Awsome Video!! I live up here in North Dakota and i am trying to get people into slacklining and yoga slacklining. not much of that kind of demand up here though:) I am going to use this video to show people the meaning behind it. thank you again!
(cont. from below). This does not mean that it is not possible, which is why we now err on the side of caution and use mats, rugs, or thick cardboard to pad trees. This is especially necessary when lines are being tensioned tightly for trick lines or long lines. One of the things we like best about the eline is that the material and simple tension system allows for the line to be set up slack or loose, and presents no more threat to a tree than a hammock. Still, protection is a safe bet!
Impressive. I can't even stand on a slackline. I have done tai chi on ice, though. :D One thing about turning your activities into a yoga practice... everything already is mindful meditation!
Thanks for that last comment. It is a bit embarassing sometimes looking back, and hindsight is 20/20. Our group is very committed to environmental awareness, and do currently go to lengths to pad and protect trees. The question that continues to come up however in the slacklining community is the validity of these claims about slacklining damaging trees. The extensive searching that we've done (online and with arborists) suggests that there has never been a substantiated case of damage.
This was also hugely inspiring in my journey. Your team rocks!
