Here it comes for the 8BS revamp, one of Konami's finest games on the NES and a series that has spawned many wonderful games and soundtracks, its the original Castlevania! Originally released on the Famicom Disk System in 1986, then in the USA in 1987 and then on an actual Famicom cart in 1993, this game is a classic every NES player has played or heard of, from its stylistic gothic and transylvanien graphics to its simple yet challenging gameplay, it truly is a classic that has stood the test of time, and of course, the music has remained a staple of well known video game music! Kinuyo Yamashita composing a majority of the soundtrack, with Satoe Terashima contributing 4 songs, one of which being the most well known track, Vampire Killer, all arranged and under the sound driver of Hidenori Maezawa, all of these tracks capturing the vibe of the game, and the compositions really feeling like they were originally in mind to be played on a grand epic piano, its the most fitting style for this vampire slaying action! :D
Vampire Killer is a classic no doubt, but my favorite track is easily Heart of Fire. They saved the biggest banger for the stage they knew you would be on the most. XD
Omg. HD sound. This soundtrack is so amazing. Quite possibly the best NES soundtrack intro to the end. I have been playing it with my five year old daughter lately revisiting it. Such an amazing game and feeling. The fact that my kid likes it and gets as excited as me is just a surreal feeling. 😎
It feels so nice doing this Revamp, too bad didn't start it when was last on XVGM to mention it, but was a work in progress still, and we got so many more OSTs to do! :)
@@Dongled Oh wow okay I basically mention it, I thought I had just said I was returning to uploading soundtracks but not the revamp, which was still in the works, how time already flies from those few months ago :P
I can almost hear the whip crackle when it hits the enemies lol 😆 thanks for the nostalgia 8bitsterio your channel is awesome cant wait till you catch up from your old soundtrack list. So many good 8bit music out there and alot of it is from the nes sega master system game boy and game boy color you have your hands pretty full but your keeping up. And i respect your channel big influence on all classic gamers out there keep up the good work.
Niko, you rock! I happened to be in a stream with you the other day and they were talking about how you are doing refreshes of the 8 Bit Stereo videos so I came by to check one out!
Wooow!!! This time the sound quality really fills my expectations!!! My favorite track, "Stalker", has never been heard better!!! Plus now I know that the real composer was Satoe Terashima!!!
The information about composers/arrangers/sound programmers has slowly been becoming more known and accurate which is great, especially with any game that had multiple composers involved as Konami would have, some stuff will slowly be found out as time goes on or remain a mystery, either way, will do my best to spread the accurate information! :)
I squee'd so hard while playing Smash Bros Ultimate and there was a CV1 themed world, all with remixed music and a Dracula fight complete with a cookie monster transformation. Oh, right in the nostalgia!
Ohh please... don't tell me you used an NSF where the framecounter wasn't set on? :/ I really hope that I'm deaf, because I can't really tell of your effects if the triangle is long or way too short.
