China for their behavior should be banned from these shipping lanes for a long time ,or till they learn to behave when being around others. When they start to understand that they should also be required to make a large cash payment (Insurance policy, nonrefundable) stating they will conform to rules and regulations.

Believe it or not, the vast majority of all intelligence that the US gains on Russia and China are open source information. When looked at by the individual pieces of information by it's self it doesn't provides any real intelligence gain that would give the US any form of leverage. But an innocent short paragraph by china about an upgrade in a shipyard would it's self mean nothing. But when added to a report of a particular piece of equipment being sold by france😢 and another from South Korea in the different report from Australia, individually mean nothing but collectively and mixed with previously gathered information can usually provide sufficient information that would be classified so that the other side won't realize that we figured out something that they are trying to keep on the lowdown. After all sometimes something that is extremely important to keep off the other sides radar and keep them from digging deeper than nessary is to not hide it but put it out for everyone to find out about.
Similar to the tank in WW1. If they had hidden it from prying eyes it would draw unwanted interest. But by telling everyone about it and passing it off as a means to provide pottable water for the troops. everyone who found out about it didn't fixate about it in general and basically ignored it until it was right there in their face as an operational weapon did the other side realize that they were dupped and leaving them at a distinct tactical and strategic disadvantage.

Yes, there are millions other times they don’t citing classified information. But this one is good for the public to know. The Philippines needs to increase its number of ships, jet fighters, and missile systems and increase its active troops to at least 1 Million troops. They need to prepare to defend against Chinese aggression or worse invasion. The keyword is DEFEND. Nobody cares to invade China. If there's any country that might want to invade China later on, it would be Russia which is also on a path to expansionism.

Precisely why we need to have bases and military presence in Southeast Asia in case China attacks. Americans do not or are not interested in what is happening in the Far East so they do not understand the importance of preventing China from invading Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia. They are even intimidating Japan. Once China gets control of these countries China can then control t the South China Sea
