This compilation originated from me. I pulled these ads from an archive I had access to and assembled a VCD of them, hence the low quality. I still have the master tapes. Amazing to think how it must have spread among collectors.
I had a few 1/6 Joes from the Classic Collection back in the mid 90's. My favorite one and only one I still have is the British S.A.S. I still have him completely intact with all his gear and weapons.
Had the eagle eye soldier, always looked as if he'd been caught having a hand shandy over some gentlemen's magazines.Got the Intruder who was basically a 1970's leotard wearing, bearded wrestler with a push button on his back to activate his plastic grip of death. My brother had the Atomic man,Steve Austin with an Afro basically.Bullet man looked like the kid who went to the special school and wore a crash helmet to stop him breaking his skull when he charged into the walls.
Tom Baker & Patrick Allen VoiceOvers.... Not only did Allen star in 100s of war Saturday afternoon legendary films like Operation Wild Geese & North Sea Hijack he helped sell almost every toy for boys in the 80s via his voice over work......and he looked a little like roger Moore too
Always thought that the Action Man "The Intruder" adverts were the best ones, if only for cries of "Action Mannn!" and Tom Baker's full-on narration! (So glad I managed to get The Intruder recently off ebay!)
Character Options called the moving eyes 'HAWK EYES' actually for HM Armed Forces. But yep total copy of Palitoys Action Man Eagle Eyes from my childhood which I really still like but its nice to see someone from the 90s recall the modern Action Man as cool too. I also have a few of them myself.
Oh man, what an upload. Totally took me back! I loved the Action Man, and Evel Kenievel (can't spell it even though I've just seen it) ads. Quality!!! :-D
Growing up in states I hadn't heard of 'Action Man-Palitoy' till about 5 yrs ago.I started collecting some to go with the 70 complete Joes I have.Since Palitoy built them w/Hasbro all body parts/accessories are complete interchangeable. I've found that the Palitoy (especially 40th reissues) are much better quality than Hasbro! Palitoys SOTW (german/russian/orange scuba suit etc.)are frickin fantastic quality. They're out of stock at modellersloft & getting pricey on ebay.Get em while you can
I loved GI Joe, and Action Man is wonderful too. But the eagle eye thing is just creepy. Space Rangers are super cool. Never saw that before. Loved Mego too. Thanks for posting.
you guys might be interested in this although it wont happen for a LONG time now i am planning to make an action man mod for counter-strike GO (when its released) it includes palitoy and hasbro characters so yeah thats it
Takes me back! omg I had most of all the toys, I forgot about fireman and seawolf.. Did you see the prices!!!! cheap not like today, I remember Actionman in a silver space suit does anyone eles?
Hasbro, Mego, Ideal. Palitoy was getting toys from three of America's big toy makers. I was unaware of how much America was dominating Britain's toy boxes in the '70's.
@oxleymations you really think that? I grew up in an area where superman was a punk and batman wasn't quite man enough (the no kill policy) they wanted to be like the rappers in the videos
I had the Scorpion 'Tank' IFV for X-mas in 1972 and it broke all too easily. For example, the tracks kept getting thrown and the headlights fell off. Very disappointing, I never really got over it and went on to become a heavy drinker as a direct result.
on The second evel kinevel advert with the kids in tshirts the voiceover is Ed Bishop also the nick o teen ads could not be used on the Network Charley says DVDS because they i believe they were too expensive to licence
Well, the non-military thing was exactly what the public wanted in the States and I happen to like a lot of it but as an American I can agree that Action Man seemed to go out with more of a bang than Joe sadly did.
For some reason when I was ten, someone got me one of these Dolly's for.Xmas. at the time Jagger had just made the film Ned Kelly . . I made the doll.armour out of coke cans and blasted it to bits.with my 22,air rifle. Doll.never made boxing day . . James may.reckons every boy had one. Not where I come from . .no one was called James either. . air rifle best thing I owned untill.I got a field bike..gillera trials 50cc at 13 was like owning a space ship back then...dolls .ha .
I used to love my Action Men...they used to kidnap my sisters Cindy doll...take her to a secluded warehouse and gang rape her. Sadly she survived and contacted the Action Man military Police. The Action Men concerned were tried by court martial and executed, and they're bodies were buried in unmarked graves in my nans garden. Cindy however, traumatized by her experience turned to drugs and prostitution although she could never again capture that dreamy 92 hours at the hands of my action Men!!!!
Hasbro's action men were my childhood, cos im 16. I thought they were cool and never saw an old action man until 2007. Palitoy and hasbro are good, and HM armed forces ok too. (Except HM armed forces totally copied the eagle eye thing with the sniper figure, even naming him EAGLE EYE!) ;-)
they didn't even bother to make the doll look like Evel Knievil...Sorry...I mean the action figure. I really wanted one of those Super Hereos. Still do.
As Squadron266 says, the British made and Austrian version was called Action Man. We had the better version then the Amercian Gi Joe. This British made toy was made by Palitoy between 1966 and 1984. The company Palitoy no longer exists anymore, regrettably. This is what it is like over here in England they are either closing down or being bought by Foreign Companies.

