Thank you, I greatly appreciate this video as my G2 test is comming soon and this is the only proper video on TH-cam for PortUnion centre. Edit: I passed and the only changes I had for the route was that instead of turning right at first stop I had to go straight towards the residential area. -Then had to do 3-point turn and downhill parking. -Then left turn at all way stop back to the centre and reverse and forward park. -Was very short approx 10 minutes
Worth mentioning at 18:14 you see him make a right hand turn across a bike lane without first merging with the bike lane to occupy the space before making his turn. You should always try to pull to the right when you know you are going to turn even if there is a bike lane. This is important now a days because we have high speed ebike users on these main roads in toronto who can easily T-bone you on your right; thinking you are going straight.
So that means we have to dive in to the right causing us to cover the bike lane just before turning right?? This is where I’m unsure for the test and I’m wondering if we don’t do that and turn like the guy in the video did, will we fail or just get marks deducted?
@@michaelw2747 Yea kind of like when you signal to park curbside, or change lanes, basically just signal right check your blindspot try to get as close to the right about 30-50 meters before the turn if possible. For full points I think it would be smart to let the signal distinctly turn off after pulling up to the side then turn it on again for the right hand turn about 20 meters before it. If that isn't possible due to the strip of curb being too short, you can infact get away with a stop during a right turn on a green in order to check your blindspot for cyclists.

brooke lesnik I was exactly the Same, I would practice everyday for about an hour since mid May. After it felt more natural, and I would practice the route/area. I would also practice parallel parking over and over too, until it was second nature. It’s partial luck with the examiner (perhaps if you are nervous and slip up one would be more lenient) but over all they want to see that you know how to use the car and that you are SAFE. :) make sure to check your rear and side view mirrors every 10 seconds and make sure it’s super exaggerated so they can’t say you didn’t look. The weirder it feels the better off you will be.
@@tsaristo7053 I have been driving since May also and even got some driving lessons... i have been practicing soo much my parallel is better than my reserve.. going this weekend to drive in test area and to spend hours just reserve parking. Thanks for the tips I feel like I sort of lose track checking mirrors so often but I know it helps with overall driving.. ugh hopefully I just pass first time 🙏 not looking forward to wearing the mask and gloves during test but no other choice lol
I just passed my test today!!! I'll tell you guys this they say it depends on the instructor but honestly doesnt matter long as you pay attention and control the car look in mirrors use your signals you'll guarantee past and btw this video helps to aka the cheat code lmao.

I passed G2 test last week at port union. This video was definitely helpful in understanding the parking space and basic mock details before starting the G2 test.
@@pamelaoutar4299 Yeah it was basically the same route. After getting onto the main road they ask you to enter the neighborhood areas. The turns inside the neighborhood areas might be slightly different. But the way back is also the same.

Mine was a different route (i think it’s easier route) I had to turn left on dunford rd keep driving straight, and turn left on Sheppard Ave, turn left on vandorf, did the parallel park and 3 point turn on tidswell blvd and back to the base.

@@EvoBoY-u5b hi, no completely different. My instructor didn't take me onto Kingston rd but instead told me to turn left at the 4 way stop in front of the plaza. I wouldn't like memorize this route cause it depends how each instructor does it. I just used this video as reference to see what each street name was and kinda familiar myself to the area. Yes I actually passed. Pretty quick as well. Good luck if you have a road test coming up!

Nice demonstration! I had to book my G2 test in Port union since Oshawa is fully booked until summer 2021. I was supposed to have my test in August of this year but the bookings filled up fast. Port union had available dates in February 2021 and I don't wanna wait longer than I should be to get my g2. I've practiced enough to be ready for the test so now I got much more time to practice before February. This video was very helpful and I'm actually a little more familiar with these roads even though I was told Oshawa is easier. Thank you for the video

So in this video the instructor said to keep to the left because the next light on sheppard av was going to be a left. On the actual test, do you change to the right lane and then go two lanes to the left again once its time to turn left? Or did you just keep to the left like this video.

