Animated doesn't mean child friendly. Parents are responsible for monitoring what their children watch. Happy Tree Friends is obviously not meant for children.
Animation actually was first made for adults, that's why in older cartoons you see characters with guns, alcohol, and cigars. Only later they were done mostly with children in mind.
I wouldn’t say obviously. The cover art definitely seems child friendly. It’s only obvious if you watch an episode. I loved the Mondo Mini series as a kid. My former best friend introduced it to me during one of our sleepovers.
Pretty sure every single one of these cartoons were advertised as adult/late teen shows, and were placed in specific timeslots designated for adult content. To say these were kids' shows is clickbait.
Yeah, that one just has cutesy kid's show aesthetics, but even the DVDs come with warnings and some have "blood" in their title, etc. It's a gory shock/black comedy show.
Also, HUGE props to Jerry Trainor(spencer in "Icarly" and crazy steve in "Drake & Josh") for trying his damn best to defend the younger cast members from dan schneider's abhorrent behavior
I’m 41. We all knew Ren & Stimpy was incredibly jacked up while it was airing. I still have some old magazines that featured how controversial it is on the cover.
That's cuz back then we were over sensitive over protected coddled babies. Our parents didn't worry about it cuz we had sense and could handle a edgy tv show.
Yeah, it was pretty obvious, back then. Ren & Stimpy wasn't fooling anyone who actually paid attention. Same was true for Rocko, really. Invader Zim, nah, it was always geared at about 10 and up anyway (or at least that was the intention), and the show was too intentionally ridiculous to take its dark plotlines seriously. The Dan Schneider shows? Those mainly became inappropriate because what we learned recontextualized a lot of scenes. That Canada show? Yeah, I don't know how that wasn't shut down immediately. That last one? It actually doesn't sound like the show itself was inappropriate. The messed up stuff (to put it extremely mildly) was solely behind the scenes, which means it really belongs in a different video.
Ren and stimpy was portrayed as "two male gay lovers" theres a lost episode that explained that. Same wirh catdog two shows back in my day that Portrayed gay men. To me gay shouldn't be something to be made fun of in my opinion i never thought any of the "gay jokes from these cartoons ever made sence " plus its mean to do
Nickelodeon advertises itself as the " Number one kids brand". If they are going to do that then their shows should be orientated to kids and not adult humor or content or even innuendo. Cartoons for older people shouldn't be on a kids channel, period.
Some things are obviously marketed to kids and targeted towards kids/todlers more then others (regardless of whether certain shows or certain types of content should be or not)
The thing about Invader Zim is that its creator had basically no experience with children's media, so he wrote whatever he wanted to. Notably, all the animated shows in this video were Nickelodeon shows, which were favoured by a slightly older audience than most other shows on children's networks at the time (the target age range for most of them was about 13). Invader Zim, undoubtedly, is the tamest of the bunch, and also the most entertaining. It's a pity that it's only on Paramount Plus now.
It is rated 16+ but if it really had been available on Nickelodeon wasn't there the possibility kids would see it??? I once thought it was a kids show bc my mom had a dvd of it but I was terrified when I saw what it was about😭 Imagine you turn on TV and suddenly get into it, without any warning💀💀
Potty humor has *always* been popular with kids. But the artwork on those shows seems to have been *intentionally* bad. I had thought maybe the animators didn't realize what good art was like, until I saw one of those shows' parody of the titles for "Neon Genesis Evangeleon". At that point I knew they *had* seen quality animation and story writing, so they had no more excuse for producing crap. I may not really care for something like "Steven Universe", but they've defined an artistic style that's at least clean and cohesive, and they're proud of their influences from "Revolutionary Girl Utena".
Never forget when TH-cam made you watch a (non-graphic) Happy Tree Friends video about copyright law if you got a copyright strike back in the day. It was literally a wall that you couldn't get past without watching the video and answering the questions that TH-cam asked about copyright before you could use your account again. You can still find that video now, by the way! I think it's called "TH-cam copyright school" or something.
People often dont know it moved to Spike TV unfortunately which is also part of why the adult party cartoon failed. It just didnt have the audience or the audience was too disgusted.
I don’t think happy tree friends is in the wrong. It’s not the creators fault how people depict the show. many shows are for wayyy older audiences, and it’s not anyone’s fault that parents don’t pay attention.
@@zzevonplant I believe, IIRC, it came out he's a Pedalo. See Inside No9 S8E1 for the reference. (If not that season, just look for the one with pedalos, it's one of the newer ones.)
Happy Tree Friends was never for kids. It was never marketed for kids. Just because kids ended up watching it because their parents either allowed them to or were not paying attention to what media their kids were consuming was not the fault of the show or the creators. This should not be framed as “look what they’re allowing to be put online/on television for our children!!!”, but instead “look how negligent parenting allows children to view things they shouldn’t”.
The Ren & Stimpy clips used here weren’t even from the original show, either. They were from an “adult” version made years later, which was, obviously, FOR ADULTS. This video is kinda poorly researched & plays into fear mongering big time.
dude, we literally secretly watched this during IT classes in school. Classmates wanted to shock you and would show you this. Plus we thought it was funny. But there were no parents around there. And the teacher couldn't see every computer screen of every student either.
I wouldn't even say "neglecting parents" Kids will still watch it anyway. They will just do it when the parents aren't there to stop them. My friends two neices watch Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss even though they aren't allowed to. Two shows definitely not meant for children.

