nice lake with nice fish have also been there in October had a good time beautiful fish caught with friends in March I went back alone, the digger and the wood were cleaned up and looks much nicer than on the movie have been on several French waters but here I still like to come back to barrington, s lake good food and good company and feels safe with barry around he is often at the lake because people try to steal fish I have used several branded bollies but most have been caught on barry's boilie so I have to agree with barry they are good boilies
I booked on barringtons for the last week October 2020 it was a last minute booking and then I watched this review and if I’m honest I thought I’d made a huge mistake but after my week on the lake my opinion is very different to yours , yes the lake was low but Baz can’t control the weather ,, as for the bait I took a few kilos of mainline cell and various pop ups and wafters but I also bought some of Barry’s bait and again if I’m honest I wish I’d bought more of Barry’s bait because it far out fished all my other baits that I have faith in that work in the uk ,, I think bazza has changed his sleeping habits as he wasn’t staying on the lake that week but when Baz and yve would visit we’d have a great chat , great couple . On the fish front on a 3 rod set up I had 32 runs with 26 landed 9x30s to 38.5lb the rest was mostly high 20’’and on the Thursday I didn’t fish as we went around lac der chantecoq it really is a stunning part of France ,, I can’t wait to return ,,

Im also pleased to hear barry has had a tidy up and addressed issues that i raised (as other previous guests have) I too found baz and yve very pleasant to chat with for many hours. Its just a shame that when we got there everhthing was tired and in need of some love which i believe this review help baz pull up his socks and put his heart back into the place. i truly believe he'd lost for it for a few years and let his high standards slip. Again im pleased there has been a big turn around for the venue
Samsung Carper Everything Carp related will do 👍 I fished deux iles, through angling line in 2018..... was due to go back last week, but have had to cancel. Re booked for 2021. Check out my video on here, of deux iles. Great place, with a very helpful owner definitely recommend the place 🎣👍👌
All Lakes in this area had levels lower than normal during seasons 18/19, some had levels lower than ours, we were asking people to bring waders to land fish, Andrew’s group asked to come as a group of 7 as we normally only take 6, Angling Lines Contacted us to confirm this & it was agreed that we would let them come, that was their choice, there were still choices as Andrew managed to move to 6 from the chalet swim towards the end of his stay! BTW I always stand over people with a big stick while they write their comments on the review sheet. We’ve built a new wood store, put a new a floor in the shower, fixed the Boiler(so it doesn’t go into frost protection mode during cold weather, built a composting toilet between swims 4 & 5, built a fence & moved the bin store to behind the shower block, moved the digger to where the dumper is, moved all building materials etc to the back of the shower block out of site & tidied up, the old shabby wood store has been removed! It is no longer untidy here. With Yvonne’s Mother being very ill last year with Cancer & her have travel backwards & forwards to Spain to look after her, things did get a bit out of hand, that’s all past now as my dear Mother in Law passed away in November!

We paid £250 each then food package on top that you pay cash when u arrive, i think it was €136, and it has to be in Euros also. This price included crossing aswell. Hope this helps.
Suggest you look at other reviews that are actually accurate. They caught more fish than they stated. 6 x 30lb fish, 13 x 20lb fish & t the rest were doubles which was 6! There were a couple of issues, but these were addressed before the release of this video, also the levels were 18” down last year due to the hottest summer on record & temperatures up to 41C. This group left a good review on Angling Lines website, also 2 of them caught PB’s. ACCURATE I DON’T THINK SO!
the review left on Angling lines was not done by any of our party, that barry was left by you, based on the piece of paper that you gave ben to fill in, and stood over his shoulder whilst he filled it in, bens words after filling it in 'bloody hell i felt like i had to give a good review with him breathing down my neck' nowhere have we said the place exceeded our expectations, my review of the venue is THIS video. You say the water was 18" down, give your head a wobble it was easy 2/3 foot down could have been more, again refer back to my video and you'll see how much the water is down, the deepest part of lake was belly button deep, hence the reason a party before us tried to get their money back, again we dont see these reviews on angling lines. Also you told me youve been called an 'arrogant c*nt' by previous visitors, i should imagine this is because of your 'im right your wrong' attitude . Take it on the chin Barry, make the improvements suggested by a group that has over 30 year plus experience of fishing french venues.
I would want my money bk mate not the best really. Suppose u know now to go with better lake but great vid they need tomake the lake deeper as the fish wont put much weight on in those depths anglinglines must do better lol

Strange that your review on angling lines doesn't reflect your story stating that it exceeded your expectations and 2 PB's! Fished it 5-6 times and had a lot of fish on bazza bait including 4-5 40s its a brilliant place. They have told you the water level was down and bring waders and as you said, told you on arrival swim one was closed so don't then say otherwise. The double swims are big enough as I fished all of them and even swim 7 has been made bigger with a bridge to the island so whats your issue? Shame as this kind of bad info harms people who work hard to make your stay something to look back on with a smile. Bazz does go on about his fish and his bait I give you that :-) but this is because he has 40 years experience developing and finetuning his bait and he wants you to catch! Even commenting on his logo... must be the working from home that got to you I think. Brilliant place, lovely people, great fish and facilities and great food and bait!

My friend felt as if he had to tick 'we'd come back' options with barry breathing down his neck. as for the two PBs they were caught by the lads who'd never been to france before....hardly news is it, they could of caught a 2lber and it would of been their french PB. we was not told before hand that two swims were closed. Im not sure how you can deny VIDEO footage of a venue, catch reports that show the amount of doubles and 20s. I suggest you stop fishing the same lake and broaden your french adventures, it'll open your eyes to the scrap yard that is barringtons. i will agree and did state in the video the food was good. As for everything else, it was at BEST slightly under average. how about you do a review, show us this lake that,s clean and tidy and full of water
