- Ever wonder what it’s like being a qualified Infantry Reconnaissance Operations Commander (ROC)? This should give you a pretty good idea. One thing is for sure. It’s not for the faint of heart. To succeed on the ROC Course at the Infantry School in Gagetown, New Brunswick, you need to be highly motivated, in excellent physical shape, and you need to be a team player. No one makes it through alone.
The candidates on the course are already trained and qualified in basic Reconnaissance Patroller (RP). On this course the Non-Commissioned Members learn to command a Reconnaissance Section, and the Officers acquire the skills necessary to command a Reconnaissance Platoon.
The course, which runs annually, is also open to international candidates from Allied Forces. The course has recently accepted members of the Latvian, Irish, and Australian Armed Forces which benefits training to all involved. Working with our allies in this capacity develops our interoperability, making sure that we work effectively together and maintain our readiness posture.

(We are going to war, and soon. It's all part of the WEF plan. I was in the Army from 2000 to 2011, and I genuinely believe this to be the case. Look at recent events over the last 3 months, and it certainly leans me to believe that we are)

I heard a guy who said his recce course was the hardest thing he'd done in his life. He had lost 30lbs in total, 15 just during the final exercise. Can't imagine what the advanced recce course is like
I did a survival, map and compass rope bridge and mountaineering course put on by CFB Gagetown in 1971 as a venturer for queen venture award. Lost 15 lbs in 12 days. I was the youngest at 14 on the course. Great memories

In my day, basic fieldcraft included camouflage paint on all exposed skin. Things must have changed.

You need to be in the military, do time in an infantry role, attend basic recon course do furthur time as a recon patrolman. Usually at this point you'd hit the 3-4 year mark in your career and you'd have to complete promotion courses along the way before getting looked at for it.

Thats So cool that the Aussies are teaching the Canadians their Recon techniques as the Aussies have been handed down alot of knowledge and training from The Special forces so the canadians would be pretty up there in their Recon units.

The pathfinder course was a long time ago as part of a series. Pretty sure it had a fairly large drop out. Can’t remember the detail on it but it should still be up on yt. I understand its a different course lol. They actually deleted your question?

Must be infantry by trade but it is for both NCMs and officers. They have different assessments though.
NCOs and Jr Officers. Its a leadership course for Recce Platoon Sect and Platoon commanders

We know so much about American Special Forces, but so little is out there about Canadian special units like JTF2. Canada has the true Ninjas, everything still in the shadows. (Canada also seems to attract a large number of retired SAS for some reason).

My hat is off to the men in this course.....they are truly remarkable people. That female has no place in a unit like that....even if she can physically pass the requirements. Men & women bond differently, one is not better than the other... it's just different. I was in the infantry 28 years ago and had 4 women in my platoon. They were wonderful people and I loved them dearly, but they were terrible infanteers. And they disrupted the cohesiveness. Can you imagine what what happen to them if they were ever captured....the unspeakable things the enemy would do to them.....but there you go...DEI.
Feelings are more important than combat effectiveness. Diversity is a strength. Chinese paratroopers would have a much harder time against dug in defensive positions that contain women.
I agree men and women bond differently. I always thought an idea would be to have combat arm companies that are all women instead of mixing them in . But maybe there aren't enough to do that
