Test drive a scrambler icon and I love everything about it. I did look out for that heat thingy you guys mentioned but it wasn't there and I'm in the Philippines at 1pm scorching heat at that time.
Lower octane fuel doesn't have to be compressed as much before ignition which means there's less energy there and thus less heat. At least I believe that's how it goes.
Lower octane gas causes pinging when an air cooled bike gets too hot. Octane is the resistance to detonation, a hotter bike will cause detonation on low octane fuel.
It's actually the opposite. Octane represents the fuel's capacity to not auto-ignite (which can destroy an engine). The higher it is, the better it is at it. If your bike runs hot, the fuel is more likely to auto-ignite. That's why higher octane fuel could help if your bike runs hot. It won't cool the bike or anything, but it will prevent detonation. The usual upgrades if your bike runs hot is a bigger/better radiator and/or a fan, but it can be tricky to install depending on the bike.

Just rented an urban enduro on TR last week. Lots of character, but very short range and felt like wind sail anything past 65, which is a necessity in Texas. It really needs an analog tach, better pegs, and a beefier rear shock. All things fixed on the Sled, so agree, don’t get one unless it’s a sled. Well fast forward a few months and we've just got back from riding 2-up on my Icon, and it's every bit as awesome as I thought it was going to be 😎☕ Thanks for the never-ending infos and entertainment 👍👍👍
Don't laugh but this thing really reminds me of my early 70's Yamaha 360 enduro. I spent teen years roaming the Arizona desert, between school, work and home. I know how different they are, but it just looks like I could have as much fun on it as my RT1. P.S. 1st bike I ever rode was a 1961 Ducati 250 just like the one pictured in this video.

I have a monster 800 I.E. (same power plant basically) and I love it so much. I'd like to ride a scrambler and see what the equivalent feels like 17 years later.
I owned the 1000S ie 2003 model. The latest 1100 version of that engine in the new scrambler is tame by comparison. Probably due to emission regulations. Not sure about the 800s.
@@drewiediggler1 scrambler 800 puts out the same power figures. Idk if the same is true for the 1000, but the FI on the early I.E. models was primitive and that certainly contributes to the 800 feeling 'raw'

CHOICE for icy roads too. Yammies do most of the time:) My monster 800 rules over all. Most reliable too!!??? Yeah. IDK wtf either.... Buy one my fellow yamsters! And smile. Never look back
Wow just was debating on whether or not I should buy one today, and this video is what pops into my recommended...very nice TH-cam algorithm...very nice...HIGHLY SUSPECT! Anyways nice vid yammie, it gives me more to ponder. But seriously is the Desert Sled your only non-meme recommendation?
I had the urban Enduro when they first came to Australia , I got mine in 2016. Took it LOTS off road , but was disappointed in suspension travel ,tank size .& carrying capacity ( due to pipe on one side ) was not the best bike for long trips - also the seat was like a plank of timber ( I did get suspension & seat done - plus small screen and other stuff ) , I think it’s more of a super moto - in the twisties and a day tripper bike . But if the desert sled was out at the time that’s what I would have got - it would have solved all but the fuel capacity problem.
Dropped off my R nineT for service the other day, and I'm pretty stoked to report they had a Ducati Scrambler 1100 for me to use as a loaner. It was sick, but I still prefer my BMW, despite the fact that she's a heavy bitch in comparison.
at least the BMW won't break down. I'm struggling to see why anyone buys there extremely expensive bikes other than "just because Ducati's are cool, no?"
As a Ducati Scrambler owner in Texas, it’s air cooled heart on a summer day gives me my daily dose of sadomasochism. Stockholm Syndrome for the win. (P.S. next time your in DFW drop a line Yam, my Cafe Racer needs to meet it’s Desert sibling.) #ScramblerStrong
its a beautiful bike..... but the real question is Is it reliable like the XSR? Can you ride that thing all over Asia and not worry about breaking down and finding parts?

