- Ryan Kirby of Fit For a King shares about the struggle of wanting someone to date, the time when he succumbed to a period of drinking, and what it took to move past his fear being around other people.
Jake Luhrs of August Burns Red started an online non-profit called HeartSupport to give his fans a place to talk about and overcome their struggles. His vision is to unite the scene--fans and bands alike--so that no one in the music scene has to struggle alone.

My friend and I saw Fit For A King play live with August Burns Red 2 weeks ago and we ran into him as he was on his way to the Merch table after his setlist ended. My friend said something because he got all happy to see him. My friend stuck his hand out for a hand shake. Ryan did not shake his hand but instead gave him a hug.
Iv'e played COD with him on steam, and of course been to FFAK shows. He really is an awesome guy.
I know right. After they got done playing he went down to the merch table here in AZ and I took a picture of him and my little bro then I went to shake his hand and he turned it into a bro hug. I didn't know what else to say but, "I love your guys' music! Thank you!" I'm extremely introverted so I could relate to what Ryan's talking about; that's also why I didn't have anything better to say at the time :(

I'm 19, Almost 20 and feel the same way Kirby did about finding a girlfriend (the one) It hurts being rejected and feeling like you're not good looking enough, smart enough, cool enough. It sucks but I'm giving it to God rather than being depressed all the time.

I'm not 18 years old but I feel this at some points cause I've grew-up differently, I'm from a really dark place and I'm fucking afraid to do the same things that bring me to my misery at a lot of peoples in particularity for example a girlfriends.

Great interview! Just one quick tip, the audio. The background sounds took over some times so think about the location you are shooting the interview in. And also it was really hard to hear your voice so either if you move the mic to you when you are asking a question or that you record over your own voice afterwards. But other vise, great interview :)

That's exactly what I'm going through right now and I'm just barely finding my place in God and the only thing I can do is trust HIm in knowing what he's doing to better myself first with HIm and wait for the right guy to come along when its his perfect timing. I don't really want to think too much about it because I may not be alive tomorrow or the next day. I'd rather live like if I were dying.

Shame, I must be confusing myself with another Ryan and another situation. Or I must have nothing better to do than invent a lie.
That's funny. In high school, my girlfriend and I were at a church event and she invited him since they became friends earlier in the year. I remember at one point of the evening he and his friend were trying to convince my girlfriend to ditch the church event and sneak off to a party where people were drinking. Clearly had zero concern for the fact she had a boyfriend.

But do you understand why no one believes you? Because what you're saying is so fucking inconsistent with the stories of others. So much so that your story breaches absurdity.
Atsunijo I made a comment on a video that is obviously going to be more one sided as far as popularity goes. Of course Ryan's fans are going to pick his side, it's a video about him for his fans to check out. It's absurd to think all of these guys in Christian bands are perfect or that they're humble 24/7, that they don't stumble or haven't. Listen to Agraceful and then go listen to Like Moths to Flames and tell me something isn't up. The absurdity here is you thinking you know someone because you're a fan of their music, meet them once on a tour, or lurk a few videos on youtube. There's more to a human being than what is shown on that small face value.
But at what point did I claim to be a fan of their music? At what point did I specifically defend Mr. Kirby, when I was only explaining why no one believes you? At what point did I claim that he is perfect or humble 24/7? And whatever those things you listed are completely irrelevant. I'm not saying that Mr. Kirby is incapable of doing some wrong or sinister, I'm, instead, telling you that your claim is highly-- here's the word again-- "inconsistent" with the claims of others. It's an easy thing to step back and look at: 10 people claim 1 thing, but 1 person claims 1 thing amidst the other 10. You realize that, even if it were true, and that you had the right person, that you could never convince anyone anyways, correct?
