@VisualVenture add quotation marks to the first "kids" in the title

Animated doesn't mean child friendly. Parents are responsible for monitoring what their children watch. Happy Tree Friends is obviously not meant for children.
Kinda like Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. Animated, but certainly not for kids
Animation actually was first made for adults, that's why in older cartoons you see characters with guns, alcohol, and cigars. Only later they were done mostly with children in mind.
I wouldn’t say obviously. The cover art definitely seems child friendly. It’s only obvious if you watch an episode. I loved the Mondo Mini series as a kid. My former best friend introduced it to me during one of our sleepovers.
Pretty sure every single one of these cartoons were advertised as adult/late teen shows, and were placed in specific timeslots designated for adult content.
To say these were kids' shows is clickbait.
Yeah, that one just has cutesy kid's show aesthetics, but even the DVDs come with warnings and some have "blood" in their title, etc. It's a gory shock/black comedy show.
"many kids did end up watching it" which is nobodys responsiblity but the parents and the kids. Kids will ALWAYS break rules and see shit they're not supposed to see. That's how kids are.
Youre expecting people in 2024 to have common sense. Yeah, thats next to impossible.

Ya cause he didn't want Dan to have what he thought was "his". Hollywood and everyone in it, is fooked up completely. Devil worship
I was kinda shocked at that last part. Having inappropriate interactions with children is already disturbing, but literally cooking and eating them?!!! That's crossing the line.
like....why? Why would he want to eat children?
Feels like a staple of folklore for kids. Hansel and Gretel also and more.
I hadn't looked into him that much, but I thought that was a sick fantasy but I could be wrong, he did actually have CP, so he's still scum either way.

@@WiinterKitten It's almost like he doesn't do his research
@@AsymmetricalCrimesunfortunately he is sensationalist on a few points
People often dont know it moved to Spike TV unfortunately which is also part of why the adult party cartoon failed. It just didnt have the audience or the audience was too disgusted.
@@archerinspace The Spike version was also just not a good show.
Happy Tree Friends was never for kids. It was never marketed for kids. Just because kids ended up watching it because their parents either allowed them to or were not paying attention to what media their kids were consuming was not the fault of the show or the creators. This should not be framed as “look what they’re allowing to be put online/on television for our children!!!”, but instead “look how negligent parenting allows children to view things they shouldn’t”.
The Ren & Stimpy clips used here weren’t even from the original show, either. They were from an “adult” version made years later, which was, obviously, FOR ADULTS. This video is kinda poorly researched & plays into fear mongering big time.
Seems like the Happy Tree Friends part was cut out now? But I agree misleading.
I’m not 100% sure but I think it was put on Netflix Kids at one point but then removed.
I don’t think happy tree friends is in the wrong. It’s not the creators fault how people depict the show. many shows are for wayyy older audiences, and it’s not anyone’s fault that parents don’t pay attention.
It’s definitely not the creator’s fault. They did specify that it wasn’t made for children

The video doesn't even go into the deep of Happy Tree Friends, yet the logo was shown several times, without futher mentioning, which was something that already made me frown.
True the characters LOOK like they are from a kids show, but the show did never intend to hide they were aiming at adults, and although I'm not sure, but I vaguely remember even the website itself warning that the show was not for kids.
When it comes to the last show, of course a show host being proven to be wanting to cook and eat children is very criminal, but what does it say about the show itself? (Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good thing that man is caught).

Cow & Chicken was one of my favorite shows, so some corrections:
1) Red Guy fills whatever antagonist role is required of the plot, he is not a mayor.
2) As of writing, the pilot is available unedited on HBO Max in Mexico. The pilot is part of the What a Cartoon show and doesn't belong with the main show, in the same way you won't see the Powerpuff Girls pilot as part of that show.
3) They do not go from "enemies to friends" over time. Each episode is self-contained, they do not know or recognize each other from one episode to the next.
4) If your first thoughts on watching it are paedophilic undertones, it's probably you that needs to take some time for inner reflection.
The truth is, the show was inappropriate. Otherwise, they wouldn't have banned it.
I also use to watch cow and chicken, actually I watched all of these shows and they were not appropriate. Trying to defend what's wrong shows that you don't like being told the truth.

Cow and Chicken wasn’t unpopular with kids, it was a nightly ritual for me. Both C&C and IM Weasel were staples of my childhood.

