how often to you have to take everything out and vacuum?? I would go pit boss 1150 but they are having problems.. i wish there was an ash cleanout mod for the Austin XL
I usually clean out every two or three cooks. Cleaning out the fire pot will only take a minute once you do it a few times. Have fun!
Don’t believe everything you read. Things are always subjective and always change.
Did you remove the deflector plate?
Nope! The heat deflector helped a lot in making sure this guy ran so long and so good.
Why was there a massive pile of unlit pellets in the firepot?
He ran for 145 hours straight... never shut off. Eventually on any pellet grill your fire pot is going to get too full of ash to perform and it will flame out. When you have a flame out, all the controller knows is you're losing temp so it keeps feeding pellets therefore that's why there are all the pellets in the fire pot.