@@doomsday9790 I like that bike a lot - not available here (Mexico) but it's a nice machine and I would strongly consider it. Not cheap - but nice!
5:07 346 cc single not 436 cc single Lol love the videos!! Thanks for always keeping things entertaining!
excessive heat, valve issues, side stand sensor, clutch - common symptoms include "Ducati" on the fuel tank. "Premium" manufacturer.
Symptoms of premium-ness
I watched your first Scrambler video about a billion times as I was taking my test in the UK and looking to get a Scrambler. It got to the point that my wife would lose her shit if she so much as heard the word "torquey!". Well fast forward a few months and we've just got back from riding 2-up on my Icon, and it's every bit as awesome as I thought it was going to be 😎☕
Thanks for the never-ending infos and entertainment 👍👍👍
Don't laugh but this thing really reminds me of my early 70's Yamaha 360 enduro. I spent teen years roaming the Arizona desert, between school, work and home. I know how different they are, but it just looks like I could have as much fun on it as my RT1. P.S. 1st bike I ever rode was a 1961 Ducati 250 just like the one pictured in this video.
These stock videos are potent fuel for overwhelmingly haunting nightmares.
Mr. Noob, was that Bach's Cello Suite no. 1 in G Major in the background?
No, I do not want a Ducati Scrambler.. because I bought one last week. What a rad little motorcycle this is.
Taking a Ducati off-road is like actually going diving with a water-proof Rolex. Just buy a KTM dirt bike; they're frickin' awesome.
SO GLAD YOU ARE DUCATISTI...! I knew if you ever spent time on a Ducati you would Love them... & join us...!!
2018 Ducati Hypermotard 939 SP is my baby... my favorite vehicle of my Life...❤️
Hey rider !!! Ducati guy here !!! I have had 3 , 900ss ST2 and my .multistrada. 446.000 miles on them SO FAR !!! 😎😎😎😎😎😄😄😄😄🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
When I ride , I wear a shirt that reads " THE BEST THING IN THE HARLEY SHOP WINDOW IS THE REFLECTION OF MY DUCATI" 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😎😎😎😎😎🍺🍺🍺🍺
got myself a desert sled today 😎
I have a monster 800 I.E. (same power plant basically) and I love it so much. I'd like to ride a scrambler and see what the equivalent feels like 17 years later.
I owned the 1000S ie 2003 model. The latest 1100 version of that engine in the new scrambler is tame by comparison. Probably due to emission regulations. Not sure about the 800s.
@@drewiediggler1 scrambler 800 puts out the same power figures. Idk if the same is true for the 1000, but the FI on the early I.E. models was primitive and that certainly contributes to the 800 feeling 'raw'
This is like a late night show, but instead of news and politics, it's all about motorbikes.
Great video papa yam... didn't hear a number for clutch maintenance and replacement at a dealership..care to share with us squids?
Look up Henry Crew! Youngest person to go round the world on a bike and he did it on a god damn Desert Sled
I have the 2024 icon in red, This bike is the best.
Sup yammie! Only reliable bike in my fleet of six bikes was the Ducati. You know what!!? When it's 24 degrees in the Colorado mountains. Only bike I KNOW will always start and down to ride. CHOICE for icy roads too. Yammies do most of the time:) My monster 800 rules over all. Most reliable too!!??? Yeah. IDK wtf either.... Buy one my fellow yamsters! And smile. Never look back
New generation of Scramblers at 6:00.
Thank you
Bought a Sled as my first bike. Never looked back on that choice for a second...
So, it is a good first bike? Because i was gonna go sixty2 because I’ve never had a motorcycle but i really love the sled. 🥺👉🏾👈🏾
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO YAMMIE NOOB!!!
1 QUESTION?
HOW OFTEN DO YOU HAVE TO SERVICE THE VALVES, AND HOW MUCH DOES THAT COST???
7500mi on the owners manual. Cost is about whole day.. or 2 of your time or call your dealer and ask.
Which one is best for beginner
Do a "so you want a Ninja H2" vid plz.
My grandpa has 6 of the classic "unicorn" scramblers
Picked up a scrambler 1100 for $7350 this past February, one mile on the odo, get the 1100 (for a good deal)
If overheating is a known issue, why for the love of motorcycles does Ducati make air-cooled bikes?
R&D costs paid for
Just turned over an aspiring squidlet to this channel. Sharing the addiction.
The 62...in red ....is the best looking scrambler....it needs the 1262 Testastretta motor....🔥🔥
Do these require more $ to upkeep in the long run than a triumph?
A lot of bike for the buck especially for Italian. Power is plenty.
If he sticks with this sponsor will he be Yammie Pube?
Based on look and seat height , my go to bike is the ducati icon , its my dream second bike
its a beautiful bike..... but the real question is Is it reliable like the XSR? Can you ride that thing all over Asia and not worry about breaking down and finding parts?
I got a hypermotard and I'm almost ready to scramble
Good luck with that amigo ;-/
@Randolph Dube con: currently set up for street use, no protection, or off road tires.
Pro: Torque for days! I got my protection on it's way, and my tires are next.
The Scrambler 1100 seems more closer to an adv rather than a scrambler. Lol
Yo Yammie what's with the odd shade you're throwing towards the most amazing bestest most excellent bike ever made? Obviously I'm talking about the Streetfighter V4S.
it's so far from the best bike to buy in that category, it's literally laughable.
@@Bamwich Nah, Its absolutely the best. One of the most complete motorcycles ever made. The only thing "wrong" with it is its too "expensive". This is coming from someone who owns the Super Duke R.
Houze I’ve had 4 mates buy Ducati’s over the years.. and they have all had major issues. Luckily, the issues were inside of warranty.. still maybe reliability doesn’t make it into your “most complete bike” but it does for me. Especially when the competition are doing it much much better.
Houze it’s also less powerful, weighs more, stops worse, not the best suspension, the list goes on.. and I was avoiding things that could seem as subjective to an opinion like looks and sound...
@@Bamwich stops worse? Literally has the best brake system. Less powerful? 208hp > 178. Why are you embarrassing yourself by spouting bs?
Within 2 months of having my sled, it was upside down in a stream.
Hell yeah send it brotha
Ya so?????? Off road shit happens.
I love my Sled and want to use it offroad more, but I'm having difficulty getting suspension settings recommendations. I weigh 80 kilos. Any ideas?
I'm sure a Ducati dealer could help you with that.
Having to choose between the Desert Sled and a Hypermotard 950, which one would you go for? I have never ridden off-road and if I would it will be gravel roads. I’ll use the bike to commute as well as recreational.
I know, very different bikes, if I could afford them both I wouldn’t be asking :)
I would go for the hypermotard 🤣
Love the looks of it and its more suited for my daily speedy commutes
I love the scrambler too tho
@@NoFaceNoNameee thanks! At the end I had a regular Scrambler for a little while, then a Hypermotard for a month and finally a Sports Classic GT1000. All of them great motorbikes, being the GT1000 my favorite by far. The Hyper is mental though, I just couldn’t behave on it :)
Can you make a video about ducati v2 as well? Great video btw🔥
Hey papa its me again watching your godly videos as usual
you need to do comparison between CB650R and XSR700 please !!!!
At the end with the video suggestion, I felt pressured to click the link.
