Who didn't love Aunt Clara? ❤️ Even Darrin treated her kindly and with respect. Marion Lorne was a wonderful actress and was dearly missed on the show after her passing.

Aunt Clara's speech to Samantha at the end makes me tear up a little. For all her stumbling and mishaps, there was nothing but confidence in the way she explained that if there was ever a time to pull it together, it was to save someone you love. Marion Lorne was such a wonderful actress.

It's interesting because--and I can't believe I'm saying this because E.M. is usually a fantastic actress--in this scene, Lorne completely out-acted her. Lorne was elevating the scene to a stunning arena of authenticity--she was real in that moment--and E.M. didn't play off that energy correctly, imo. One of Lorne's best moments on the show (and that's saying a lot, because she's had many)!
I never thought about it that way before, but it's true. Of course, Elizabeth was a phenomenal actress. I would imagine that being a good actress, she had the sense to know when to step back and let the others around her shine. She knew this was Marion's shining moment, and the best thing she could do was step back and support her.
Love conquers all. The ultimate superpower.
Aunt Clara passed the test and she still has it. We love Aunt Clara ❤
Yes this is the best performance of Aunt Clara's witchcraft outside of when Endora's powers temporarily transferred to her and before they got transferred back to Endora.
I found it very interesting to know that Aunt Clara ,in real life, actually collected door knobs!

I had an Aunt Clara but nothing like this lovely lady she was nice but was Very strict because she had been a school teacher but my Grandmother was one also and was so loving 🥰 and sure spoiled me she died when I was 5 but I sure remember her hugs and kisses you don’t forget that no matter what age you are!!🥰😇🙏

Well at any rate, Happy Belated Birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊 ❗ My husband's brother passed away early this morning 🌄 while in the hospital 🏥. He was there since Wednesday. His daughter called me on Thursday saying he was going to be discharged on Friday. We visited him on Friday and at 3:30 am he passed away.

Endora has no sympathy for Aunt Clara. Nor does the judge. Aunts Enchantra and Hagatha have some emotions. Darrin really didn't do anything. He didn't know what was going on, so it was Aunt Clara who reached deep inside and SAVED herself, out of her love for Samantha.
This is another example of BEWITCHED presenting an episode depicting Sam's love and respect for her Aunt Clara and the elderly in general.

Elizabeth loved Marion Lorne. When she was in town to film a BEWITCHED episode, she stayed in a hotel near Elizabeth's home. ❤

With fake Aunt Hagatha and fake Aunt Enchantra! We had just seen Reta Shaw and Estelle Winwood weeks before in the role, they should have been brought back for this episode. This Aunt Hagatha was too cranky.

What I couldn't stand was the fact that Darrin was always rude to Aunt Clara. He forgets that Aunt Clara is the only one in Samantha's family who cares about and likes him.

Why we all wish we had aunt Clara, I used to wish she were my aunt I would have gladly runaway from home to stay with here…hear what she says,” You wouldn’t let that happen to someone you love.” Not so Sam’s own mum… it shows who truly loves Samantha more…even Darin loves her minds her less then any other of Samantha relations.

She was. They were very close. Marion Lorne passed away after season 3 and won an Emmy posthumously for her performance, it was Elizabeth who accepted the award for her.

Was Clara Maurice's sister or Endora's?
I think Endora and the other Aunts are cousins to each other. It is not said outright on the show how they are related, but Endora mentioned that she was an only child before Arthur was born, and he's younger than the Aunts. Also, it is not unusual in some cultures for children to call their parents' cousins (those sharing common grandparents) "aunt" and "uncle" since they are "generational siblings" of their parents. ✌

I always hated that horrible flat green rug...
I think green provided decent contrast when viewed in black and white, so we saw a lot of it in the early days of color TV when a lot of people still had B&W sets. Lots of green walls too.
In antenna tv never showed up this episode. And Samantha make a good couple with Darrin York than Darrin sargent
