Hey guys! This is an inside look behind closed doors at Rauh-Welt Begriff
(RWB) headquarters in Japan. Akira Nakai-San has been building what could only be described as, depending on who you ask, pieces of Porsche art here for the last 20 or so years. Located approx. 45 minutes outside of the Tokyo downtown core, HQ is comfortably established in a small residential area with strict noise constraints. That hasn't stopped Nakai-San and the family around him from building a global and cultural brand that represents much more than is left on the surface. Enjoy!

I think one things that makes rwb so special is how imperfect it is. Race the car...leave it dirty and race it again. If something breaks, repair it. Love the vibe!

Great video and tour of RWB HQ.
That Stella-2 is like the secret boss you gotta beat after clearing a racing game. Then a cameo of Nakai comes in wipes the floor off you with his Stella-2 in a drifters race. Just that, you get humbled and nobody ever beats him at all.
Anyways, RWB HQ is situated at such a humble place with unique trinkets all over the world. You can imagine the locals come in like it's a normal day to them but for the rest of us.....yeah. He's like a modern day legendary swordsmith/artisan albeit it's with cars. Quite interesting to see how the design has slowly evolved into a trademark loved by many.
I'm a bike guy but I still have love for the car scene ever since I was a runt. Guys grow up only to have bigger toys eh? Bigger toys = Tons of fun. But also = More responsibility.

@16:00 so true, we were bagging groceries at the store once and my wife left her wallet on the counter and we went home. 4 hours later she realized she left it and we went back, the employees picked it up for her and nothing was missing the money was even still in there.

Such a great video ugh. Still can't believe this is filmed on a 6D. How do you keep the video so still? Post stabilization or a gimble? Looks like you're just hand-holding it.
Thanks! Yeah, 6D and everything was shot with a 24-105L lens. It's a DJI Ronin M + post stabilization on select shots. The shots at the build however were using a glidecam, not an electronic gimbal.

My dad was putting fiberglass wheel flares, tires, wheels, suspensions on 911s back in the 70s in Florida for racing purposes...he wouldn't rivet them on they would be worked into the solid body like the styles shown in this video. And flaring out 911 Porsches started in the late 60s for race purposes. I'm not downplaying the art being produced at this shop but when guys start toting they inventing this or coined that you're gonna raise the eyebrows of some old schoolers who actually started the trend...

Renegade Motorsports in Las Vegas does V8 LS conversions into Porsche’s but I would stick with getting a custom engine from BBi Autosports that would be better built for track duty.
