Just for anyone to understand, these ashen chests are EXTREMELY OP . Me and my friend made 500,000 gold in about a hour and a half. You can basically with 1 other person grab 2 ashen key voyages by setting one of your own voyages down, then while your voyage is down go buy another voyage and have ur friend buy the third one. This way, you can grab 6 keys at once and then once u get to a outpost you can buy all the ashen chests there since they are all on the outpost, this is a very fast way to get a lot of dabloons which is a VERY fast way to get gold. Me and my friend made 270k gold each just by going on one run of 6 ashen chests keys which took about a hour and a half (PLEASE LIKE THIS SO EVERYONE CAN SEE)

Me and my friend were playing yesterday for the first time in a long time and we managed to snag a Tome 3 from another sloop as well having Tome 1 from our voyage. We put them both inside an ashen chest and sold it to Stitcher Jim assuming we'd simply get credited for the tomes inside, but we didn't get any of the relevant commendations, Xbox achievements, or anything. We only got doubloons for the chest. I don't know if this is intended to be this way or if we've just experienced a glitch, but I'd warn everyone to simply be careful and make sure you sell the tomes separately so you don't have the same frustrations we did.

You can sell the ritual skull for doubloons or activate the fort of the damned but you also need every flame then. Ashen chests can be opened with ashen keys that you can find on the forts or from random key master skeletons, you can sell the books for doubloons aswell. Hope this helps! :)

Yeah, the skeleton fleets are really worth it now since they have the normal loot + the ritual skulls and chests.

We had the same problem. Just keep collecting chests and you will get the tome + the chests are a good way for grinding doubloons.

How often does the skeleton ship usually spawn?
Ive been going around for ages with no luck.
Also is it possible with one man?
When 1 fort is completed the red fleet spawns and you can do it solo if you can handle 2 galleons against you.
This sucks they took out the key voyages so how do you get them now easily?
Keep your eyes out on random islands for a skeleton key master. You can also try to fish up a key.
