      my recovery was about 3 months - although I started singing again at 2 months, just not for very long. With each passing year it feels even stronger, although it felt GREAT at the 2 month mark post-surgery. Once they fix it, you have to take care of it and don't go back to your old habits that got you there in the first place like talking too long, staying up too late, not eating healthy, and drinking too much.

    I’m calling them right now. Just canceled three month of sold out shows after a year lock down. Scary AF. Hope I can get in and get it fixed and be back out there by the end of august.

    • @ThomShepherd
      @ThomShepherd  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      it will take about 3 months to recover, and then you need to take it easy and not do longer shows. They are the only place I would trust with my vocal cords. You can really tell how much they fixed it in the before and after part of this video. Be sure to cut out alcohol as much as you can when singing, that is what wrecked mine and even after surgery it can make it get tired real quick. Drink LOTS of water and get enough rest too and don't talk for 2 or 3 hours after a show. I know it's tough to avoid the after party most of the time. Talking is worse on it than singing, especially in loud environments. Also fried food and dairy messes it up. good luck buddy! great to hear from you.

      @@ThomShepherd Thanks Tom. Appreciate it. I’m going to have to get it done here in Denver. Vanderbilt won’t accept cash. You have to go through insurance and I don’t have any or have time to get it and then deal with it. I’m meeting with a vocal therapist and coach to see if we can get thought Sep-Dec and then get surgery if need be. My voice comes back almost a 💯 in a steam bath. I think I strained it singing through server allergies. Already canceled 4 months of pre-sold out shows after a year of shut downs. Brutal. If I have to cancel the rest of the year I am absolutely f’d. I appreciate you taking the time to get back with me. Hope all is well. It’s been a long time since I’ve see ya. God bless 🙏🤝
