If it was a stray Mia cheated with Lance probably wouldn't care so much. But it was with his homie, Harper which hurts 100 times more. Every time Harper were to come around he'd probably be thinking about them two"knocking boots" and Mia getting her back blown out 😂

FUN FACTS:
1. Taye Diiggs' reaction to Nia Long slapping him was REAL! She slapped him so hard that he got so pissed and vowed to never work with her again, until he calmed down. She was mortified and apologized because she didn't realize she hit him that hard.
2. Sanaa Lathan played the grown up Alicia in The Wood.
3. Shelby said, "go hang with your 'Boyz In The Hood.'" As you know, Morris Chestnut played Ricky in that movie.
4. The scene where Regina Hall had to play a stripper, was her first scene ever. She also played Sanaa Lathan's older sister in Love In Basketball.

To answer your question. Yes they did sleep together, but he downplayed it in the book. The "forehead kiss" was a tell. I love this channel so much, but I want to really thank y'all for being open to these movies. There are so many incredible movies from Black cinema and no channel ever reacts to them. I suggest "Brown Sugar" I love that movie so much and it stars Taye and Sanaa 😀😀😀

Taye and Sanaa are together again in “Brown Sugar” as two friends working in the Hip-Hop music industry.
I love "Brown Sugar" overall, but
Taye Diggs was not remotely convincing as a "hip-hop head", IMO. Mos Def was the standout, I loved his character.

I was so into the intro that I forgot I was starting a movie and not a Hip-Hop documentary.

This is such a classic movie. It's so iconic. I can't wait to see y'all do the whole franchise. Unpopular opinion: The best man wedding is one of the best ones and nothing really beats the original these days

they tried to expand with the tv show but i'll always like the 1st movie the best.
@kennycooper294 I wouldn't say they were trying to make it anything it wasn't. They were just trying to tell a complete story, and I think they ultimately did.
I also don't think the first movie being the best is an unpopular opinion. To me, everything that follows is just bonus content that adds to the first.

I hope I can explain it right. So, to clarify, Jackson (Harper) slept with Kendall (Jordan) in the book, but only cuddled with Kacey (Mia) in the book. Jordan realized that Harper swapped Kendall & Kacey for sex stuff to disguise his wrongdoing with Mia by making it seem like he slept with Jordan and only cuddled Mia. Jackson slept with Kendall, but cuddled Kacey like Harper used to do with Jordan, which meant that Harper actually slept with Mia. Lance realized Harper slept with Mia because Harper ended the "cuddling" encounter in the book due to "the forhead kiss" line Harper wrote. What Harper didn't realize was that almost the whole crew knew that Harper would give women forehead kisses that led to sex, so Harper dumbass self thought nobody would notice. That's why Quentin, "the frontal lobe?", when they were talking in the restaurant about the book near the beginning. I think Quentin already knew about it and was basically questioning Harper as to why Harper would put that line in there. When you rewatch it, you'll realize Quentin had been trolling Harper the whole movie about the indiscretion because he knew the secret. Murch's tea spilling self didn't know anything (for good reason lol). Basically, Harper thought he was more clever in his writing and didn't realize how much his friends KNEW him...
Yesssssss I never understand why he put the forehead kiss in their especially when him and lace was so close he knows harpers game 🤦🏾♀️

He felt he had so much perspective on who his friends were, how he viewed them, knowing them all so intimately and personally, that he failed to realize how much his friends watched him in return. Throughout the movie, from Robin, Quinton, Jordan, to Lance, they all proved throughout the movie over and over that they all knew him way more than realized. He really thought that he would get away with it...

