I relate so much to what you said about work. When I was younger I believed my hard work will speak for me but it hasn't been so. I have a coworker who is much more social, outspoken etc and even though he works far less he got a bigger raise, is friendly with our boss etc. I am a bit quieter and shy so despite doing more work I don't stand out in that environment. I still don't want to accept that lying and sucking up to your superiors will get you way further than hard work but it's the sad truth.
Also don't worry too much about your presentation, mistakes are a part of life and work of course. One good thing that comes with experience is you lrarn to take it all in stride and not stress too much over it, none of us are perfect!

Taylor - OMG girl please do not beat yourself up over that presentation! When I was first working I used to get so stressed and worried that I didn't present myself in a certain way and it STILL happens (I am 42 btw). I know its hard, but believing in yourself and knowing that you DO know the answers is the key. Because you do know the answers! Never second guess yourself! YOU GOT THIS

I moved to NYC from Japan and am working in midtown. Many of my friends in Japan say working in NYC must be fun, brilliant, fantastic, making a dream come true etc, but in reality work is work, not necessarily always full of joy and motivations😂 I still like to work here, though.
