"Join us brothers and sisters. Join us in the shadows where we stand vigilant. Join us as we carry out the duty that cannot be forsworn. And should you perish, know that your sacrifice will not be forgotten. And that one day, we shall join you." Rest in peace Duncan.
This song is so sad.... when i got to ostagar the first time, i knew something bad was gonna happen to the place based on the music. And having played many bioware games, it's pretty common for a starting zone to be obliterated or fall to baddies.
"Sound the retreat." "But what about the king...?" "Do as I command." "..." "All right, all of you, let's move!" And that's how the greatest betrayal of all videogames I played started.
@@Spherrum in the lore he was somewhat of a good king, he had found a way to negotiate peace for ferelden with orlais(?), i can't remember which country specifically, but he almost had an alliance ready.

I agree with you all. This soundtrack reminds me that this may be my very favorite videogame. Ever. I have played a LOT of games. I liked this one best.
This song is the perfect calm before the storm music. 2:58 As you go through Ostagar, you can feel how everyone is on edge. You see it in their eyes and you hear it in their voice. 3:18 But you also feel excited for what is coming, a chance to prove yourself in battle, as you are just a new recruit who never seen real war. You are also curious about what becoming a Grey Warden might entail and what challenges await you. 4:00 Despite everything you feel as though you are about to go through something you are not preapered for, not by a long shot. 4:15 What might lurk in the mist that surrounds the woods? Something mysterious is in there, a force that you can just barely feel the grasp of. 4:35 A power so strong that it might be the end of this whole army. 4:55 But you take a deep breath, look around you than and you focus on the task at hand. You take a step towards your new life and begin your journey.

There is a melancholy, a foreboding theme in this track. The troop morale was high, they fought valiantly, but in vain. And now the Grey Wardens must unite a country from annihilation. It is a task and burden. But the Wardens shall prevail. They have the faith and strength.
I would relate it to the shit some of the wardens just went through: Human Noble: Entire family got slaughtered Dalish Elf: Tainted by the darkspawn, leave kin and join the wardens or die a slow and painfull death. City Elf: Murdered a noble who tried to rape his bride, got conscripted into the gray wardens to escape sentencing. Dwarven noble: Oldest brother got murdered by youngest brother, and you take the blame. Got exiled to die fighting darkspawn, saved by grey wardens
@Ilnezhara I am so glad you did this. It's annoying to buy the mp3 soundtrack Album and find a lot missing. Especially pleased to get my hands on Redcliffe Castle Combat!
if you look at the origin import on DA2 the elf storys were female and the noble human and dwarf were male. and from cullens crush on the mage storyline that was female was well
I want this played at my funeral after I slay the seventh Archdemon. If prophecy holds true, the last Archdemon will be a dragon carrying the tainted spirit of an old god named Reggie. I get misty-eyed on those measures (2:00-2:10, 3:37-3:45, 5:14-5:23) when the B note comes in under the C chord. Wayyyy sad.
It was actually used in medieval 2 total war for the Teutonic Campaign in the Kingdoms expansion.(It plays in the main menu for the Teutonic Campaign.)
Nothing will compare to DA:O. Why did they take the beauty away. I don't recognize Thedas at all when I am playing Inquisition this makes me really sad. Why try to change what is perfect?WHY?
Because what you're playing is LGBT Simulator, not a Dragon Age. Dragon Age died along with Bioware in 2012. By then the majority of original Bioware workers had quit or been laid off. The Bioware you see today is nothing but a cancerous nest of SJWs and LGBT activists. This saddens me so much as Origins created my favourite RPG world. Ps. What we all love listening to is from the master himself, Inon Zur. He also quit making music for dragon age after DA2. Even he saw what sh*tfest the game series was turning into. It no longer was a game, but just a tool for bunch of pathetic individuals to push their agenda forward.
Dude!! . I think the same bro!! I cant recognize Thedas. I just can see forest, deserts and some random caves. And refuge isnt the same as origins. Totally dissapointed.
all these music but still can't find the one music that plays before you go marching off to fight the Arch Demon after all you companions are done chatting to you.

God that part around 1:40 just sounds like a breath of cool, fresh air.

1:40 - 2:20 in my opinion is the Warden theme , When i heard it in DA2 when Warden-Alistair / Stroud Make their cameo, I had a few tears

If there ever were to be a Hero of Ferelden DLC in DA:I. They should totally play this track when meeting the Warden. :-)
Maybe in the fourth game

Thanks for adding the full version of this track. I've been looking for it. Definitely the most dramatic and ominous piece in the game.
I don't know why they didn't include these in the main OST. Thank you for this.
''Death is no failure my friends. Should you fall you have not failed your King but served the Maker''
Lol! It's brilliant, glad you made it all together. and you've made everyone happy ;) Nice beautiful song. Thankyou

OMG at 1:40, 3:18 and later a bit, one of the two medieval 2 total war Teutonic main menu soundtracks plays!!!
Nostalgia
Very epic. I love it!
best song in the entire game ... my opinion
i played the city elf bride perspective and it ruled a captive brides couson throws you sword and you go on a murderous rampage
I think the part that starts at around 1:40 sounds very much like a piece that was in Avengers Assemble.
It was actually used in medieval 2 total war for the Teutonic Campaign in the Kingdoms expansion.(It plays in the main menu for the Teutonic Campaign.)
I want this theme to come back 😪
Funnily enough, some of it is in the game files of Dragon Age: Inquisition.

AlexIncarnate911 because EA...... the lead designer of dao resigned during da2

the king always new the battle would be lost thats why he send the hero of ferelden and his half brother to the tower.

that would be "ferelden at war" at the last part
The REAL Ruins Of Ostagar..

all these music but still can't find the one music that plays before you go marching off to fight the Arch Demon after all you companions are done chatting to you.

no he didn't he thought they were going to win and he didn't even know alistair was his half brother his birth was kept a secret
Dragon Age 3
