Yeah! I’m pretty sure that all my rock knowledge comes form Minecraft and Steven Universe😂😅 But I’m love these wholesome videos people just enjoy what they do and sharing it☺️
Also, if I got a box like this, I would literally be dancing around the room like jumping from one foot to the other like an excited 5-year-old because I love rocks that much. I was sitting outside my doctor's appointment yesterday, and I couldn't help but pick rocks up from the base of the tree, because they were mutton fat jade, imperial jade, serpentine, and something absolutely gorgeous in like a pink checkered pattern! Everybody there was staring at me like a crazy person, but I was giggling gleefully to myself as I put them into my water bottle.... 😅😅😅😅😅
He went from “are you sure you want to put a noisy rock tumbler in the garage?” to “oh let’s build a rock tumbling work station complete with its own sink and space for 9 tumblers” real quick 😅
@@moonriserocks We don't have a basement or a garage, so our tumbler is in the dining room. Lol. Honestly, after it's been going for a few hours, we don't even notice it.
I love watching your unboxing videos! You two are so much fun. I've been thinking of starting to rock tumble and was waiting until Spring to order a rock tumbler. This is making it harder to wait!! Thanks, you two, for another fun video!
Just for the record Fuchsite is also called chrome mica so you did get that one right! It’s an absolutely stunning stone, mica is my favoriteeee. It’s ALL over here in the mountains in Colorado. Last week we went to the pet cemetery to see one of my bunnies and my bird before it snows and sticks up here and the whole time I kept picking up little pieces of mica and then I found a huge chunk that I couldn’t get because it was stuck in a rock in a super sketch spot and if I would have fell right there I would have gotten super hurt if not worse. People like to hurl themselves off of the mountain up there if that tells you how sketchy it is 💀 the only thing that stopped me from really trying was the fact that my husband is scared of heights and was raised in Nebraska in the flatlands so he was freaking out as I was climbing down
I was obsessed with this as a kid, but we were poor. I remember my step-grandfather's parents had a small tumbler, and they tumbled a few rocks for me. This was a good 20 years ago lol.
This was great to watch! Cool to see moss agate in it's raw form. Fiance and I haven't picked my wedding set yet. (He proposed with a dainty heirloom wedding band that was a gift from his grandfather to his grandmother.) I'm split between a cushion cut moss agate in one beautiful setting of white gold or a brilliant cut moissanite in a different beautiful setting of yellow gold. If we can afford it, may just buy both on different occasions--combined they're still less costly than practically all my friends' diamond wedding sets were when they all started getting married almost 15 years ago. They have very different looks and would go well with very different ensembles, occasions, and my mood. lol
Moss agate will look suuuuper awesome but since it's a softer stone it'll be more prone to scratching. Which might not be a big deal if you're good about taking it off in situations where it could take some damage. I feel like people should have that information and I don't trust jewelry sellers to relay that, yk? (And if you go the moissanite route, that thing will *sparkle* they're both good options)
From my experience with moss agate and tree agate they are two different stones, the white with green "speckles" is tree agate while the completely greenish blue is moss agate. Again two different stones that are commonly confused for the other. (I have worked in a crystal shop for a year or so in my hometown where we have both of these all the time). It's kinda funny that the store I work at have tumbled hematite as well.
Wow what a gift‼️ I loved how you guessed-ha, knew their names❣️I’ve just started watching your channel, I’m intrigued❗️Where on earth do you tumble these⁉️ Must make booco (much) noise 😵💫 Glad ur hubby was involved. Happy tumbling 🪨🩵🕊️

I’ve seen your shorts, truly dislike shorts btw. They always suck me in, while I wanted to watch some videos. But I sometimes don’t hate it, because it brings me to accounts like yours. You should deff post more vids of your tumbling, and process tumbling the rocks and stones. You two have amazing voice for it, and they’re entertaining and relaxing to watch. Especially the reveal videos, where you go through the stages, I just love rocks. Don’t know much about it, but I feel like I’ve learned new things already while watching your vids.
The only one I recognized was Moss Agate because my engagement ring is a moss agate, so I see it every day And the petrified wood but I dont have a fun story for why I recognized that one
@moonriserocks what do you do with all the tumbled rocks? it's a really nice hobby, but I cant imagine having tons of (pretty) rocks lying around my house :D
I’m working on a video about this right now! It’s kind of hard to explain without a visual, but brighter colors are usually the first thing I look for and then I narrow it down to rocks with a waxy type of look/feel. If it has that, then it’s likely an agate or a jasper, which are both good for tumbling. You can also look for concave parts of the rock where it was broken (conchoidal fractures). That’s another good sign!
Ive been debating getting a rock tumbler, if i have alot of rocks ive just picked up and dont know what they are, whats a good rule of thumb for tumbling rocks you dont know what they are?
Sometimes I do batches of just one thing at at a time but lately I’ve been enjoying doing more mixed batches. I just always try to keep everything around the same Mohs hardness if I’m mixing them.
I would absolutely love if I could buy one of those emeralds from you once you get them tumbled! They are actually my birthstone, and I've been looking for a decent emerald. It would mean a lot to me if you tumbled it personally, because I absolutely love your energy, and I think that having a stone from you would be very HEALING ❤😅
I know nothing about rocks but this was so much fun to watch.

The red jasper threw me for a loop too! This was great.
I love rough stone. Alex is amazing. I was just at their open house in NH yesterday and am going back today. What an awesome gift.
I wish I could have gone! I’ve never gotten to go to one but hopefully soon! 🤞

This video is was so cute and high energy. First time watching this channel, but I already love it
this is going to be the best of the best on this show.. tumble them all carefully. can't wait to see what comes of it.
When you tumble, are you typically supposed to tumble stones with similar mohs?
I cannot wait to see the emerald 😍❤
You are! Around a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale is ideal for tumbling. If I’m mixing types I always try to keep them close to 7.
