Just found your account and i love it! Started with photography a year ago and only now getting deeper into older lenses and the looks of it. Stunning pictures and an amazing attiude! Keep it up, happy to join in on your Journey.
Thank you, and welcome aboard . I have yet to organize playlists . But there are over 450 videos featuring all kinds of vintage and modern cameras the newest being a Nikon D810. All formats from 35 to medium and 4x5 large .
Wow! You got some great shots. I am particularly amazed at the dynamic range you captured in those difficult lighting situations you managed to get detail in all those tricky highlights. . Very good work! Thank you.
Thank you once again, Terry . We have to enjoy because it's here for 6 months . Hahaha. I'm really leaning hard towards straight photography and minimalizing the AI manipulation of my photography. I'm slowly working towards a darkroom. Recently I've noticed lightroom is becoming like photoshop . It's gone way beyond dodging and burning .
@daveruskphotography yes Dave I don't know how you can go outside to take photos in the cold....I am sitting inside in a pair of shorts as it was 36c yesterday (last night only 20c minimum) a little cooler tomorrow.... cheers 😀
I tend to shoot Leica and the same pretty much applies. I use the same old (pre digital era) lenses on both my film and digital cameras. Totally agree with what you are saying.
As you said and others have commented, that dynamic range is fantastic. I haven't really played around with B&W on digital before now, but I think it's time to set up a custom setting in my D750 (thanks for the inspiration!), and to get my 200 f4 AI'd! I keep hoping to find a conversion ring for it (Kamerastore in Finland usually has several in stock) but just haven't been able to track down the right one yet. Fingers crossed...
The lens was a pre AI q-c 200 f4 . I find a lot of mint stuff in Japan. I'm noticing on my D850. I don't get 14 stops at iso 64 . But at iso 100 and up to 400, it's amazing. Just don't clip the highlights .
@@daveruskphotography Mine is and old, old one... it's actually a 20cm, not 200mm. Also sourced from Japan - unless I find something locally, that's where most of my gear is found these days. Goes nicely with my 10.5cm 2.5! Apparently the problem is that Nikon never did issue conversion kits for the really early lenses. After renewing my search this morning, I came across a guy in the UK that does the conversions by machining away the inside of the aperture ring at an angle so that the lens can mount and meter properly, but externally the ring appears unchanged. An interesting option. Added bonus is I only need to ship the ring, not the whole lens. So I think the ring from this lens as well as my 135 2.8 and 35 2.8 will be heading his way soon. Thanks again for getting me thinking about my pre-AI lenses. 👍
@cangooner I've seen failures . For me now I only buy older coated one hence q-c h-c but I don't need conversions . Plus soon I'm feeling an F2 coming to me on a red sleigh. I'll get viewfinders to run both .
@@daveruskphotography The F2 is a beaut! So much so that I'm on Sover Wong's waitlist to get a viewfinder (DP-3) serviced. Don't really *need* the meter, but really *want* it to work as intended. 😀
You are a true craftsman in the art of photography! I have a Nikon F, F4 and a Nikkormat EL for my Nikon vintage glass!
Thank you so much . Those are great cameras .

@cangooner yes it's been 2 years in the planning .
Wonderful and I do not sit thru 40 pic ever except now.
