I’ve been doing serious weight training for 7 months now. Definitely seeing some gains but not as fast as I would like. I’ve been incredibly disciplined, as a working mom, going to the gym 4 times a week without fail. Thank you for providing a realistic timeline of 2 years to achieve the goal.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, ERIN! So valuable information, and SO NEEDED! I am already above 45 years young and found some difficulties to make clean muscle gains. Can't thank you enough! You are wonderful!!
Awesome. I do a lot of this...as far as the scale I do this: I like staying at 120, I'm female 5 feet tall and 67 and a half! I figure if I can stay somewhere around that weight and I still look "athletic lean" not shredded lean, I must be doing good! I'm not opposed to jumping to 125, but I can look stocky real fast. I don't want to be shredded, but I want to be more than "toned" for as hard as I train and watch my macros. I still want a cookie now and then at night with my tea. I never thought that kids that could be my grandchildren would compliment me at the gym. But I had a couple of teen boys wanting me to show them pull ups! as they were waiting for me to do my set! Over the top thrilled. So I gave them a few pointers and finished with, "If you walk out of the gym yaking it up like you didn't do anything, you probably didn't" they gave me a thumbs up! Really the best compliment ever. They listened! hahaha! Thank you, Erin. You look fabulous and I do a lot of your routines...I don't squat anymore, I just don't want all that weight on my back, but I love the hack squat, and I get get out from underneath it if I go to failure, I just slide out...perks to being short hahaha! Thank you again. Training hard ya'll! much love and God bless you and yours.
Yes I want a video on losing fat and gaining muscle. I am 59 years old and try to follow a keto style diet so try to keep my carbs low along with intermittent fasting for 16 hours. I am looking to drop about 12lbs but realize gaining the muscle this should not be my primary focus.
You're right 'bout the dieting, but gaining muscle at 59 is no easy feat. Even if you did focus on it, you'd trim down just from the sheer amount of exercise needed to gain any muscle. I have to focus on building muscle to even lose weight.
Try adding Clear Muscle from Muscle Tech Helps w adding Lean muscle tissue in people over 50. And preserves muscle mass. It's a unique metabolite and free-acid HMB derivative of leucine
Hi Erin, I so admire your dedication and athleticism, I have a lot of exercises in my routine that I have learned from you. As I approach menopause, losing fat is becoming harder and harder particularly around the midsection. The pooch is clinging for its dear life! 😂 I have gained muscle this year which it’s awesome (53yo for reference) and hormones are under control, but midsection is a new challenge. I would love some advise (video) on how to target that stubborn fat in general.
Hydration! ... water, water, water! When ever I make changes to my training, diet, and/or schedule...I try to manage these transitions by increasing my water consumption and being strick to a water drinking routine. Thanks for sharing these tips and "happy training in 2023"!
Very informative and interesting video, Erin! Thanks for sharing. Question... have you ever used Next Level Diet? I got a custom high-protein meal plan from them and it's really working!
Thank you for your advice. I am following your guidelines now to gain muscle. High protein intake, carbs pre and post workout, and at dinner time, carbs from vegetables. I rather gain slowly than gain dirty bulk and have to cut a lot of calories later.
I can't think of somebody else giving a better explanation how it works. You are an amazing person, so inspiring! And always so warm and with a positive mode. Thank you so much for that you exist and just being you!
This is so helpful Erin. Thank you! I am over 35 and have had one child. I see that my body does not gain muscle as it once did. I'm always working on it, though!
yeah recomp video please! I love your videos thank you for sharing your knowledge. It is really priceless for this 50 year old woman trying to get her strength back. 😘
I actually have to put on body fat as I'm suffering from hypothalamic amenorrhea. But I'm really active so even eating my maintenance (3500kcal on most days) is sooo hard. Also because I don't like feeling full... And often I don't have time for a pre workout meal. Hopefully I can still build muscle eating most calories later in the day🥺🙏🏻
Thank you Erin for such valuable information. I recently started to lift heavy weights at the gym but because I wait so long to eat, I end up overeating and gaining weight. As you suggested I will include more protein and carbs and less fat hopefully that will work. I enjoy all of your videos, you are my inspiration to train hard at the gym.
