Awesome start to the series. This is great. That genestealer dropping from the ceiling and capping the marine was hilarious. Looking forward to the next episode. Keep up the good work.
Oh man, I hadn't heard about Richard Halliwell - his games have given me so much pleasure over the years. Getting Warhammer Fantasy Battle in 1983 set me on a path with tabletop gaming and here I am 38 years older and not much wiser! We had a lot of fun with Warhammer Fantasy Role Play too (I GM'd The Enemy Within adventure, everyone died, it was brilliant). Although I never owned Space Hulk I played it a fair few times - such a fun game (and always fun to watch your playthroughs). I'll be sure to pick it up whenever it get republished. Oh, and a shout out for Block Mania - an excellent boardgame for any Judge Dredd fans out there.
Thanks for posting such a fitting tribute to Richard Halliwell! I have the 4th edition Space Hulk board game set up on my gaming table. I had the 1st edition when it came out, but sadly drifted away from hobbying and didn’t get the Campaigns book or the expansion sets. Damn, I want them now!
RIP to Richard Halliwell. Great battle report, Ash. I’m running a small oldhammer convention next month in Portland, OR & will try to play a game of Space Hulk or Dark Future in his honor.
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames I might be getting ahead of myself, but would love to have you as a guest of honor at the con if it grows into a decent size the next couple years. It’s called 3D Roleplay Con by the way.
Oh wow ,I didn't know that book existed. I suppose it's expensive and difficult to obtain now. Brilliant piece of game design. Wish I had the expansions too
Good stuff Ash. Space Hulk was easily GWs best designed game*. Nowadays selling models is top priority and actually playability or fun does not come into the picture. * I think Man O War was actually a lot of fun, easy to understand and play and quite novel in some of its design.
You should do the Cultist mission from the white dwarf a few years ago which used the Overkill Cultists. No one has a play through of that mission on TH-cam that I can find.
You know what we missed Ash? We missed BFG and Titanicus. What would be even cooler is if you could do maybe a mini campaign with Owen (and anyone else?) where you have a narrative across gamesystems.... so the BFG battle determines what lands, the big scale battle is fought with titans, then you have a 40k battle and finally 1-2 Kill Team missions. You can do it. I have spoken.
Given the fact that you’ve got Ultramarines for your Space Hulk minis I’m surprised you haven’t played the old White Dwarf #201 Duty & Honour missions for Space Hulk. Those are actual Space Hulk missions for Ultramarines, from way back!
looking at all these terminators makes me think about my poor, poor, gabriel angelos model from Forge World and his super outdated rules. Now I made myself sad.
One of the best tributes to any creator is to keep enjoying their work
Amen.
Loved the joy in the Bam bam bam of re-living the hybrid gunslinger smoking Mr lightning claw. That's the stories we play for.
Prayers out for the Halliwell Family. Am glad you're featuring his game. 🙏🙏🙏🫂

I love Space Hulk. Thank you for uploading this play through. Mr. Richard Halliwell, you create a masterpiece. Thank you.
Keep that book safe from the neighbors
Would love to get more of this
"Theres one thing you need to know about karate. Gun beats karate every time."
RIP Mr. Stabby Hands.
That last hybrid with a bolt pistol gives me some Kelermorph vibes
I love how you can play with yourself. I did that all the time as a boy
A fine game. I played that book's scenarios many times in campaign mode.

Woooo-hooooo! More Space Hulk! I'm on an express elevator to hell; goin' down! It is a shame to hear about Richard Halliwell though.

I was sooo looking forward to more Space Hulk. Thank you, Ash. Campaigns is a fantastic book. 👍🏻
Thanks Ash, this seems like the perfect tribute to Richard Halliwell.
Space Hulk is the last vestige I still like about Games Workshop. Such a cool game. RIP Richard.
Can't believe That there is somebody else who likes this game as much as I do.
Had to ditch my copy of Space Hulk a while back to make ends meet, always good to see this pop up.
I can't count the number of Terminators I have lost to random lasgun and autogun shots. Terminator eye lenses need to be better armored. Lol!
Nice Job Matey !! RIP Brother Hal
The fact that just some random back water outpost has even five suits of terminator armor . . . Marneus that's some real misallocation of resources.
Space Hulk is a classic. Sorry to hear about Halliwell passing.
Still their best game, and not by a little.
My very first GW game for me asnd loved it!

I thought you could move diagonally in open areas just not around corners?

I had and still have my Dark Future stuff he did.
I see Space Hulk, I like, I comment and I stay Subscribed 😁
Aw important game for me after hero quest the next level into the hobby, still have it and still haven’t painted the minis😂
I love your TBT series!
Love me some spacehulk videos.
20:42 why does it only cost 2ap for the terminator to turn left, move straight, turn right again? They aren't allowed to move sideways?

If ever there was a good time for GW to re release space hulk surely this is it!
the four times i bought this game is the reason for my genestealer hoard
May I kindly ask with which solo rules you are playing with?
Why no diagonal movement? Doesn't the rulebook allow it for both marines and stealers? Or is it a popular houserule / solo play rule to disallow it?
looking at all these terminators makes me think about my poor, poor, gabriel angelos model from Forge World and his super outdated rules.

Where are the blood angels? Where are they? :) Ok, ultra marines will do :)
This is why we don't laugh at lasguns.
