I disagree with #9, don't touch your hair. My hair has less volume then it did when I first styled it at the beginning of the day. Because of wind, humidity, or just walking. So I have to rub my hand through my hair to get it puffy again.

Hey Robin! Great tips! You mentioned something about not touching your hair through out the day, this is kind of a problem that i personally face with every day , no matter how much product i put in my hair or how well i style it -it falls off, by the wind or naturally, so i ''have'' to touch it sometimes-restyle it with comb r hands or just put in place, and of course it turns out just awful.

    Robin,
I use water based pomade and have been following the recommendations in this video, which are very helpful.
One question: I wash my hair every other day or sometimes every 3 days. I have short/medium length hair. After I wash my hair I apply some water-based pomade, style my hair (straight back)with a brush and then with my hands, and it looks good the rest of the day. But the 2nd day, I wake up, take a shower (but don't wash my hair) I find that it's difficult to style it to make it look as good as the first day If i apply more pomade on the 2nd day my hair starts looking somewhat greasy.
What about on the 2nd or 3rd day just using a little water alone and/or some light weight gel to get some styling back in until my next shampoo and pomade application? What would you recommend
    Thanks.

Oh god, there was this one time I was prepping with my band mates for a performance and my drummer just grabbed some of my putty, put it through his hair without properly rubbing it into his hands or hair, and then put some water in his hands and ran it through his hair. I've never cringed so hard in person.

Robin how often should one apply pomade!? I've been using Shiner Gold Pomade and I'm just doing a sort of messy look with just my hands. I take a shower everyday so I'm not sure if it completely washes off or exactly how much to add the next morning (I style my hair in the morning). Hopefully this info will be useful in answering my question: how often and when should I use pomade?
I'm new to your channel and well this video I'm sure will be useful in helping me style my hair. Thanks so much for this vid and I hope you can help me answer my question. Thanks so much:D

Hey Robin, long time viewer and recent subscriber on a new TH-cam account. Love your style and attitude! Had a question concerning mistake 3, missing haircuts. How often do you personally get your haircut to maintain your look? My hairstyle is somewhat similar to yours with a tapered back and sides faded into a longer top that is combed to the side. Thanks!

I have a fine , soft hair and i went to a stylist in order to get some information about ithis kind of hair. He told me to use a cream with light hold or without hold. Also he told me to use the product on dry hair because a damp hair will make my hair softer. I know you are good in this job but i dont know what to do. Should i use the product on dump or dry hair?

    Hi Robin!
I had a question regarding what you said about gel attracting attention to your hair.
Does water based pomades do the same?
And what is the difference between wb pomade and hair gel?
    Thanks.

SpaceFetus Actually there is, water based pomade doesn't clump your hair together like hair gel. That is only if you apply it without water.

Hey, I want to get a haircut soon (I currently have an undercut/man bun length) and I'm thinking of changing it into a sort of quiff. I get more volume by styling my hair the opposite direction (left to right), but I'm not sure if I should blend the right side or disconnect it and leave some length like 1-2 inches, as opposed to 4-5 inches on the other side and the front. Any ideas on what would look better? I like the way your hair looks in this video, is it styled the opposite direction too? Because I don't get that much volume styling it the natural direction. Thanks :)

Just saw in another video your hair is styled the opposite direction, and I really like the look so I guess I should I ask what are your measurements on the top? Do they vary from sides, front, middle and back? New subscriber, really love your channel, top quality !

I'd say, go in stages. Get your hair trimmed and try the first style one way and then try the other. Take the hair off in stages so you don't go too much too quick.
My hair is fairy symmetrical but shorter on the back and longer towards the front. It comes down to about my nose.

I need advice I got my barber to put in a line so I could part my hair and comb it back but my hair wouldn't go properly in the direction I wanted it to so he had to put the razor parting in a bit further and I think it's in a bit too much and I want to change it. Would I be able to get the parting on the other side of my head of should I just grow my hair over the parting and get it redone ?

Hey Eoin! I've been there. It's tough. Growing out on the part is hard and it'll grow through a messy stage, but stick with it and get the part on the side you want.

I get my hair cut every other week because I don’t like how long it gets on the sides. Is that too often to get a hair cut