Sanaa Lathan's father was a regular on Sesame Street. He was a director for the show as well as other PBS productions.
He also does lots of comedy specials. Kings of comedy and others.
And Malcolm D. Lee, the director, is Spike Lee's nephew and why he invested/was a producer.
Best Man Holiday ASAP I want to see more laughs and tears! My fave Rom Com cast they are all the greats.
I somewhat don’t blame Mia, I understand why she’d want to sleep with someone after Lance’s infidelity. I actually blame Harper for letting it happen. He’s a terrible friend and it’s reestablished throughout this entire series. However, I do blame Mia for not being honest about it and ruining a lifetime friendship for him. Lance and Harper miss out on a least a decade of their lives together because of it.
Lance and Haper are the ones at fault; Lance for cheating on Mia more than once, and Harper for actually sleeping with Mia instead of just talking to her. Mia was in the right to sleep with someone, and I can understand why she chose Haper; she was his great friend, and even when they were friends, they had something more than friendship going on, but neither ever did anything about it, so Haper was always going to be her first and only choice.
Bottom line, Lace and Harper were the ones at fault
I think all three were toxic af lol. All this running around cheating, getting revenge, fucking up friendships, etc. is just ridiculous. It's entertaining in the movie, but if this was real life I would suggest all three go their separate ways and work on themselves.
So Mia is just a prisoner of Harper's charm? She's an adult lol. If she wanted to cheat, that's understandable. But sleeping with Harper is on her too.
Everybody was in the wrong.
Mia could've got revenge with a stranger and nobody would have known.
But she wanted to hurt Lance, even if he didnt know she won.
She used Harper and he was in love with her b4 she got with Lance.

I’m sure someone has already mentioned it but I think the thing you guys are missing is the conversation Jordan had with Harper where she laid out his bad cover up job. He tried to swap the characters of Kendal and Kasey., but it was transparent because they all knew the dynamics of his relationship with Jordan.

The song Mia walked down the aisle to is "After All is Said and Done" by Beyonce and Marc Nelson. Marc actually was an original member of Boyz II Men before they made it big. He was later in the group Az Yet that sang "Last Night".

I think we can all agree that Robin deserved better. But there are two more movies and a mini series that wraps it all up. And they are ALL amazing, which is rare.
Let's Go. This cast was fantastic and between this, the sequel, and series they haven't missed a beat. This movie has great lessons on karma, accountability and how the truth always comes out.
Harper is a peak movie villain. Sleeps with his best friend’s girl, accepts being said best friend’s best man at their wedding, writes a book about sleeping with the best friend’s girl AND dedicates it to them like wtf 😭

I think you guys should check out “From”! Harold Perrineau (the actor that plays Julian in The Best Man) is the main character and he is amazing in it. It’s such a mind bender, really think you guys would enjoy.

Very. But it took me becoming an adult to realize that he’s probably the best man out of all of them. He’s honest, has his friend’s backs, but he also holds them accountable. He stayed consistent throughout the sequels too

A 90s classic! I think the group missed the meaning of the forehead kiss in the book. Harper’s character gave the forehead kiss to Mia’s character, which represents that they slept together. That’s how Jordan figured it out as well as Lance. I definitely recommend watching the movie sequel; the Peacock series was good, although I had issues with some of the decisions the writers made with the characters actions, but I’d still love to see the guys watch and react! 😊

One of my favorites! Thank you for doing this. This movie inspired me seeing how well the characters were doing in life contrast to many other movies that only showed the negative black experience.
I dont get men like Lance because he cheated on Mia the whole time, and she just had to deal with it. She did it once and was willing to just leave her. And im 1000% sure he would have had the same reaction even if it wasn't his best friend.

I was so excited to see this notification lol. I was wayyyyy too young to see this movie 😂 but I’ve been obsessed since I was 8 lol. The second movie takes place years later, but they managed to make it better. Then the mini series came and topped that. These people really do have amazing chemistry!

The Best Man is an all time classic Black film. Glad to see you guys react to it! I hope you also watch its sequel the Best Man Holiday. Although a tearjerker, still a great sequel imo. Oh and the song playing while Mia walks down the isle is called “After All is Said and Done” and it’s sung by Beyoncé and Marc Nelson! Beautiful song.

I just finished the mini series for the 3rd time. this movie came out when I was in the 11th grade. I saw this in the movies, saw the second one in the movies, and watched the mini series. its been a 23 year journey and I fall in love more each time ❤❤❤ My favorite characters are Merch, Shelby, Harper and CRAZY Ass Q 😂😂😂. I love them all. you guys must watch the second one!!