I'm convinced that guy was being manipulated by the creepy ass puppet. Nothing that looks like that that isn't possessed by a demon with intent on eating children.
Fun fact: the music video for "carpal tunnel of love" by fall out boy, is actually a happy tree friends music video, and it ends with giggles, cuddles, and the bandmates of fall out boy being gruesomely killed
10:44 Invader zim was supposed to be for teenagers not for kids, that's why they have such brutal humor, said by someone who watches it while being a teen
@His_Coconut_Gun: Agreed I bet some people create mountains from children shows that is not true and try and create a video AI generated system to make them look bad like for example tricking people into thinking that it is not what is happening when you are on set
This guy's portraying Cow and Chicken like it's a Catholic Church and not a slapstick cartoon, so he clearly doesn't care about misrepresenting anything or having facts straight
It had re-runs in my country for almost two decades, and I say "almost" because I don't watch TV anymore nor do I live there still, but I met less than 5 kids who didn't like it.
Nickelodeon is a kids channel. It even advertises as "the number one brand for kids". Want cartoons targeted towards a more mature audience? Fine then but put them on a different channel.
YEAH! Also, VV is kinda lying in some statements, it's not the shows fault "some, not most" children got **TRAUMATIZED**. It's 100% in every single case their parents fault. And you can't fucking tell me that Invader Zim is worse than these modern disgusting brain-rotting shows that Nickelodeon and others air. Like Paw Patrol, PJ Mask, Modern Spongebob, Miraculous and so much more!!!
I was extremely anxious as a kid and most violent or scary things disturbed me, but in a major plot twist, Invader Zim was very calming to me and got me through a lot of my issues!
when I was like 10 or less, I was on my phone and saw a cute little anteater with soldier ants. I had trauma of this episode for several weeks, and just writing about that gives me chills. I hate that show dude the PTSD is real lmao
I was traumatized by that damn show, Happy tree friends I remember watching it on Netflix and thought it was one of kid-friendly show with cute art style, but no.... I was flabbergasted, shocked, and... bamboozled
I remember being taken to a field trip my mother who is a high school teacher (she is a single mom and my grandparents were in a medical appointment so they could not take care of me) and it was to a college? But they were talking about how media is showing gore and bam that was a whole gory scene where a knife was used. I can say I was disturbed. Good thing I was playing pocket trains and only heard most and saw around 30% of the scene. And worse one of the local TV channel at 7:00pm showed the Final destination movies. That one scarred me for life. Absolutely horrible

