I really like the Crystal Flash on this one. Made a nice body. The aft position of the bead is a different look. Nice job Matt. Great video. Thank you Sir.
Yep, agree on the naming of flies. But when coming up with names we also need to balance between: being descriptive, easy to say, and not being so long that we forget the name!
My kind of fly Sir Matt, I've always liked the flashy ones. It looks really cool and great. Thank you for sharing with us. Congrats to the winners. Have an awesome day Sir.🤠
Thanks John, and please do! My wife has been wanting to vacation down there for years. Maybe someday we can make the trip and you can point me to the best rivers. :-)
That would be my pleasure to point you in the right direction. Unfortunately, I am very restricted these days after a cardiac arrest on a fishing trip to British Columbia and having only 28% injection fracture. I still push myself but recovery takes a few days. Kindest regards.
Yep, just trying to get over that 1,000 subscriber hump! In January I might drop back down to three flies a week, with the random book review thrown in throughout the week.
I didn't even think about that Lee, but you're exactly right. Changing the position of the bead will definitely give it different motion when stripping it.
Shane- this bobbin holder is by C&F Design. It's their CFT-60 model. It's sometimes hard to find but I do love it. www.castersonlineflyshop.com/c-f-standard-sized-bobbin-holder/

Great looking fly Matt and thank you very much
You're welcome Dave. I got your address and the book is on the way. Cheers. -Matt
Great tie matt, congrats guys on the book wins
Thanks Michael! I didn't comment yet, but your parachute looks awesome! With the gold and silver it looks like a Christmas fly too. :-)
Very nice pattern love it thanks matt
Thanks Mike! I just realized something... that without the hackle, this is basically a perdigon nymph.
Love these quick easy ties. Nice little fly Matt.
Thanks Clyde! And you're right... sometimes the simpler the better. :-)
Really appriciate you taking the time to make these videos for us. Top notch.
Thanks Lloyd! I really appreciate you watching and the support. Cheers. -Matt
It’s got a great name, but when you are in a book full of 1600 flies, you gotta stand out. Congrats to DH and BM!

You got it Edward; thank you too!
Another day, another fly to tie! Looks good so will make up a few and let you know how well it fishes on the Waioeka River down-under in NZ. Regards

John- sorry to hear that. Me vacationing down there is probably a dream anyway, but maybe someday. :-)
Very nice. Its sure to work well here (Australia) :-)
Thanks Terry! It's an odd style here, but at least looks pretty cool. :-)
I've tied flies kind of like that. I use a 1 xl long hook. I tie them in black, yellow and olive. Caght more on the yellow.
Thanks Colin! This was on a 1x long hook too. Yellow is an interesting color for it. Thanks for the note my friend. :-)
@@SavageFlies your welcome sent you a photo this morning on Instagram
I think I missed this video, you are pushing lots of content latety!!

Nice bug, moving the bead should change the angle it dances through the water as you strip it back.

What bobbin is that?

That is a Christmas ornament fly. You need a mini tree with all your flies hanging on it.
You're right Debora! Maybe we should make a whole series of Christmas-themed flies. And give them names like Mistletoe or Frosty or Rudolph. :-)
