Great video and as always 100% spot on with the advice. Not going to lie I definitely felt the pinch when I first bought mine, but 3 years into ownership I still think it’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made.
Would buy on in a heartbeat, but there's no way I could get it onto the back patio where all my other pits are because the side yard is gravel covered. My wife and I were barely able to get an LSG Pellet Grill with Offroad Package around the house and onto the patio.
It’s not as bad as you think. All you have to do is get a couple of sheets of 4x8 3/4” wood and put them under each other at the edge. Then move them as you get off of one. 3 of us moved mine that way and then I built a ramp to go up 3 steps and we rolled it up on the patio. 🍻
We had the same problem with restricted access to the back. We ended up having our KK craned over the house to get to the backyard and I’m so glad we did.
Jason! Welcome back and great to see you cooking on your KK again -I was interested in buying your KK a few years ago! Absolutely love my 23 Ultimate!!! Best investment I ever made. Worth every penny. Food is phenomenal.
I would like the capability to put a drip pan under the rotisserie. Also would like the ability to put things closer to the heat (a lower position grate) for searing.
It doesn’t make sense to put a drip pan under rotisserie. That defeats the purpose of doing it. That being said you might be able to do it for chicken if you left the lower grate in. As for searing, I use the half rack up top and leave the bottom grate in. You can move meat down to sear over the lump no problem. 🍻
That is an impressive and envious grill. It may be the Rolls Royce of Kamado grills, however not many people buy Rolls, people rather buy Toyota Camry or Ford F-150 instead. They do the job.
KJs and BGE aren’t exactly cheap either so it’s not that big of a stretch up. Of course it’s not marketed for the everyday buyer, but neither is Subzero and Wolf. Everyone has their fan base. 🍻
@@RumandCook I think it's a pretty big stretch up, honestly. Some people who have 1200 for a large BGE or 1500 for a joe 3 or 2500 for a big joe just don't have 6500 for a KK32 or around 10k for a KK42. Sure if you're building a new patio renovation and you're looking for the perfect kamado, the grill itself is a small % of the renovation. But anyway - If you are an enthusiast, it is worth it. I think it's more like musical instruments. If you're a piano enthusiast your dream piano is a steinway grand (or something expensive like that Yamaha, etc). If you're a guitarist it's a Martin or a Takamine or something. No offense to the Pearl Rivers and the Fenders of the world. Great musicians can make great music on all of them. Some people don't ever feel like they need to spring for the best, and others do. Nobody who ever bought a Steinway grand piano ever regretted it (from a quality standpoint).
Maybe one of these years. What would you say your capacity is on the 32? The main thing I'd like is to be able to cook a couple briskets, a couple butts, 4 racks of ribs, etc, as right now I simply can't. 1 brisket, or 2 butts, or 2 racks of ribs, etc., at least with the setup I prefer using. ,
@ What about the temperature differential though? I expect the main grate and the elevated grate would be close, but I would have thought the bottom level would be 30-50 degrees different.
Very few smokers have equal temps in all areas. I’ve never measured it but at the end of the day if it cooks at 225 or 275 it doesn’t affect much outside of cooking times. Nothing to worry about. 🍻
@@RumandCook Cool. Could be a video idea to measure the temps with a bunch of ambient probes or biscuits, since you’re the only one I know who has one lol
These look super nice, but I really don’t think KJs are hard to control at all. I’ve done many overnight briskets without any fluctuations. Obviously using good lump and good heat soaking, but never had an issue. 🤷♂️
I still use my large BGE and I still have it dialed in after over 15 years of it being my only smoker.(before I bought the KK). But my KK is a cut above.
I couldn’t click fast enough on this video!!!! The short answer is YES!!! I love mine
Hahha 🍻
I have a KK 42 for about 4 years. It’s the best cooker I’ve ever used. It’s worth double the price.
Yep for sure 🍻
Love my 42. I'm 3 years in. I'll probably still be loving it when it's 30.
@RumandCook good video Jake. I have no intention of buying this grill/smoker but I still watched this video lol.
🤣 Thanks for watching! 🍻

Yep def not cheap but worth every cent. 🍻
I have a KK 23 and it is amazing. It is so easy to use. Even though I have other cookers and a smoker, I still use this all of the time.
Yep can’t go wrong with one! 🍻

Awesome congrats! I partnered with KJ for a year and decided to bring it back. 🍻

I’d say you could do that no problem. There are 3 levels so one protein per level. 🍻

@praetorxyn wouldn’t do very well. It’s not worth worrying about. 🍻
If I ever wanted a divorce, all i have to do is have one of these delivered! lol
🤣 well at least you know, just in case hah. 🍻

I’m not saying they are hard to control, but I noticed an immediate difference when I switched to the KK. It’s even easier to lock in. 🍻