Shocking that Ariana hasn’t speak out against Dan Schneider, about what he told her to do, Since Everybody in Victorious are exposing him and the show.
Why are you assuming Ariana was a "victim" just because she's female? She might have been fully on board with Dan's agenda, sleeping with him, etc. Just because she's a girl doesn't mean she's innocent. It wasn't long before Ariana went on to become a very mature, sexualized adult music star whose act is full of sexual references and profanity. The girl is obviously very sexual, very flirty, and no doubt enjoyed any attention she got on Victorious. I hate this idea that girls are all squeaky-clean victims. Reality isn't like that.
You assume Ariana is a "victim" just because she's female. Obviously she COULDN'T have any desires because she's a girl right! This doesn't tie with reality. We know how dark and mature that girl's career got after that show. Who's to say she wasn't just as bad as Dan or worse?
I was just thinking. Did you ever hear loud, scary sounds on television? Well, some television programs are loud and scary, with people shooting and hitting other people. You know, you can do something about that. When you see scary television, you can turn it off. And when you do turn it off, that will show that YOU'RE the strongest of them all. It takes a very strong person to be able to turn off scary TV. Mmm-hmm. That's one of the ways you'll be able to tell that you're really growing. @@V3INCR0M1Ayeah there was a killer known as Scott Dyleski and the episode made him kill his neighbor because he was curious of what’s in the human body
I watched Rockos modern life as a kid and I didn't think it was all that bad. Yes there were innuendos, but as a kid those references completely go over a kids head, but gives an adult a good laugh. Even Rugrats had small innuendos. It is vastly different from the completely in your face shows after the 2000s.
Most of the innuendoes went over my head when I was a kid, they are obvious to me now though. Even as a kid though I knew something was off about the one episode with Heiffer and the milking machine, though I didn't have the context to know exactly what.
Rockos Modern Life also had this disturbing, chaotic, unsafe and hrlpless vibe to it though. I remember Roxko being terribly afraid of the things happening to him and around him but completely helpless agsinst that chaos and fear and randomness. Also there was a lot of underlying nihilism. Considering the show is a satire on modern everyday life and its burdens, it's not a big surprise in retrospect, but not knowing that as a kid or even understanding it, all I took away from that show was that the world is a scary place. It made me uncomfortable. 😅
One of my favs, and still to this day. Along with Ren and Stimpy. Catdog. Rugrats. All of the 90's nick cartoons. I loved them then, and love them now.
As a staunch defender of invader Zim, i never actually considered how disturbing it was. Now, as an emo who still loves the show, I forgot how dark it was. I am still going to defend the show, but damn. I didnt remember how dark it was until this video. Thank you for reminding me of this.
@@SimipourfangirlThats cuz Invader Zim's art style, dialogue and humour are by default off-putting and scary with the colors and environments and plot. Happy Tree Friends is scary because it looks just like a normal happy children's cartoon with fun cute characters, a catchy jingle, that nice aesthetic font, so it's unsettling to see all of this be sued as a vessel for such death and violence

@@pyxilateAt the same time though, Teenagers are older kids, but they're more mature(considering the fact that they'll start cussing up a storm once they reach that age)
Yeah, I'm not defending it by any means, but a lot of the stuff slipped by because it CAN work on two levels. Like the character named 'Taint". Yeah, it's used to describe a lewd body part, but most kids would interperate it as a flaw, or something being poisoned or evil. And given the character was a toxic fan, it's VERY easy to see it as just being that she's 'tainted'. Even knowing the other meaning I wouldn't have thought it meant anything other than she was tainted. And as for the foot stuff, kids like gross-out humor and foot jokes fall into that category. Though I do think focusing on ACTUAL CHILDREN's feet so much is too far. It's more reasonable in animation.
I'm pretty sad that there was that gross joke with her, she was one of my favorite characters in the show. My mom and I were frequently quoting her "You're ruining my life" phrase
I didn’t notice that there was anything wrong with my favorite show icarly but I did notice that some of the episodes were a little dark like when Spencer gets dumped into the ocean or a river inside a giant pumpkin, the Christmas episode, that time they get trapped in the psychopathic teenager’s basement and Spencer’s flashback to his school days

