    The flowers are likely to be black petunias, very easy to grow summer annuals, very common.

    Hey Adi and Myra, I discovered your channel very recently and immediately subscribed looking at the quality of content you’re producing. Finished watching the EBC series and thoroughly enjoyed it. I enjoyed the slow but still engaging pace you keep in your videos, that’s something I’ve struggled and tried in my videos but mostly go for a mix depending on the situation. Looking forward to the next vid of Tour Blanc, keep up the good work 😊

    Walking through those small towns, I remember thinking that the traditional architecture along the way was similar in Fr, IT and SZ, as if they culturally blended along the borders.
    Probably because of the availability of similar building materials and similar climate.

    Nice video, trip, landscape. This was a really long hike. My experience with long hikes is that I keep a steady pace without stopping until more than 50% - like 2/3rd or 3/5th - of the distance and until that chosen point, don't look at the time. Just keep going. After each pause it seems to become increasingly difficult to get going and keep going.

    • @LetsMeetAbroad
      @LetsMeetAbroad  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is very true, however, we have to stop every 10-15 mins to film otherwise it would literally take us almost 30% less time to finish it. Everytime you pick up your packs after stopping, it feels way heavier hahaha

      @@LetsMeetAbroad - place camera, walk out of frame, walk back, collect camera. If you were hiking alone, you would walk the distance twice. Do alternate in being subject and camera operator? I guess that's what we see.

    Great video you two! I love that every village you stay in, in Switzerland, it has a lot of cheese for breakfast and dinner. Yum! Reason enough to go right there. :)

    It's hard to tell from the video but the black flowers might be chocolate cosmos or black hellebore! If you ever come across chocolate cosmo's smell them, it's divine!

    Ha-ha, 'let's use the shortcut'. How familiar! I almost stopped doing this (because more often than not these shortcuts would be quite dangerous and I spend more time negotiating them than if I were to take official trail), but still sometimes can't help myself (and pay for it accordingly ))) ). When walking with bare legs in the tall grass nettle would be the least of your concerns. I'm glad you didn't catch any ticks (I did a full course of TBE vaccination before going hiking and always either walk in trousers if there is tall grass or - when it's too hot like it was this year - immediately check myself after walking through grass). The food (like everything else including fuel) is most likely delivered to the refuge by the helicopter (part of the reason why the stay is so expensive even though conditions are basic). Regarding the small doors in the houses it was a very funny comment ))) People were not THAT short several centuries ago. It's a basement/ground floor of what seems like a barn, so was most likely used as a crawl space/storage/to shelter animals. You don't need full height door for that :) Looking forward to the next episodes!

    Hello! We started watching your videos recently, we love em! My wife and I are doing a similar hike in the Swiss alps in a few months, were both vegans and were curious if you were able to order veg meals while at the hut or did you have to order ahead before u got there?

    In that old house, the door was small not because the people where so small (they where smaller than today, but no so small). One of the reason why those doors where small is because in winter, a small door means less heat losses. There are sure other reasons too, but in the mountains you find often small doors and windows for that reason.

      Yes we for sure met other hikers! It's one of the most famous trekkings in Europe, so it can be busy! We saw quite some people doing it alone, but it's really easy to meet other people in the evenings 😄
