I hate that so many holidays have become about overconsuming, so I'm very into the idea of making up a costume from things you already own and wear, and getting really inspired and creative. I love your looks, and of course the layering is top-notch again 🤩 We don't really do Halloween in the Netherlands, but I'm always in for a costume party. I've managed to dress up as Lara Croft and Trinity of The Matrix just by going through my wardrobe and getting the hair and make-up right

Ok so I’m in costume a lot (because I’m a performer) necklace-as-headpiece is my secret weapon 😂. I can’t always buy a new costume (because I have to make money at my job you know? Can’t buy something for every event) and you’d be shocked how far altering layers, adding different headwear, using things “wrong” or changing up the makeup can take you! Spot on tips :)
Mash-up costumes can work really well for using your wardrobe too! "Scooby Doo but punk" group costume, for example, or Link from Zelda but he's an influencer. Actually punk or apocalyptic characters can be really easy to adapt because you just need distressed layers plus some reference to the comic/movie/tv show.
I haven't bought a costume in years! Pulling fun pieces from my closet and styling them has always been my go-to! Cost friendly and eco friendly and you'll never have to worry about wearing the same exact costume as someone else

I'm doing a pirate costume by layering and pining up some skirts paired with a brown corset top and adding all sorts of belts and scarves in different areas. I did purchase an eyepatch to bring the look home but other than that it feels so good to have a costume made from things in my closet!
these are helpful tips! for your fair maiden look i would personally put the white layer under the red and it would give a more distinct vibe. this year im going full frilly black everything and just letting people take it as ghost/vampire/goth doll as they will 💀
I'm planning to be Eddie Munson my Halloweekend dnd session because I'm the dm and people pointed out that I have kind of similar hair. I bought a Hellfire Club t-shirt for it. But that kind of feels like cheating and I'd rather also do a more fantastical and femme costume, so I think I'll also be a fairy for other Halloween events. Just bought an adorable flower hat, and I made a pair of wings this summer for the ren faire. And my friend even gave me an old fairy dress from our college theater costume shop when they were working there. Also this reminded me of how fun and easy it is to just be a witch or a vampire for Halloween since you pretty much just need a single accessory (hat or fangs) and a general vibe. And I'm definitely going to have to do a ghost costume someday with my old-fashioned white nightgown because I already feel like a dead Victorian child whenever I wear it lol
obsessed with all of these omg 🤩 the vamp look and the queen of hearts were my favs! also can I just say liz, your hair is definitely a very valuable accessory and it always elevates your outfits so much!! I feel like the colour looks so cool especially with all white outfits 🤍🤍🤍

I am familiar with the green ribbon girl story, and I just gotta say: shout out to the author; I aspire to have that kind of impact with some of my creations. I’m the gorgon in your artwork lol. Also, a trick I like when trying to use makeup to create a bloody look is to use red eyeshadow (and some brown to make older looking blood) and then use clear lipgloss (maybe with a tint of red) on top to make the blood look gooey and liquid.

I definitely subscribe to this style of halloween costumes, for me the idea of trying to match one character perfectly is always pretty overwhelming and hard and I don't at all like buying new for the purpose of a one time wear. My favorites are Queen of hearts and ghost. But my favorite piece is the gold/brass wet looking top! I was thinking it also would look cool for a dark fairy or ocean witch with a flowy black skirt or dress underneat ❤

For the ghost outfit, you could also add to it by spraying something over your hair to make it more white. (Even just using dry shampoo would work)
