.
@@redfoxvoice Yes, you know, with your accent, and the artistic touches you add with music and sound effects to set the mood, I think you could make a masterpiece of Dorian Gray. I love your work, and the minute I can get a hold of any extra money, I will definitely be supporting you, but for now at least I'm subscribing.
Holy Cow!! That was awesome! This story is deeply ingrained in pop culture but I've never heard the original before. I loved going on the journey of discovery with the lawyer...even though I knew that Jekyll and Hyde were the same person I was still surprised. I really enjoyed Jekyll's letter explaining his thoughts on the formation of Hyde and why he's so malformed and small. Which...that in itself was a surprise...cartoons and shows when I was growing up showed them opposite with Hyde being a robust large cave man type. Super interesting!! Great pick!! ❤
@@redfoxvoice Ahhhh!! Yes it has been a minute, huh?!? So much has happened...changing jobs...started homeschooling my 6 year old girl. In fact I was just thinking of starting a literature series where we explore The Secret Garden. I was just thinking of you!! So funny how that happens...well good Sir...your voice very soon will be featured as her first audio book where we'll be following along. I've got to get some audio book time in somehow these days! ❤😁👍
I feel the same way. I knew the basic premise, but I've never read it. It really is excellent, and Stephen does an amazing job. That musical piece at the end of each chapter is just perfection as well. It is perfect not only for the story, but for the time period.
Your tone is extremely nice and your speech is clear enough for a foreigner like me to understand! I already loved the secret garden, and i can't wait for your other projects as well!
I was anticipating this audiobook since I saw the community post! I couldn't wait so now I have impulsively started reading which I've never done before. There's a first for everything I guess 💙 From what I heard (and I know the rest is too) your amazing voice acting fits greatly in addition to the background music; it creates a mysterious atmosphere that draws me in and piques my curiosity. Like how Mr Utterson is curious about Mr Hyde!
steven, my friend, (I hope I can refer to you that way although we don't know each other:). I needed a book that would calm me down and keep my mind off of things. I was given a bad diagnosis, just a few days ago, and am still adjusting, and coming to terms with it, and not sleeping. I am counting on your soothing voice to try to keep my thoughts away from the future and fear, even if but for a few hours ( This is probably my 6th or 7th time listening to this) Anyone who would be willing to do a good, kind deed for a stranger, please say a prayer for me or send me good wishes and positive energy to keep going. Steven, your work for some of us may just seem to you as simple narration, but being alone with your fear can really be "the dark night of the soul", and you are so much more to people in my position. Just being able to hear a friendly voice, during the long dark nights, sometimes can keep fear at bay. Thank you a million, Steven. I will be doing my will in the next few weeks, and hope to leave you something in great gratitude for the midnite hours you have helped me through. With many thanks and much respect.
Thank you so very much for your immensely moving message to my son Steven. Please be assured that you are not alone! We in the Fox Family as Steven's listeners like to think of themselves, know the value of that soothing voice in the night 🌙 Perhaps it is because Seven has had trying times of his own that he is able to touch the hearts of others through his reading. I am sitting now in our little summerhouse here in Yorkshire, looking at my own garden and thinking of you . 💕 Love and prayers 🙏 Mamma Fox
Thank you, Steven. I have never read this story (don't know why), so now I will get all the benefit of Stevenson's suspenseful storytelling, as well as your skillful voice narration. Stay well, regards to Maria as always.
Whoaaa I was just looking for this book + audiobook the other day as I wanted to read & listen along. Surprised & glad to see the notification that you did this book🎉
@@jangarnett858 I started listening to it earlier today! Sounds great. His voice goes perfect with it. How incredible it's around an 18 hour listen. I had no idea the book was so hefty. I searched around TH-cam and his audiobook seems to be the best listen. The other ones have sound effects that interrupt our imaginations or the audio quality of the readers are poorly recorded.
Just an extra note, Great reading so far, Really helping me get through studying for my final exam I have in a few days! Considering I have the book in front of me while listening, and for those that are detailed readers, and looking for special moments that lead to symbolic interpretations, the reader made a slight mistake at the start of chapter 6. The mistake was merely a singular word. I will give the sentence and then I shall also give the word of which he messed up a bit, It is in fact quite similar. "Time ran on, thousands of pounds were offered in reward, for the death of Sir Danvers was resented as a public injury" The reader, and I by no means judge him for this simple mistake, said ''inquiry'' instead of ''injury'', but then again Inquiry means ''an official investigation'' which can also be correct. I in no means judge or try to be rude toward the reader, I'm just stating an observation I have made. Thank you for the read good Sir, I thank you once more.
Your storytelling skills are amazing. First dracula, then secret garden of which I enjoyed every second, this is my third favorite. Different voices for all characters, fitting theme music and clear reading, everything is well done. I love your audiobooks. They help me cheer up and relax in the gloomy era of 'Unexpected return of Covid-19'.
(Just finished listening) Well, I feel disquieted, but not in a bad way; this story feels more tragic than horrific to me. I'm beginning to think that *if* it's 'Classic Gothic' I actually enjoy the horror genre. (never thought I did before) And have therefore steered pretty clear, never really separating the concepts of stories and characters -- like this and that of Dracula -- as portrayed by modern culture, from the original work, and so not giving them a chance until now. P.S. it's always a treat to get the full audiobook dropped at once! 🦊📖🎧☕
Mr Garnett, you could read the menu of a greasy spoon cafe and make it sound riveting. Forget TV and social media shite, nothing helps me chill after a hard day on the road than an hour or so of your sublime narration of this timeless story. Dracula next. Thank you.
You are literally saving my life with this got an exam on Jekyll and Hyde in two days, don’t have time to read it again, and can’t remember a single thing about it 😅

@@redfoxvoice thank you for the reply! I ended up finding what I needed. Stay safe and healthy!