I do not agree with someone who says "Anything that is animated or cartoonish is for kids." Cmon now. There are several examples of animated shows that are certainly not for kids. South Park, Happy Tree Friends, Helluva Boss, Hazbin Hotel, etc! Just bc something is animated or gives of a cartoonish style is not always intended for kids. My friend said Wings of Fire and Warrior cats is childish because of the art and concepts. But, I know that's wrong because of so many gruesome mentions in the books (Darkstalker having Artic debowel himself, Scourge killing Tigerstar in a very gruesome way, taking all of his 9 lives in one go, Brambleclaw killing Hawkfrost with a stake in the neck, and every gruesome deaths in both fandoms.)
My cousins showed me Happy Tree Friends when I was like 6 or 7, and the gore was so disturbing it legit fucked me up. I remember even telling my child psychologist about what I saw and he was horrified by what I told him 😂
Its bad if even the child psychologist is traumatized 💀💀💀💀 When I watched happy tree friends at the age of 11 or 10 or 12 it didn't scare me though which explains because I was used to watching gore 💀💀💀💀
I was six, and my sister tried getting me to watch. She was seven, and she thought it was hilarious. As a result I would start crying, and she would tell me to shut up. I'm still traumatized.
Cow & Chicken was one of my favorite shows, so some corrections: 1) Red Guy fills whatever antagonist role is required of the plot, he is not a mayor. 2) As of writing, the pilot is available unedited on HBO Max in Mexico. The pilot is part of the What a Cartoon show and doesn't belong with the main show, in the same way you won't see the Powerpuff Girls pilot as part of that show. 3) They do not go from "enemies to friends" over time. Each episode is self-contained, they do not know or recognize each other from one episode to the next. 4) If your first thoughts on watching it are paedophilic undertones, it's probably you that needs to take some time for inner reflection.
I also use to watch cow and chicken, actually I watched all of these shows and they were not appropriate. Trying to defend what's wrong shows that you don't like being told the truth.

Fun fact regarding Invader Zim. Jhonen was discovered by Nickolodeon through his comic he did in the early 90's called, "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac." The plot revolves around Johnny or Nny who goes around killing people and at some point even goes to hell. Not sure what the execs were expecting after seeing that but Invader Zim made my childhood.

