Great selection of shooters here. As for my favourite.... depends on the day but a few i always get a kick out of that don't often get mentioned (especially in comparison to the mainline entries) are the Raiden Fighters Aces games.
Being the fan of shmups that I am, it’s always a joy to discover hidden gems. It’s also what I play during weekends. And let’s not forget, the immense replay value that STGs are known for. At least for me.
a bunch of solid looking shmups! gonna have to look into some of these. I think my favorite shmups might be the TRUXTON games (both of which available on steam courtesy of bitwave) and the RAIDEN series (I think my current fave is RAIDEN 4 X MIKADO, takes the classic sequel and injects it with a heaping helping of heavy metal remixes!)
NGL, Cybattler is basically up there with my favorite arcade shmups, especially for the Gundam aesthetic. Also Battle Bakraid is giving me serious Wings of Honneamise vibes, with is always nice.
Nice arcade SHMUPS mate & I already have the physical release of Vasara Collection for the switch! It was released back in the early 2000's at the arcades and I enjoyed playing on my switch here!
I own Cybattler, Vasara I and II, 1944 and Thunder Dragon 2 (and 1) on the switch....Cy is so hard ahah...Battle Bakhraid...i m playing that one on my SEGA Astro City Mini V..cool but not Battle Garegga cool....1944 (by Raizing btw) is not bad but not as good as 19xx, imho!
Got all of these bookmark on MAME, and so I could lay back and enjoy the video, I used your chapter list on this video when I was bookmarking them. Now that I've watched the video, seeing "Prototype" on Wing Force and seeing a Thunder Dragon 3 that said it was a clone of 2 makes more sense. 😉 As for the question, can't remember if you covered it in the last video, but Time Soldiers was one that I came across while scrolling through MAME, looked interesting, so gave it a shot, no pun intended, and did enjoy, so I'll say that one.
I just finished playing a lot of Vimana on Toaplan Shooting Collection 3. I'd never heard of this game before until I bought this Toaplan game set. It's real cool! It's a shame it never was released on the Megadrive or Saturn back in the day.
Thunder Dragon 2 is the greatest badass game to shoot the other planes returning fire. I never play Thunder Dragon 2. The game looks fun. The game compares to galaga, galaxian, gaplus, xevious, and other shooting retro games.
@MadPanicGaming I gotta you, and you like listening to rock music, right? Rock music is the best music genre. You can listen to rock songs. All you want its a blast.
Do you nba Jim? Nba pre-season is coming next month! Do you like Atlanta Hawks? It's the best basketball team, and Trae Young is the basketball player. He plays on the Atlanta Hawks!
What's your favorite arcade shmup!?
Ikaruga🕊️
zed blade EASILY
rapid hero and aero fighters 2 are up there tho
Probably Ketsui or Dodonpachi Daioujou. Extra grateful they got the M2 Shot Triggers treatment.
Keeping fingers crossed for modern console or PC ports of Guwange and Mushihimesama-Futari - they've been stuck on the 360 for far too long!
One can only hope

Those are some AMAZING games

I agree, once you become intent on beating your own scores or getting a 1cc there's no limit to the amount of replay value a good shooter can have

Yes, the Mikado releases of both Raiden 3 and 4 have been excellent!

Not sure why it took me so long to play Cybattler, guess it just flew under my radar, but it became an instant favorite
Thank you for these suggestions. I am glad I subbed to this channel a couple of weeks ago. These games are 💥💣💥👍
Much appreciated, thanks for watching!

I can agree with that, if I had to choose between the two I'd go with 19XX

Yeah Time Soldiers is a pretty cool old game, would probably be better suited to my Run & Gun series though
Jim: top shmups, also Jim: Slaps a $1000 game in the thimbnail 😆
Trixton and Twin Cobra are my fav shooters.
Damn fine games
Nice list!!

Ah yes, solid shooter indeed, one of Toaplan's more forgiving games or at least it is on the first loop, gets tougher after that
For some reason I find these games good for the brain
@@garyobrian3597 that makes sense, they require constant unbroken attention and quick reactions, very mentally engaging
"GUHWANGAH" 😂😂😂
i had been trying to remember cybattlers name for years now
Happy to help
Cybattler is on physical cart for the Evercade…the only way I want these arcade ports is on physical compilations.
Arcade time with Jim/Mad Panci Gaming more amazing games thank enjoy until next video

Vasara collection is on switch.
Hey Jim. How's everything going today?!
Hey Jim. Do you listen to pop music?! Pop music sounds fun.
No, never. I have no interest at all in pop music.
