6:43 is an all-time favourite. Lining up eight plasma shots from several thousand units away, into a just-in-time weapon switch for the rocket jump, then stepping onto the ledge with all the grace of someone walking out of an elevator. (And then, crouched so as not to fall off his hard-won high ground, m1tsu goes around to look back down, presumably in astonishment.)
I remember downloading this from iT's site way back when on the ol' 56K. So much stuff ages poorly - but this one stands the test of time, a testament to the amazingly slick editing and gorgeous selection of music to go along with the ridiculous tricks. (I do miss the dancing banana too, though.)
Probably the best audio ever in a quake movie. Great song choices, mixing and ingame effects. Like a proper DJ set with someone playing quake on the same output :D
Still gives me goosebumps to this day. I still have the original video saved somewhere and the soundtrack is in my Warfork and DeathSprint 66 playlists. The spirit of trickjumping is still alive today in 2024. :)
WTF??? I had that video for like 10 years in 2 parts in 720p in my favourites quake playlist and i only find out the hd version TODAY!!! im shaking with excitment!
Damn. I havent seen this video for ages... i remember having hard copy of oreginal on my pc. It was soo cool that it has few soundracks avaliable to choose! it was first time i have seen that level of production in my life. And i still have it! dated for 2004 ;D amazing stuff.
Oh, guys! This was my teenie years favourite video, and I am very surprised seeing its being remastered! Even though I am Counter-strike guy tricks in this video are just amazing, and cut&edit is still booming nowdays (ten years earlier it was the total, absolute bomb!) Well done! And return this f****ng banana, please :)
I saw this when it was just released. Loved it then. It was uploaded to youtube. Loved it then. Re-released in 1080p, still love it. It's so perfectly edited and everytime I watch it it makes me want to play Q3 again and just go fucking nuts. The music, I think, is what makes it. Just awesome. I wish the original mix was available for download.
You missed an absolutely crucial part of the video while remastering: The dancing banana :D>-< Otherwise nice work on this, it flashed me so hard when I first saw it, one of the best Quake trickjump movies ever created!
I remeber that there have been four audio tracks and you could select them in audio properties... But this was the best... Remember that I was extracting this from the video and listen to it... Damn good times 😄
Ever since I saw this video a long time ago I always wished a game was made that specifically took advantage of tricks like this all the time for movement - maybe with the added bonus of a couple magic grappling hooks and wall running. The premise would be an FPS-like game with wizards who are loaded up with a bunch of telekinetic powers, but also damage dealing potential. The possibility of gameplay is quite diverse; there could be melee-only combat modes, soccer-type modes, CTF, team deathmatch, or even competitive tricks or obstacle courses. That's one big issue I've had with the evolution of FPS over the years, it hasn't branched out much in terms of skill-based movement. Ever since Battlefield 1942, or possibly Counter Strike, there has been an ever growing tactical and "strategic" aspect to many FPSes, rather than _only_ necessarily having good reflexes and good aim, but it would be really nice if there was some games with a ton of skill-based movement too. 2D games like Liero have done this to a degree, but it could be so much more, especially in 3 dimensions.

One of the greatest ever! Thanks for bringing it back remastered!
The best quake trick jumping movie. I remember you could watch this video over and over because it had multiple audio tracked, synced equally good. I downloaded the video from the link but it only had the original audio track. Is it possible to get the others as well? Thanks!
Man, damn this brought me back. I still have the original release and would load it up on my phone all the time just to catch the mix. I miss the days. {N}ightmare
I don't get it. After 2 or 3 rocket jumps I die because my health reached 0. How do they avoid the damage taken by their own rockets, plasmas, bfgs? That's in my experience impossible.
wusseh What do you guys do for a living? Anything related to video production? Vids like get quaked 3 got me to start doing video stuff, and i still do till this day (though more on the filming, and not so much editing anymore).
ssuuppeerrbbooyy some of us do video stuff (robo-k1ll, termi). I'm personally working in the games industry :). Glad to hear we've inspired you to some extent!
ssuuppeerrbbooyy I work in IT, I kept the creative aspect strictly as a hobby. GQ3 is a great movie to be inspired by, and it's always good to hear that people ended up taking the creative path after watching gaming movies, or Shaolin Productions movies specifically! Keep up the good work!

Even today this is giving me goosebumps. This video represents the peak of Quake culture in my eyes.
thx

This still amazes me to this day, the music/sound mixing and video so freaking good for that time...

I use to burn these videos on DVD and watch them on my TV. Haven't seen videos like these in quite awhile. Thanks for bringing back good memories.
after all these years, the intro still gives me goosebumps :)
nice quality =)
The nostalgia... I was looking for Ravenholm Re-run then saw your Quake videos and it hit me. Of course it was the same guy!
I'm happy I found this video again, it was my favorite back in the day.
I saw this when it was just released. Loved it then.
It was uploaded to youtube. Loved it then.
Re-released in 1080p, still love it.

The music, I think, is what makes it. Just awesome. I wish the original mix was available for download.

Does this need a 20 year anniversary edition with dancing bananas?
Any chance of the soundtrack mix without any other sounds? :)