I had to do a 3 point turn, parallel parking, uphill parking and finally front parking back at the exam centre. I did mine in the early morning, if you’re doing yours early too, watch out for school buses! Also know what to do if emergency vehicles show up (the roads were literally clear, but as soon as I started the exam, a firetruck appeared😫)!!
Pamela Outar hey, oh man I’m having trouble remembering what exactly the route was, but it wasn’t the exact same as this video. We spent the majority of the time in the neighbourhood. I do remember that instead of turning left at the very first stoplight shown in this video, we turned left at the stop sign before the signal, went down that little street (where I encountered the fire truck) then went down Sheppard I believe! I highly suggest just going down to the drive centre as frequently as you can before the exam and familiarizing yourself with the whole area so you aren’t met with any surprises on the day of haha

At 8:02 shouldn't you go to right lane after turning into left most lane? You did it at 9:42 but not before. In the exam can the examiner fail for not taking right on road at 8:02 in the video?
Hello. What type of car they prefer for you to use? Because I might use a SUV because that's what I get used to drive. And that's what I got to practice everyday. Do you think it is ok?
Is it true that you can bring your own car for the test? Or do I need to use an instructor’s car? I just don’t want to pay a lot just to use someone else’s car in the test. I can also borrow my dad’s car, who might come along. I also wonder if there’s any bearing on the leniency of the examiner depending on whether you use your own car or an instructor’s car, thoughts?
Oh and I hear they ask how many times have you gone through highway 400 series, but I don’t really keep track. Any idea what number I should put? And should I put a small number so they’ll be more lenient to my performance in the highway? Or should I put a larger number so they’ll know I have lots of experience already?

B0T It was easier than I thought yeah we should bring a mask and the do you want to license is enough for the ID and the instructor told me to do all the parellel parking three point turn on the left turn right turn lane change etc. but it took only 15 minutes maximum I think and went to the main roads for just a few minutes only just for the right and left us that’s it. Hey can you please make a Sudbury g2 test route by October please? I failed at Newmarket test centre yesterday, and had to book in sudbury for the earliest date. I dont knoe any of the roads there it would mean alot.
Left lane is only for passing and turning left so you should not stay in the left lane unless you are planning to pass someone which is unlikely you would do that on the exam as you will have to adhere to posted speed limits.
Uphill look at the boarder signal to the right and turn steering wheel to the left , down hill signal to the right & turn all the steering wheel to the right

I think right after you make a turn on a major intersection going into two lanes, you have to signal-mirror-blindspot into the right lane since the left one is the passing lane. It's especially important to do this during a test!! Good luck!
Hello, quick question. During the video you made a left turn onto Kingston Rd but didn't merge to the right lane after since your doing a left turn again onto Sheppard Ave W. Will the examiner fail you on that?
You should show that you are attempting to change lane to the right by showing signal, but they’ll stop you and tell you to stay in the left lane as you will be making left turn again.

I’m scared to switch lanes without the instructor telling me to but I’m also scared of getting points taken off for staying in the left lane too long 😅
If they are really mean, they may ask you to turn right at the intersection while you are still driving in left lane. You will be forced to switch lanes to the right last minute which is not ideal.
Lust Barbie yes the blonde one oh my god i didn't pass the exam because the lady always giving me a late instructions amd mayber she get mad becasue i told her i'm following the rules. like in the intersection after you move out you gonna be in the left right after that you need to go back to the right side and after i check my mirrors and signal and check my blind spot i'm ready to move to the right side and she told me no go back to the left and it's make more anxious because i'm following the rules and how she giving me the instruction it's late for me already at the alway stop .

The instructor told me to make a left at the stop sign 7:43 and I thought she meant the traffic lights in the video.. i couldnt switch lanes to turn left because id be crossing over the solid white line.. She was like "at the stop sign turn left" I said ummm sorry i thought u meant the intersection, then shes like "orrr go straight" lol i just didnt wanna turn outside the turn lane, at the end she passed me and said its better to lose the points then not make the turn at all..

I wanted to clear something from the reading material. Once you complete G2 road test, you get your G license.yeah?
No, you have to do a G2 exit test which will take you on the highways. One you passed you then get your G.
When returning from the G2 road test does the examiners instruct us on our way back to drive test center?

