True, I was lucky to see them live in Munich, Germany, must have been around 2007/08... that was the greatest live show I've ever seen, the whole crowd was dancing like crazy, and the guys brought an endless energy and joy to play, the gig with encores went about three hours...
I've loved these guys since "Two Shoes" came out. No earthly idea why they didn't take over the world, they're the most infectiously FUN band I can think of.
@@ReactionsToTheClassics They did alright - twenty years with the same guys is nothing to sneeze at. No idea why they aren’t more well known though. I’ve heard from people who claim to be music experts but hadn’t heard of Cat Empire until I played some of their stuff that their music “isn’t really as good as it sounds.” I dunno about that, I think they’re fantastic - and the track with the new lineup sounds very promising. 😄
Trey, I'm not familiar with this band but it sounds interesting. The song moves fast right from the start. Ths song has excitement and energy. Cool rocking sound, nice keyboard solo, solid drums. You do a great job with your commentary on the lyricl meaning. This song is instrumentally sophisticated with lots of rhythm. Cool song Jem.
There is tons of Cat Empire material on You Tube. Brilliant band, their live shows are just joyous. Studio or live, you will find it very difficult to sit still listening to Cat Empire. Even more difficult not to smile. Some song suggestions - The Chariot, The Car Song, One Four Five, Days Like These, Steal The Light, there's so many and they're all joyous. Highly recommend some of the live videos from The Roundhouse in London to see the band absolutely firing and the crowd having the time of their lives.
Breaks my heart that theyve finished up. Ive followed them since they started and love their music. Never forget Womadelaide this year. Btw its Mel-Bin not Mel-bourne.
Felix, Ollie, and the current band released a new track this week and they’re currently touring Spain and kicking all kinds of ass - hopefully. I am optimistic about the band’s future, but I’m gonna miss Harry’s contribution.