The video doesn't even go into the deep of Happy Tree Friends, yet the logo was shown several times, without futher mentioning, which was something that already made me frown. True the characters LOOK like they are from a kids show, but the show did never intend to hide they were aiming at adults, and although I'm not sure, but I vaguely remember even the website itself warning that the show was not for kids. When it comes to the last show, of course a show host being proven to be wanting to cook and eat children is very criminal, but what does it say about the show itself? (Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good thing that man is caught).
My friend thinks that animated means ”for kids”. There’s this show named Helluva Boss I like, she asked me for what age group is it and I said ”it’s 16+” and she was shocked: ”but it’s a cartoon! cartoons are for kids!” I mean, just because the first cartoons, those made by Walt Disney, were made for kids, it doesn’t mean all cartoons are for young ages. That conception is wrong. Kids shouldn’t watch everything that’s animated.
first cartoons were originally for adults it was a massive w for them cause now they could see the most painful most sexual scenes ever without actors having to get hurt or harassed. i know you might say can't actors pretend to get hurt and i say well it seems very faked when it's fake kicking your toe against a metal table fakely will look fake.
Show your friend "Narutaru" or "Higurashi When they Cry" for starters. To really prove the point that not all animation is for kids, there's h e n t a i .
Pedophiles showed me a lot of animated graphic porn and gory things like Felidae when I was a kid and my mom said animated things are for kids. I knew otherwise. But I survived everything they did to torture me mentally and physically.
Just because a show was animated, doesn't mean it was for kids. I was in high school in the late night Nik era, and NO ONE thought these were kids' shows. THAT WAS THE POINT.
I remember when i was a kid ( i think 4 to 6 years old) my mom used to give me her phone before she sleeps and make me watch next to her, she always type “kids show” and then click any video that pops up I remember that day when she clicked one of those happy tree friends videos she just watched the first seconds and then gave me the phone before she falls asleep, I started watching it and at first it was amazing but then i still remember the scene when one of the animals there just got her face cut in half by a lemonade sign and her friend spits on her face with the lemonade she was drinking and started burning her, i was terrified and after that video ended when all the characters died in a terrible way i closed the phone and put it next to her before i cried while getting close to my mother because i was scared that it happens to me or one of those characters will come and ruin my face or even kill me. To this day I’m scared to get close to any lemonade stand
When it comes to live action Nickelodeon and Disney shows, it doesn’t take a genius to know what they are doing with the cast of teenage girls. They’re sexualising them is what they are doing. But the sexualising of teenage girls has been going on now since the 1960’s. I mean MTV has/had shows called Teen MoM and 16 and Pregnant for crying out load. The sexualising of teenage girls is nothing new.
Yeah, everyone is so soft. This is all just fake bs. Look at modern shows. Those are terrifying. Modern Spongebob unironically makes me wanna throw up every time!!!
In "Hey Arnold," Helga's mom was portrayed as aloof, humorously suggesting she was an alcoholic with her need for 'smoothies' and constant tiredness, hinting at hangovers without saying it outright. By the way, I really enjoyed your content! I'm working hard to elevate my video storytelling and editing to match your level
In case you want to know, the reason Zim got cancelled was due to the then-new 3D animation costing too much. It was also cancelled for it's darkness but it was mainly due to animation budget, episodes were too costly and cut too many corners to meet deadlines
my 7th grade history teacher was obsessed w ren and stimpy.. before tests he would play the happy happy joy joy theme song, and literally show i think stimpy hitting himself w/ a hanmer. i think someone had reported it to the office because the next times we had a test he had never played the theme song again
Man, I remember watching Happy Tree Friends when I was about 8 years. What was worse is that I thought it was just normal and watched it at around 10:00 at night. Needless to say I didn’t sleep that night.
If you need more content aside from the show and the movie, there are a few channels here on YT that have reconstructed a number of the lost episodes, and then a bunch of different people have worked on making dubs for the comics. My personal favorite creator in that regard is BroadwayMan, but there’re others beyond him if you’re not into his voice/his voices for the characters :)
Ren & Stimpy, Invader Zim, Rockos Modern Life, Cow and Chicken were all my fav shows growing up. I can say that from a kids point of view, the more mature themes and jokes just go over a kid's head and were in there to make parents laugh while watching with their kids. I think it was a balance intended to breach the gap and make it "fun for the whole family", but surprise surprise some parents have zero sense of humor.
That one person only got 20 years for evidence of him wanting to eat and cook people. WTH that is messed up, he should've got life and no chance of getting out. That is insane!!
That log-sawing scene in Ren and Stimpy is from the sequel series Adult Party Cartoon, not the Nickelodeon run. I'm sick of that scene getting lumped into these disturbing kid's show moments
Cow and Chicken, Rocko's modern life... I grew up with the former, we didn't have Nickelodeon but I watched Rocko's in my late teens. I understood none of the innuendos, and I thought going to hell for smoking was great actually lol. I love that cartoons have innuendos so parents can also have fun watching them. Honestly, thinking kids should be overly sheltered is what's causing TH-cam to be as washed up and censored as it is now, to the point TRUE CRIME channels need to censor words like "kill". It's ridiculous.
I agree, this is exactly why kids these days are gonna grow up to be soft They need some dark humor/disturbing scenes to understand the world isn’t sunshine and rainbows And especially if their 7 years old And not 5 anymore.
Bro. HTF is NOT FOR KIDS. It was a series created for adults and older teens. Just because kids ended up watching it does not make it a "kids show". Your thumbnail is misleading and false information.

