Sure, I can add render times and test multiple tracks. Overall you should be looking at 16-32GB of RAM and good single and multicore performance, which most gaming laptop have above $1000
Most gaming laptops have a sufficient CPU for music production, the thing to worry about is RAM and storage especially if you have a lot of sound files in your database
Sooo this one doesn't have MUX switch, but is G-sync compatible and doesn't have free-sync? I have no idea what that means. I thought that in order to have G-sync it should have mux switch
I should clarify that this doesn't have "Advanced Optimus" which is a MUX switch accessible through Nvidia Control Center. It does have a MUX switch, however, by accessing the BIOS. Changing that to discreet GPU (Max Performance) Mode will disable G-Sync because the monitor is only connected via the iGPU. In comparison, most other laptops with G-Sync will only work with G-Sync when you activate Discreet GPU Mode.
I’m confused if I should get the 3060 or 3070ti for m15 r7.. The price difference is roughly $300 and I game occasionally… Just buying for daily use and few softwares

Hey man thanks for the professional and in-depth review! I was just wondering compare thickness wise, is the m15 similar in thickness as the G15?
The rear part is a bit thiccer but overall similar thiccness
Have you used the alienware laptop for music production? I haven't seen too many reviews. I'm close to purchasing one maybe even the Area 51.

If you are going to play newer and Raytraced/RTX-enabled titles, 3070 is the sure bet - otherwise save your money and stick with the 3060.

You don´t recommend the gigabyte (aorus/aero...) because you've never tested or is it bad?
I've never tested it because there are just too many others I'd rather have! Perhaps if they added a QHD option I'd buy one