You are definitely one of the most knowledgeable trainers out there. I have seen dozens of these types of videos and have never heard of 2 things you mentioned here. There is always something new to learn about and you are usually the source of that knowledge. Thank you Erin!
I'm a 40 year old that is just starting out (eating better and exercising). I'm struggling with gut issues now after years and years of poor diet choices. I would love to build a little bit of muscle and lose a few pounds! Been binging your videos for tips and inspiration! Thank you!
Hi Erin!! Love your videos and knowledge! I know whey is the best for fast absorbing protein for the body, but the Isolate seems to upset my stomach. I am wondering if egg white protein is good for post workout protein? Thanks!
I would love to see a video for eating for recomping since this is my goal. I never get tired of your videos! I love 'em & learn so much from 'em. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us!
I have successfully gained muscle and lost fat all over but I still can’t seem to lose the last bit of fat around the abs. I am 54 years old and I hope that you can talk about how to eat to lose this stubborn fat.
Hi Erin! I’d really appreciate a video about how to figure out how much of each of the macros I should be in taking. All of your videos that I’ve watched have been a TREMENDOUS help with my gains. This is something I’ve never done before so I’m extremely excited about keeping on track and continuing to lift. Thank you for your sound advice!!!❤️
I think a video detailing how your nutrition, training and approach to fitness has changed passing 35 (you mentioned upping your protein intake) would be great!!
I am definitely interested in hearing how to eat to recomp as well as lean down. What are your thoughts on a low carb lifestyle for gaining muscle? Love your videos!!!
Hi Erin. I would love to gain muscle. I joined the gym and truely love it. I`m 57 and 10 years ago I had a stroke and last year I had a severe heart attack which caused a triple bypass surgery. To top it all they said I have diabetes. If you can give me some ideas of what I can or might eat. It would be much appreciated.
Erin, thank you for always sharing such great tips. I am new to lifting and my goal is the build muscle. I have been at it for 6 months. Starting to see some progress. I am recently started using your App and just purchased one of your books. Love watching your videos and I have learned a lot so far with you. Thank you big hugs. ❤️💪😘
Hi Erin! Thanks for the information! I appreciate how detail oriented you are when explaining things. :) I had a question, I’m unfortunately that type of person that gets super nauseous when I eat a meal (or light meal) before going to the gym. I usually drink a protein shake or have a small rice cake with peanut butter with bananas or something. Will this effect me gaining muscle because it is the first meal I’m eating to start my day and workout? I usually have a high protein + carb meal after my workout to fuel my body back. My progress is working, but is very slow results. I’m trying to lose fat but gain muscle, so I’m expected to not see fast results. Any recommendations on how to better my eating schedule and food intake? Much love xoxo!
Great tips!! So how do you suggest splitting up protein if you give yourself the biggest bolus at breakfast & dinner? Just curious! Loving your videos!
Hey Erin laureen here I like your videos especially this one about what to eat to gain muscle it would be nice to have some examples of what type of carbs to eat what carbs to stay away from and what does one pound per body weight mean? I'm 107 lbs is that 107grams of protein?not sure .
Thank you so much for sharing this great information! I would love a video on how to lean down! I'm hoping to lean down a bit more before April for a photo shoot!
Hi Erin ; thank you so much for your videos ; you’re awesome; what advice do you perhaps have for weight loss during menopause; I’ve watched your videos for a few years now and I need your help now with menopause weight gain; please help

Years it takes years and consistency
How are your gains now?

Hi Erin, I so admire your dedication and athleticism, I have a lot of exercises in my routine that I have learned from you. Try a bioidentical hormone replacement (like biote?) But it puts you back to being 38!(hope you understand) just keep lifting and low carbs.
I am 50 y/o my diet is something that I struggle with now that I'm trying to gain muscle. These tips are so helpful, thank you so much.