I had a few 1/6 Joes from the Classic Collection back in the mid 90's. My favorite one and only one I still have is the British S.A.S. I still have him completely intact with all his gear and weapons.
I’ve now got 60 action men from the 1970s ,started off as one off impulse and snowballed!beware nostalgia is an expensive emotion lol
Had the eagle eye soldier, always looked as if he'd been caught having a hand shandy over some gentlemen's magazines.Got the Intruder who was basically a 1970's leotard wearing, bearded wrestler with a push button on his back to activate his plastic grip of death. My brother had the Atomic man,Steve Austin with an Afro basically.Bullet man looked like the kid who went to the special school and wore a crash helmet to stop him breaking his skull when he charged into the walls.
man if they had those superman commercials on television now a days I don't think any kid would even think about smoking. great video dude.

We really had great toys back then.
Quality! Took me right back to the '80's.
I had that talking Police car! I had forgotten about it until I saw this. Thanks!

Tom Baker narrator on at least one of these ads, great stuff.

Better than any fu__ing video game console from today...
I loved GI Joe, and Action Man is wonderful too. But the eagle eye thing is just creepy. Space Rangers are super cool. Never saw that before. Loved Mego too. Thanks for posting.

Palitoy, the best toy company in the world!
Absolutely Awesome!!
Takes me back! omg I had most of all the toys, I forgot about fireman and seawolf.. Did you see the prices!!!! cheap not like today, I remember Actionman in a silver space suit does anyone eles?
Love these commercials.. similar to the GI Joe commercials❤️
4:42 "Even a talking #Dalek!" :D "Exterminate! #exterminate!.. You will obey!"
Hasbro, Mego, Ideal. Palitoy was getting toys from three of America's big toy makers. I was unaware of how much America was dominating Britain's toy boxes in the '70's.
Nice collection. I like those Superman PSAs
Hard to choose: Who does the best Action Man advert narration? Patrick Allen or Tom Baker?
These are great !
Oh my god! My mum used to nit clothes for my dudes haha.
Action man always used to rescue Barbie and Cindy. Then he would have his way them both haha
Dat voice at the beginning - "ACKSHUUN MAAAN!
I find the use of words in these ads interesting. You never see American toy ads use fancy words like "Dynamic" or "Physique" XD
Oh, and where was the Action Man Power Hog, which resembled a Banana Splits buggy? And where were the German Army Officers??? :-(
Skyhawk...first launch it...then release it....and never see it again. Christmas Day 1979.
Say goodbye to Action Man forever. It was brilliant, kids would have to buy new figures because he was stuck in a tree.
ive still got my eagle eyes action man and one with the rubber hands ..brill toys
Comes with an eviction notice, a Bottle and a thousand yard stare.
@oxleymations

Back when Evel Knievel was the only one advocating wearing bike helmets -- like I'm going to take health and safety tips from that guy.

Their helicopter was WAY cooler than ours

on The second evel kinevel advert with the kids in tshirts the voiceover is Ed Bishop also the nick o teen ads could not be used on the Network Charley says DVDS because they i believe they were too expensive to licence
5:20 Cool looking Evil Knievel set! Did he come with a Baseball Bat as an accessory? LOL (look it up youngsters)

I actually really like the Adventurer era of GI Joe but it would've been cool if the Adventure and Military themes could've co-existed
You came from the battlefield casualties video, didn't you?
Nah that's Tom Baker (Doctor Who)
Now you'll never see action man available with a submarine or mobile eyes on store... =(
I remember having action man
I never knew Action Man travelled back in time, to fight with cavemen and dinosaurs!
No, its the late English Actor Patrick Allen.
