    How about those small bottle brushes or those go-between teeth cleaners? I use them to clean the fountain for my cats, they should be able to get the build-up out and then you can wipe it down and dry it with the paper towels.

      Good idea.

    • @neelubird
      @neelubird 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was about to suggest the same thing. They're called interdental brushes here in the UK and can get into those awkward spaces.

    Thanks! What’s the bottom of the cage look like? Is it completely flat?

    • @KiwiandPixel
      @KiwiandPixel  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not quite flat, but it's not hard to clean, either. It's a molded plastic base under the grate.

    Dumb question: Do you let them out while deep cleaning the cage or do you simply work around them? Also, in regards to wooden perches, I was always told to make sure they are good and dry, otherwise the dampness could hurt their feet. Is that true?

    • @KiwiandPixel
      @KiwiandPixel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know about damp perches. I mean, they ordinarily live in the wild where branches can be wet. But yes, we leave them in the cages OR let them roam the room while deep cleaning.

    Visions cages are safe for canaries? I think wire spacing is kinda big for canaries to stay indoor

    I’ve been watching the manufacturers video too of this cage and the door ‘open’ inwards to create a landing platform so you you don’t have to shepherd them in when they land in the doorway. Does this work please?
    Thanks. Lovely birds. Mine is ready from breeder in 2 days. Can’t wait. Just wondering if I should upgrade to one of these cages. Xx

    • @KiwiandPixel

    Is the larger cage with the wider bar spacing safe for the budgie? I want this cage but want the larger one for our budgies. I worry the bar spacing width is too much?

    • @KiwiandPixel
      @KiwiandPixel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The larger cage has the same spacing. Vision makes one with larger spacing for bigger birds. Make sure you get the one with 1/2” spacing.

    • @KiwiandPixel

      Territorial behavior! Pixel (the blue one) won't leave Kiwi (the green one) alone if they're kept in the same cage. When we first got them, we had planned to put them together, but they're actually happier in separate cages.

    I never understood why they put food containers on bottom of cage. When I had Parakeets, I always bought the inexpensive food containers you could put on the upper walls of cage. The birds just can't poop in the food if the food is above their butts. Common sense.
