I'm shooting factory Remington .45-70 .405 grain load 'for all .45-70' rifles. These rounds are low pressure cartridges so they can be used in 1873 trapdoor Springfield rifles and up. Cartridges with higher pressures are unsafe in older rifles because the action is not strong enough. Consult your owner's manual or hand loading manuals for more information.
the velocity is not very high on these rounds, but its like a bus going down a side street.