I remember reading about the Joy Junction guy. There was a link to the court transcripts that included an online chat between him and another offender. I got about 3 lines into it and I had to stop reading because it was so horrific. What’s even more awful is that he wasn’t arrested until 2013. He’d been SAing kids for over 30 years, and the church, the TV show staff (it was public access so there was no big network behind it) and the police all turned a blind eye to it.
Actually, I believe 'Joy Junction' aired on Trinity Broadcasting Network. As a Christian, I am horrified at the revelations that have come to light about the show.
@@bodegacat1977 It did eventually air on Trinity, but it wasn’t produced by them. It was made by WCLF who at the time were a small non-profit Christian channel. Somebody must have had an idea he was up to something sinister. And yes, it is horrific.
@@CarysCreatesThings You're right, shot at WCLF, then aired on that station and (at the time) the other half dozen stations making up the Christian Television Network. Now CTN has about 20 stations, and it's been about 20 years since they reran Joy Junction.
Happy Tree Friends traumatized me when I was like 6 or 7 lmao, to this day I have a mild fear of stove tops (and that's coming from someone who wants to pursue cooking lol)
I honestly feel like including something like Happy Tree Friends in there just because it is a large child audience doesn't actually make it proper for this list. By this logic, The Amazing Digital Circus is a kids show, Friday Night Funkin/Five Nights At Freddy's are kids games, or literally ANY creepypasta you can think of. I think the issue is you could find anything that is cartooney/animated that is marketed and geared towards an adult audience and it will have a significant or mostly child audience. I think that is why I disagree so heavily with Happy Tree Friends being on this list. Because like there are examples like the rest of this list of properties made for kids having WILDLY inappropriate things in them, then there's ones like I mentioned such as FNF or FNAF ot TADC that don't have children as the main demographic, but because of some factor of art style or ease of gameplay they appeal to children. Happy Tree Friends is in its own category where it tried to emulate a children's show art style wise as a subversion for the cartoon itself to not be for kids. So I wouldn't exactly say its like any of the other shows on this list and doesn't fit within the list for that reason
A free to play live service game like War Thunder is more inappropriate for children than 90s Nickelodeon & Cartoon Network. It pressures bad spending habits onto children and the deeper the player pockets are the more exploitative these types of games are.

Yeah, they went over kid's heads, unfortunately nowadays they might not, and that says more about today's society than it does about those shows.
Yeah, I remember coming across Rocko's Modern Life a few times and feeling mostly bored while watching it. It had a distinctly "not for me"-vibe.
And given the character was a toxic fan, it's VERY easy to see it as just being that she's 'tainted'. Even knowing the other meaning I wouldn't have thought it meant anything other than she was tainted. And as for the foot stuff, kids like gross-out humor and foot jokes fall into that category.
There’s this show named Helluva Boss I like, she asked me for what age group is it and I said ”it’s 16+” and she was shocked: ”but it’s a cartoon! cartoons are for kids!”
I mean, just because the first cartoons, those made by Walt Disney, were made for kids, it doesn’t mean all cartoons are for young ages.
Show your friend the Porky Pig 'swear' video. . .
I don't want to sound like a nerd but one of the first cartoon made by Walt Disney wasn't for kids but for adults
I remember my dad opening Happy Tree Friends for me as a kid and we both had no idea what we’ll witness 😭
I remember that episode, truly traumatising 😭😭
I'm really sorry for u, I saw some of it when I was younger too and god was it absolute nightmare fuel.
Parenting problem smh💀🪦
That must of been so traumatic 😭

When it comes to live action Nickelodeon and Disney shows, it doesn’t take a genius to know what they are doing with the cast of teenage girls. They’re sexualising them is what they are doing.
But the sexualising of teenage girls has been going on now since the 1960’s.
I mean MTV has/had shows called Teen MoM and 16 and Pregnant for crying out load.
The sexualising of teenage girls is nothing new.
Inappropriate must have a different meaning these days.
Yeah, everyone is so soft. This is all just fake bs. Look at modern shows. Those are terrifying. Modern Spongebob unironically makes me wanna throw up every time!!!
“Dan making actors uncomfortable-“ BRO HE MADE ME UNCOMFORTABLE
You knew Dan?
In "Hey Arnold," Helga's mom was portrayed as aloof, humorously suggesting she was an alcoholic with her need for 'smoothies' and constant tiredness, hinting at hangovers without saying it outright. By the way, I really enjoyed your content! I'm working hard to elevate my video storytelling and editing to match your level
In case you want to know, the reason Zim got cancelled was due to the then-new 3D animation costing too much. It was also cancelled for it's darkness but it was mainly due to animation budget, episodes were too costly and cut too many corners to meet deadlines
The last guy only getting 20 years is the true crime.
my 7th grade history teacher was obsessed w ren and stimpy.. before tests he would play the happy happy joy joy theme song, and literally show i think stimpy hitting himself w/ a hanmer. i think someone had reported it to the office because the next times we had a test he had never played the theme song again