I watched Rockos modern life as a kid and I didn't think it was all that bad. Yes there were innuendos, but as a kid those references completely go over a kids head, but gives an adult a good laugh. In case you want to know, the reason Zim got cancelled was due to the then-new 3D animation costing too much. It was also cancelled for it's darkness but it was mainly due to animation budget, episodes were too costly and cut too many corners to meet deadlines
Fun fact regarding Invader Zim. Jhonen was discovered by Nickolodeon through his comic he did in the early 90's called, "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac." The plot revolves around Johnny or Nny who goes around killing people and at some point even goes to hell.
Not sure what the execs were expecting after seeing that but Invader Zim made my childhood.
I gotta say, Dan hid his motives pretty well.
I wouldn't've caught any of those if it wasn't being directly called out.
Yeah, I'm not defending it by any means, but a lot of the stuff slipped by because it CAN work on two levels. Like the character named 'Taint". Yeah, it's used to describe a lewd body part, but most kids would interperate it as a flaw, or something being poisoned or evil. And given the character was a toxic fan, it's VERY easy to see it as just being that she's 'tainted'. Even knowing the other meaning I wouldn't have thought it meant anything other than she was tainted. And as for the foot stuff, kids like gross-out humor and foot jokes fall into that category. Though I do think focusing on ACTUAL CHILDREN's feet so much is too far. It's more reasonable in animation.

With a video title like that, I expected Popee to be in the video, that’s like THE perfect answer to that title.
@@aidentoons exactly! I was sure he’d show up. Everyone’s forgotten him, though.

Happy Tree Friends traumatized me when I was like 6 or 7 lmao,
to this day I have a mild fear of stove tops (and that's coming from someone who wants to pursue cooking lol)
saying happy tree friends is for kids is like saying cocomelon is for adults
Coco melon is top tier brainrot
Movies featuring animals have to let animal advocates oversee and dictate how the animals are treated. In The Shawshank Redemption, they couldn't even use a live maggot. I imagine the producer has to pay for these advocates and they are entirely third party. Would be nice if this could be put in place when an child actor is on set, to oversee and overrule the director or producer's power over minors.

Sad story:
At 8 or 7 years old. i watched a fan animation of this (that didn't have any gore or blood). I didn't know it was a fan animation and decided to watch all the episodes until i got to that point... It had so much gore and every vid was about an hour long. I hated it. When i finished watching a lot of these videos i went back onto the first video i watched of it just to find out it was a fan animation. I got terrible nightmares and looking at this fumnail, i remember all the terror I'd been through... 🥀
I feel bad for you
why the hell are making these shows in front of kids over woke plague

What vid?
Also how did you post this comment before this video
I am confused rn. Is there simply no part to happy tree friends after the clip with War Thunder or am I too stupid? Or was it possibly deleted?
I just searched the comments section to look for someone who also had this experience… IM SO CONFUSED
Apparently you can edit TH-cam videos after you’ve posted them… had no idea this was possible, so he probably had to change it
yeah, i noticed that too. i guess it's too graphic even when talking about inappropriate shows being inappropriate
Feet? Inappropriate? 🤣 Projecting? 😉 When one has dirty thoughts, one sees "inappropriate stuff" everywhere... isn't that true?
True
In "Hey Arnold," Helga's mom was portrayed as aloof, humorously suggesting she was an alcoholic with her need for 'smoothies' and constant tiredness, hinting at hangovers without saying it outright. By the way, I really enjoyed your content! I'm working hard to elevate my video storytelling and editing to match your level
Ren & Stimpy, Invader Zim, Rockos Modern Life, Cow and Chicken were all my fav shows growing up. I can say that from a kids point of view, the more mature themes and jokes just go over a kid's head and were in there to make parents laugh while watching with their kids. I think it was a balance intended to breach the gap and make it "fun for the whole family", but surprise surprise some parents have zero sense of humor.
Welp, now I know why you can't let me out of the house 😂
When it comes to live action Nickelodeon and Disney shows, it doesn’t take a genius to know what they are doing with the cast of teenage girls. They’re sexualising them is what they are doing.
But the sexualising of teenage girls has been going on now since the 1960’s.
I mean MTV has/had shows called Teen MoM and 16 and Pregnant for crying out load.
The sexualising of teenage girls is nothing new.
I am in my 40s. I grew up when Ren and Stimpy was on the air. Not only was it on late at night, but those of us that watched it knew exactly what content it had. Not to mention my mom watched it with my brother and I and thought it was hilarious.
Happy Tree Friends actually aired on Nickelodeon in Brazil at some point, though it could have been an internet hoax
I hope it's a hoax
@@sonicfanboy3375me too.
I hope that’s a hoax. There’s no way HTF would’ve gotten the green light to air on Nickelodeon of all places.
The fact that Dark Harvest is my favorite episode 😭
Early watchers know that the thumbnail was a picture of Cuddles from happy tree friends before it got changed.
Yeah which Didn't make sense cuz htf was literally NOT made for children
@@Sour_Kandiit was made to trick children
I honestly feel like including something like Happy Tree Friends in there just because it is a large child audience doesn't actually make it proper for this list. By this logic, The Amazing Digital Circus is a kids show, Friday Night Funkin/Five Nights At Freddy's are kids games, or literally ANY creepypasta you can think of. I think the issue is you could find anything that is cartooney/animated that is marketed and geared towards an adult audience and it will have a significant or mostly child audience. I think that is why I disagree so heavily with Happy Tree Friends being on this list. Because like there are examples like the rest of this list of properties made for kids having WILDLY inappropriate things in them, then there's ones like I mentioned such as FNF or FNAF ot TADC that don't have children as the main demographic, but because of some factor of art style or ease of gameplay they appeal to children. Happy Tree Friends is in its own category where it tried to emulate a children's show art style wise as a subversion for the cartoon itself to not be for kids. So I wouldn't exactly say its like any of the other shows on this list and doesn't fit within the list for that reason
I’m not sure but I think there was one point where it was on Netflix Kids.
As a kid who watches Happy Tree Friends, I almost got traumatized from this show.
I used to find it hilarious as a kid. Now im wondering what was wrong with me back then
@@user-pi3hd2bt3f same 💀 and somehow I was still scared of MOMO, like huh?
@@Sunniflowerrmaybe it's cause you as a kid didn't fully understand what was happening in the show and focused on the cute artstyle. Momo scared you because there wasn't much to understand, just a scary face
I watched it alot back then as a kid. And it never really traumatized me (i think atleast i cant really remember) I actually enjoyed it which idk how but then again i was playing/watching other things like mortal combat l4d2 and alot of other stuff back then.
I honestly enjoyed it ☺️
Cow and chicken was amazing so fucking funny. I still remember some of the best lines 😂😂😂
Okay, we all thought we knew where the last one was going... and it wasnt cannibalism. 😱 We knew it was bad,but it was SO MUCH WORSE.
Fun fact the invader zim organ episode influenced a murderer(:
If we're going to censor anything and everything that inspired murderers, we'd have nothing, including the Bible and a Beatle's album.
it didn't
You're kind of a sucker for believing that crap

