Hi i know i am late for this but please what if the query still don't work even after that because mine still says column count doesn't match value count at row 4
HI @Gadhard stone. The error means that you are providing less data in the table contain columns( for example there are 5 columns , but you are only providing 4 column values). And now the database engine does not know in which columns to put your data. mostly this is the reason for this error:- 1) you might have missed the comma between two values or column name 2) or you have given an extra values or an extra column name To overcome this you can provide the names of the columns you want to insert data. For Example: insert into table_name (column_name1, column_name2) values (100, 200)

you're encountering an error with an INSERT command in SQL through the command prompt, it's important to carefully check the syntax and make sure that you're providing valid values for each column. Here's a basic template for an INSERT command: INSERT INTO your_table (column1, column2, column3, ...) VALUES (value1, value2, value3, ...); Replace your_table with the actual name of your table, and list the columns and values accordingly.
Hi @Anudeep Kurma, Yes if you need to insert multiple rows or let's say 100 or 1000 or 10000 rows then you can import or read csv data and insert it into table
Thank you so much for posting this. Do you know if there's a way to insert a value through a certain range? Example: Insert Into PortalDocumentOptions (portalID,moduleID,form) Values (13,16,1), (14,16,1), (15,16,1) ... If I wanted to go all the way to (126,16,1)?

HI Kenneth, its can not be possible that if the syntax is correct but its not working, there might be something like a semi colon or something else which is causing error.

Hi @Satish, In this video i have explained how to insert rows in a table and for student 5 the marks is "Null", so we can not insert the value for student 5(otherwise the table will have duplicate row), so instead of insert we have to update the marks for Student 5. Hi Sachin,
either there is an error in your query which you have written for multiple insert query, else you need to update your SQL
I swear my syntax is right but somehow its not working for oracle SQL
HI Kenneth, its can not be possible that if the syntax is correct but its not working, there might be something like a semi colon or something else which is causing error.
I did the same and wrote all the syntax correctly but it's showing error
@@asd4701 i am having the same problem here. is this syntax fine for 11g?
Try using a single quotation mark 'student6' instead of double quotation marks "student6" on strings data types.
it works in MySQL not in Oracle SQL.
Thank you very much
You are welcome