When you are turning left onto Kingston road do you have to move over to the right lane? before moving to your most left lane for the left turn?
At 8:02 shouldn't you go to right lane after turning into left most lane? You did it at 9:42 but not before.
In the exam can the examiner fail for not taking right on road at 8:02 in the video?

Is it true that you can bring your own car for the test? Or do I need to use an instructor’s car? I just don’t want to pay a lot just to use someone else’s car in the test. I can also borrow my dad’s car, who might come along. I also wonder if there’s any bearing on the leniency of the examiner depending on whether you use your own car or an instructor’s car, thoughts?
There are no lane lines in the parking lot… how did you make reverse parking ?

Oh and I hear they ask how many times have you gone through highway 400 series, but I don’t really keep track. Any idea what number I should put? And should I put a small number so they’ll be more lenient to my performance in the highway? Or should I put a larger number so they’ll know I have lots of experience already?

How did it go? Also how long was the test and what maneuvers did the examiner make you do? Also did you have to bring a mask and what type of ID did they ask you?
B0T It was easier than I thought yeah we should bring a mask and the do you want to license is enough for the ID and the instructor told me to do all the parellel parking three point turn on the left turn right turn lane change etc. but it took only 15 minutes maximum I think and went to the main roads for just a few minutes only just for the right and left us that’s it. And yeahhh got the G2

I did test here but it was more difficult than it she gave me extra turn 3time and parking always in the back of plaza.

Hey can you please make a Sudbury g2 test route by October please? I failed at Newmarket test centre yesterday, and had to book in sudbury for the earliest date. I dont knoe any of the roads there it would mean alot.

I never understand why we have to make a right turn after going left on an interaction unless you wanna go right
Left lane is only for passing and turning left so you should not stay in the left lane unless you are planning to pass someone which is unlikely you would do that on the exam as you will have to adhere to posted speed limits.
Question: when doing up hill or down hill park it’s always to the curb and the wheel all the way to the right.
You always do wheels to the right except when you’re uphill and there is a curb, then it’s to the left.

Uphill look at the boarder signal to the right and turn steering wheel to the left , down hill signal to the right & turn all the steering wheel to the right

I was wondering when do you need to switch to the right lane from the left on your own
I think right after you make a turn on a major intersection going into two lanes, you have to signal-mirror-blindspot into the right lane since the left one is the passing lane. It's especially important to do this during a test!! Good luck!

Hello, quick question. During the video you made a left turn onto Kingston Rd but didn't merge to the right lane after since your doing a left turn again onto Sheppard Ave W. Will the examiner fail you on that?
You should show that you are attempting to change lane to the right by showing signal, but they’ll stop you and tell you to stay in the left lane as you will be making left turn again.

I’m scared to switch lanes without the instructor telling me to but I’m also scared of getting points taken off for staying in the left lane too long 😅

If they are really mean, they may ask you to turn right at the intersection while you are still driving in left lane. You will be forced to switch lanes to the right last minute which is not ideal.

Is it true during the driving test that you should be checking your mirrors every 5 seconds? I have my test at Port Union in 3 weeks!
Check as often as you can. 5 sec is impossible, but you should do it often. Every time you break at the intersection, check the back mirror.

Lust Barbie yes the blonde one oh my god i didn't pass the exam because the lady always giving me a late instructions amd mayber she get mad becasue i told her i'm following the rules. like in the intersection after you move out you gonna be in the left right after that you need to go back to the right side and after i check my mirrors and signal and check my blind spot i'm ready to move to the right side and she told me no go back to the left and it's make more anxious because i'm following the rules and how she giving me the instruction it's late for me already at the alway stop .

@@madisonjanusz4454 its not, try not to watch this video too much. The instructor told me to make a left at the stop sign 7:43 and I thought she meant the traffic lights in the video.. i couldnt switch lanes to turn left because id be crossing over the solid white line..
She was like "at the stop sign turn left"
I said ummm sorry i thought u meant the intersection, then shes like "orrr go straight" lol i just didnt wanna turn outside the turn lane, at the end she passed me and said its better to lose the points then not make the turn at all..
