    Dang. I feel like an idiot. I had my carbs off last year and I had a heck of a fight getting the air horn attached to the carb and airbox. It never occurred to me to slide the rubber sleeve back. Doh! Thanks. Your vids have saved me more time and effort than you can imagine. Of course, I am almost always compelled to make first repair attempts without instructions. I'm pretty sure that's built right into my DNA.

    Thanks .. there are boots for the cable ends at the carburettors .. good for holding a bit of grease for the cable ends.

      Well, back in the day, you had to lube the cables and those boots did exist. These days, BMW no longer sells the boots and the cables now have Teflon coating to reduce friction and you do not lubricate the cables anymore.

      @@BrooksAirheadGarage Right, but I find that a little grease at the cable ends makes them rotate freely, which helps release friction. There are aftermarket boots, I think.
