So what was the reason to make the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Slovakia members of NATO in 2004? I don't remember any until 2008 "Georgia". I thought that, with the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact, NATO would cease to exist.

Actually so far, the Zelensky régime ruling a part of Ukraine, has received over half a trillion US dollars, from the western coalition against the Russian Federation. That money will never be returned to western tax payers. It was stollen by western governments from it's own people, because it was never discussed openly and approved by a public vote.
...yet, Zelensky is constantly on western tours, begging for more money from the west...and the west keeps throwing money at him...as if he can ever win against the most powerful nuclear armed country of Russia.
It's a failed strategy and very sad...the western public must get very angry with it's politicians, both left and right wing..as they are the defending the same wealthy class, which fears Russia so much, for no good sensible reason at all.

Having lived in Zimbabwe, American politics is no different. I was shocked at first now i realize no country is special.
