how does this arrangement avoid peaking?

Fair question. It’s been a while since I did this so I don’t completely recall, but there’s not much increasing the amplitude here. The filtering on emphasizes certain frequencies, and the moving ring modulation keeps changing the spectrum that excites the filters each time through the feedback loop. Hope that helps!

Is there any reason for the chosen frequencies on the bp~ object or are they just arbitrary?

Mostly arbitrary. I stole them from the frequencies on the Zlob fixed filterbank, but, when I was messing around I tried a whole bunch of different things, including freqs from the Serge and from the Moog static filters (I wanted to choose one with relatively few bands, though, to avoid getting bogged down). I recommend trying a bunch of different things! Jaap Vink apparently had 1/3-Octave filter for his pieces.

      Deal!
Actually there's a good post by someone who already did: keestazelaar.com/music/e-pur-si-muove/
But I'll do my own in the coming weeks.

    Thx for the video!
I didn't know you could connect several signal outlets to the same signal inlet (like after the filter bank), does it sum the signals?

      Thansk for watching!
Yes. It's summing them. (Try checking it out with two [osc~]s running into a [dac~]). In programs like Reaktor you can't do that (explicitly needing the mixer or "add"), but in Pd in Max it just assumed you want to sum them.

Thank you Simon! Great job! Can I ask how do you connect several cables simultaneously? Like min 4:02

Thanks for watching! Sure. I think it changes depending on your Pd version, but I'm on 0.50-2, and I highlight the objects I want to connect to, start my wire, hold shift, then finish the connection to one of the highlighted objects. Let me know how it goes!

@@SimonHutchinson Not possible in Vanilla 0.51.3. Thank you for your answer Simon
