I find it disgusting that "children" had the balls to step in accept for a handful of people while others walked by. It just goes to show that people don't care about others just themselves.

I've heard in korea and japan people don't help others when in public due to society there's a certain way one must act in public I've heard stories from foreigners on youtube, how they were harassed and stalked and no one helped them and they said it's just how people were raised I'm not trying to make excuses but I'm from america where shootings happen everyday and it's normal for me to go in building and maybe getting shot because it's an everyday occurrence same for these korean people you get desensitized to things that are wrong
been the victim as some point. i dont necessarily blame people for walking past (i still wish they did). it doesn't necessarily mean they dont care but more of they prioritize their own safety (which isnt bad)

Wow it’s sad how many people walked by and didn’t intervene. We need more people like these students who are brave enough to help the ones in need.
It can be many reasons why they didn't sometime when somebody try to intervien the girl goes like who tf are you to speak between us ..even if he beats me who are you get lost and such kind of things then who will ..support or help the girl or a man
You currently don't know Korea. Even 10 years ago, adults helped me in that situation. However, recently there have been many situations in Korea where the man who helped was sued and the woman who was helped ran away. Such incidents have occurred often and since they appeared on the air, they no longer help women. Because helping can really ruin your life.
It's hard to take a side and it's between them, in simple words it's complicated

I don't know what other countries are like, but there is an old adage in Korea that "other people do not intervene in a fight between men and women." In fact, in Korea, there were many cases where another man who was passing by a man who was committing dating assault was accused of assault while stopping him, and a woman who was originally a victim sided with her boyfriend who beat her.
Love how older people never do anything to help others but demand respect from the younger generations.

I like how the male students respected the woman and didn't touch her anywhere in order to stand her up and just stood by their side until she got up and left. Although, it is upsetting how the other citizens noticed the situation but kept walking. It shows how children have way more compassion than adults. Bravo to the team!!

@빅맥 Yes. I would still help you. My thoughts and opinions may be very different from others because I am American, and I own a gun and can carry it with me. That man was a pure coward, but what broke my heart was all the cowards that just watched and didn't even say anything verbally to the man. I hope none of those people ever need someone to speak up or stand up for them in the future....or...maybe they should. Then, they will see how it feels to have people watch and do nothing to help them! Great job to the young folks that stepped in!

When I was in Korea, I witnessed cases of domestic violence from the window of my taxi and trust me when I say this - NOBODY batted an eye. Truly sad.
I witness it first hand behind my gostiel. The people who did help were all girls. The bar workers who open the closeted bar for the girl to escape.. and the. 2 foreigners holding him there til the cops came..both girls as well. Eventually some old men came, but it was only after he saw there were other people
It’s sad, but sometimes it takes 1 person to enoucrage people to help.. the issue is, what if he had a weapon? Or u end up hurting him and getting charged..
It would be eye-opening too if you did a version where the man is the one being bullied by their partner. It's quite interesting to see the difference of how people passing by would react.
The thing is.. men getting bullied rarely happens. The acting and the actor and actress’s physical appearance would have to be really convincing and realistic of a scenario like that.
@@sugar_plum_fairymen do get bullied, often…. There’s also a ton of social experiments in Korea as well. They usually take the shape of students bullying a male student. Now physical domestic abuse is different. It’s true it happens way less, but it’s still happens. I’ve seen a few social experiments and the people who reacted were far fewer but thankfully some still stepped up

And in most of the social experiments I’ve seen depicting that reality, it’s not realistic, that’s why people don’t help, because it doesn’t really look like the man is in need of help. The school girls must have been so scared of the abuser ☹️ Yet they bravely protected the victim and made a shield against the abuser. They’re really so fearless and courageous, wow. I would’ve been so scared too, but I’d try to help🥺
The amount of shame and embarrassment you feel when they do it in front of others, makes you feel so weak honestly. I’d just try to appease him and make him stop, I’d whisper and try to calm him it made him angrier. We had the police called a few times and I don’t think I really truly processed that it was abuse until an officer told me so. There were three of them one was very mean and cruel but the other he gave me the drive to get out. That morning he told me he’d kill me and I’m happy that I left that day…the officer telling me coincidentally that same day that this wouldn’t end well made me want to fight again. He broke me but I wanted to get out. It still hurts and for some reason when he contacts me sometimes I still feel this weird desire to go back and smooth everything over bc he says he didn’t mean it but I fight it and I stand strong. I won’t go back. I don’t know where I’d be if all those people didn’t stand up for me that day. They were terrified but they protected me and it gave me a desire to never endanger someone else’s safety bc of my stupid decisions ever again.

오해가 있으신 것 같아서 말씀드리자면
저 남성분 말의 의미를 파악하셔야 합니다
주변에서 쳐다본다는 말은 폭력을 가하는 남성이 보기 좋지 않다는 의미로 말한 거고 안 보이는 곳에서 해도 괜찮다는 말이 아닙니다
예로부터 내려오는 말로 사내자식이 여자나 때리면 못쓴다는 말이 있듯이 너가 지금 하는 행동은 아주 잘못됐다라고 함축적인 의미로 말한 겁니다
그리고 살다 보면 불의를 보는 경우가 생각보다 많은데 저 남성이든 주변에 사람이든 다 알고 있습니다
'마음만 먹으면 내가 도와줄 수 있다고...'
하지만 현실은 냉정하고 무섭습니다
학생들은 청소년 법 테두리 안에서 지켜주니 얼마든지 도와줄 수 있지만, 어른들은 각자의 가족이라던지 회사라던지 인생이 바뀔 수 있는 결정을 결코 가볍게 하지 않습니다
실제로도 불의를 보고 선뜻 도와주다 여성분이 성추행을 당했다 신고해서 결국 징역형에 처한 일이 있었고 말리는 과정에서 다툼으로 인해 오히려 폭행 가해자로 되어 벌금형에 처해지는 경우가 종종 일어납니다
선한 사마리아의 법이 있기는 하지만 대한민국에서 그런 법으로 무죄를 받는 경우는 매우 적고 점점 흉흉해지는 사회로 다들 힘든 생활을 하니 나부터 살아야 한다는 마음이 생기면서 도와주기를 꺼리는 상황이 된 겁니다

The fact that kids had to step in but not adults are truly unacceptable. We should feel sympathy to our people even if they are strangers.
It’s cause they were in big groups. People alone is more scary.. like those boys came to help became that one guy intervened.
It’s not sympathy, they themselves are scared as well. What if I get hurt? What if u get in trouble?
It really amazes me how the younger generation were more eager to help than the adults. Shows how effed up humanity is getting. But also shows hope for the future generations. If they continue to be this way and teach this to their children, the world would be a much peaceful place.

I really appreciate this social experiment, I know that more people would turn a blind eye in America, but I’m glad to know some places take this stuff seriously, it really disgusts me the amount of people who just walked by, and how many people think it’s ok to do this.
there is a big difference though in the US People have guns and carry knives. if you step in that could be it for you thats why it is best to walk by and call the police while you watch from afar especially if you are a woman
