The Corrs had families to raise for quite some time after their heavy touring years from 1996 to 2001. After a break, they returned in 2004 for the release of BORROWED HEAVEN (2004) and an album of Irish songs called HOME (2005). Except for solo albums from Andrea and Sharon, they took about 10 years off as a group. They returned for tours associated with releases of WHITE LIGHT (2015) and JUPITER CALLING (2017). More recently, they performed in November 2022 in Australia, with plans to tour there more in 2023. They have announced a visit to the Philippines in 2023. Andrea Corr has released three solo albums: TEN FEET HIGH (2007); an album of cover songs LIFELINES (2011); and a Christmas album in with some songs released at the end of the pandemic year 2020 and the remainder of the full album in 2022. Sharon Corr released three solo albums: DREAM OF YOU (2010); THE SAME SUN (2013); and THE FOOL AND THE SCORPION (2021).
"When I'm in England, I say, I'm from Ireland. When I'm in Ireland, I say, I'm from Dublin. When I'm in Dublin, I say, I'm from Crumlin. When I'm in Crumlin, I say, Leighlin Road." Philip's own words. So, with all due respect, fuck right off mate. English me hole (as we say in Phillip's homeland).
@@PeterPhosphate I find the melody a bit cheerful, and in some way Andrea makes the song kind of... provocative or sexy? ( therefore not serious). When I was a teenager I listened to the song on my cd player - the Mtv unplugged cd - and I asked myself: why people react with whistles and sounds in the bridge ("I've spending my money...) That was because I couldn't see the performance (I didn't have the dvd) so I thought it was a kind of... ironic song? I mean what's the point of people whistling Andrea what's happening here? Like saying: 'oh this boy has broken down, poor boy, but here you have a bridge where I play the role of a sexy girl who goes to an old town'. I was messed up, even today I can't catch the meaning of the song, I'm Spanish so maybe that has to do, too.
@@LeRomSan well🤔..I think that particular crowd were merry because too much drink had been taken but Andrea was playing up to the crowd - Her behaviour was a bit provocative….it’s a great number and the Corrs version is as good as it gets but I never taught as deeply as you did about the lyrics but it can be heartbreaking to lose someone who you had deep feelings for which takes us to the heart of the composition.
Never been a Corrs fan, but this is superb. Such talent, such beauty.
RIP Phil music doesn't age

There are hundred thousands of „good singers“…..and ONE Andrea. Stop listening to her. She deserves better.

Public dont get the tragic of this song. They think is just great fun....
totally agree, I mean they're like drunk or something
It’s about a love lost 😢 but your right the crowd turned it into a happy occasion!

@@LeRomSan its about loss, grief. Its heart breaking. And the Corrs know that perfectly. Thats why their version is unsurpassable.

this song comes on atleast twice a night at work. sounds like a different singer though. cant stand it now.
l love it still different singer was only the cores that covered it from thin lizzy
Grocery store playlist
Still haunts me that the corrs chose to do this cover and then make a bollox of it
Nice song - but clearly, the composer ditched English class.
the composer was Phil Lynott, best known for beeing the lead singer of Thin Lizzy, he was Irish.