Happy Tree Friends still brings back traumatizing memories! 😭😭😭😭
Yeah. I remember someone mentioning it in another youtube video and I was like "Ooh whats that? I'll check it out." I have never been the same since. (It was episode 2 btw)
I used to watch them on Headfuck , they were so funny.
Total drama island: Oh that's nothing😂
I think the dark crystal (age of resistance) belongs here because of a scene in episode sox where one of the skeksis is urinating in detail as an adult that was physically painful to watch
Happy tree Friends isn't a kids, if you supervise your child it can easily be prevented from being seen
I did not watch Happy Tree Friends, but I did stumbled upon HTF-based flash game in browser, which then left me with LOTS of questions
Rocko is insanely tame tbh. I'm guilty of watching it when i was young and for it to be on this list just feels goofy.
Invader Zim is also tame but it's atmosphere definitely freaked me out a little when i was younger
To be fair about Invader Zim, you could say the same thing about Courage the Cowardly Dog. Just because these shows were dark in style didn't mean that they were inappropriate for children. Both of these cartoons for example had plenty of wackiness that kept kids entertained.
As kids, everything was sunshines and rainbows but as adults, we finally understand the dark side.
unless you're a complete weirdo like me who always understood the darkness
@@XeorboomWeirdo.
@@user-sz9hx3dj7n thanks!
Some of these seem like overreactions to me. Invader Zim... are you kidding me?! Just put kids in a bubble if you're that worried about them.
I dont think that's possible
Cow and Chicken, Rocko's modern life...
I grew up with the former, we didn't have Nickelodeon but I watched Rocko's in my late teens. I understood none of the innuendos, and I thought going to hell for smoking was great actually lol. I love that cartoons have innuendos so parents can also have fun watching them.
Honestly, thinking kids should be overly sheltered is what's causing TH-cam to be as washed up and censored as it is now, to the point TRUE CRIME channels need to censor words like "kill". It's ridiculous.
I agree, this is exactly why kids these days are gonna grow up to be soft
They need some dark humor/disturbing scenes to understand the world isn’t sunshine and rainbows
And especially if their 7 years old
And not 5 anymore.
lmfao no way this dude thinks happy tree friends is a kids show im dying 😂
It turns out Happy Tree Friends was never meant for kids to begin with. It fooled many parents into believing it was. Then the real colors start to show.
Not gonna lie, I enjoyed it when I was a little tike.
