Be careful, I hear on a quiet night out there you can hear a grown man scream

me, Appalachian born and raised. I'm scared of those woods at night, heard too many stories, seen enough while night hiking to at least make me bring a friend or two (loaded or unloaded). Maybe I'm just superstitious, still love the mountain's freedom though.

Raised in Appalachia, no one knowing the area would do this.

Meets a guy hiking towards him who says “aren’t you scared of bumping into a serial killer?” and replies “now what are the chances of two of us running into each other?”.

oof. i'm an Appalachian native and the idea of hiking these woods after dark don't quite set right with me, lol. nope! the woods is fine during the day, but the vibe changes after the sun sets

Freaking insane...I have been listening to Missing 411 all day.....this surely is dangerous

I am from The hills and I have been in those woods at night. Yes you see something moving. Shadows really but there are Bobcat, mtn lions, bears and snakes that will kill you in these woods, never heard my name though. You just better hope the crickets don't stop chirping. Never go in alone and stay together, don't be playing jokes slipping away. It is incredibly easy to get lost in there.

    -Beware the monsters.

There's a very good evolutionary reason why humans are afraid of the dark and especially of the dark in the wilderness. Listen to your ancient ancestors.

Aaaaand that gets a 1000 on the FUCK THAT scale folks!

  • @SymbolCymbals2356

So kind of the skinwalkers to upload this video after!

  • @typer2909

in an end of the world/bugout scenario i do not fear man, i do not fear animals, i don’t even fear the dark. but the feeling that i’m being directly stared at when i know i should be alone? unimaginable

When I was a kid we used to live in a small camp of about 15 houses. There were no street lights and the local store was about a mile away. My mother used to send me to the store sometimes after the sun went down. It funny how your mind plays tricks on you at night.

  • @Lavender_dragons-paws

Tip for in the woods alone: if the birds, crickets, and other animals stop singing and chirping, that means a big predator is near! Small animals like crickets and birds won’t stop chirping for humans, but will do so for other predators.

I went on a hike last week that deliberately ended at night. I didn’t feel unsafe, but I had a distinct feeling I did not belong there. I agree with another comment that said it must be instinctive from our younger days as a species [when we had no means to protect ourselves from the things that go bump in the night.]
