  • Watch an instructional segment from Body as a Weapon course with Vladimir Vasiliev.
See how a strike or a contact to the body initiates body movement.
The freedom in the body allows it to escape and sets the arms and hands in motion, thus, the attack is controlled smoothly and decisively.

I love it when Vlad shows concepts like coming inside the movement, removing support etc. This for me is what sets it apart from other martial arts. Subtle yet devestating.

As always спасеьа for systema clips. I still rely on them for my home systema training.

I'm still convinced that once upon a time a Slav saw Drunken Master and said hold my Vodka.
Joking aside, I'm intrigued by their body movements and understanding of balance.

Want to see a reaction drill on this.
Would be great if the student could attack aggressively and the instructor using the same technique.

This is Martin Wheeler- one of Vlads prime Student/ Instructors and he was featured on the discovery channel demonstrating a Secret Service series as an instructor for training Ops. I was looking for Bourne/ James Bond or Clandestined Martial arts and eventually came across Vlad and Martin back in 2014. Been following and looking for new content from them ever since.

Systema is great, but it's based on the attacker doing a committed attack.the minute he attacks like a kickboxer everything changes.

    • @supportadmin7735

That may be true to a degree but then kickboxing looks different when confronted by a military commando. I use systema all the time within my various arts as glue and suprise relaxed moves that are hard to see or stop. It is a wholistic primciples based fighting system that you can add for spice to kickboxing silat whatever.

Where are your bulshido comments now ❓
    No comments, why ?
If Aikido is bulshido, then wtf is that 🤣🤣🤣