Man, I remember watching Happy Tree Friends when I was about 8 years. What was worse is that I thought it was just normal and watched it at around 10:00 at night. Needless to say I didn’t sleep that night.
invader zim was such a cool show tho, its a shame it was discontinued
If you need more content aside from the show and the movie, there are a few channels here on YT that have reconstructed a number of the lost episodes, and then a bunch of different people have worked on making dubs for the comics. My personal favorite creator in that regard is BroadwayMan, but there’re others beyond him if you’re not into his voice/his voices for the characters :)
it cost too much, new 3D animation and deadlines caused them to go way over-budget on.a frequent basis
@@Xeorboom i know why it was cancelled bro just saying it's a shame it got cancelled
A lot of younger ones just don't understand the humor of the 80s and 90s. We were a different breed back then.
I remember this was featured on a video on the NEXPO youtube channel
That log-sawing scene in Ren and Stimpy is from the sequel series Adult Party Cartoon, not the Nickelodeon run. I'm sick of that scene getting lumped into these disturbing kid's show moments
Winner of the award "Kids Movie Too Inappropriate For Kids": "Sausage Party"
that's not a kid's movie
Some of these seem like overreactions to me. Invader Zim... are you kidding me?! Just put kids in a bubble if you're that worried about them.
I dont think that's possible
Cow and Chicken, Rocko's modern life...
I grew up with the former, we didn't have Nickelodeon but I watched Rocko's in my late teens. I understood none of the innuendos, and I thought going to hell for smoking was great actually lol. I love that cartoons have innuendos so parents can also have fun watching them.
Honestly, thinking kids should be overly sheltered is what's causing TH-cam to be as washed up and censored as it is now, to the point TRUE CRIME channels need to censor words like "kill". It's ridiculous.
I agree, this is exactly why kids these days are gonna grow up to be soft
They need some dark humor/disturbing scenes to understand the world isn’t sunshine and rainbows
And especially if their 7 years old
And not 5 anymore.
That last guy only getting 20 years in prison is wild-
Bro. HTF is NOT FOR KIDS. It was a series created for adults and older teens. Just because kids ended up watching it does not make it a "kids show".

TDI had some pretty crazy stuff. Despite being a cartoon, you legit expected some of the people to die
Sad story:
At 8 or 7 years old. i watched a fan animation of this (that didn't have any gore or blood). I didn't know it was a fan animation and decided to watch all the episodes until i got to that point... It had so much gore and every vid was about an hour long. I hated it. When i finished watching a lot of these videos i went back onto the first video i watched of it just to find out it was a fan animation. I got terrible nightmares and looking at this fumnail, i remember all the terror I'd been through... 🥀

I am in my 40s. I grew up when Ren and Stimpy was on the air. Not only was it on late at night, but those of us that watched it knew exactly what content it had. Not to mention my mom watched it with my brother and I and thought it was hilarious.
Cow and Chicken's theme song: Momma had a chicken, Momma had a Cow, dad was proud, he didn't care how
Pretty obvious the show probably isn't really appropriate for younger kids. I'm js
My point was that there was no big network funding the show. It was a low budget production made by a small company, so the cast and crew were probably very tight-knit. Somebody must have had an idea he was up to something sinister. And yes, it is horrific.
@@CarysCreatesThings 'Horrific' is an understatement.
@@CarysCreatesThings You're right, shot at WCLF, then aired on that station and (at the time) the other half dozen stations making up the Christian Television Network. Now CTN has about 20 stations, and it's been about 20 years since they reran Joy Junction.
Happy Tree Friends traumatized me when I was like 6 or 7 lmao,

When I got the series on DVD I was upset cause They cut the No Tell Motel scene. In My opinion the best joke in the whole series.
HTT Basically your first ever"oh thats cute",and proceed to drop a nuke on the next scene"
I’m not sure but I think there was one point where it was on Netflix Kids.
6:06 “all night? *whistle* okay” I don’t know why but this was so funny to me XD
10:05 I REMEMBER THAT EPISODE IS WAS SO DISTURBING 😭
A free to play live service game like War Thunder is more inappropriate for children than 90s Nickelodeon & Cartoon Network. It pressures bad spending habits onto children and the deeper the player pockets are the more exploitative these types of games are.
I was about to make the same comment lol
