unfortunately, it's obviously known that many japanese n korean women won't marry foreigners. but also japanese girls like to "experience" foreign men before marriage
Enjoyed the 3rd story. I was raised in a very strict, religious home as well. The guilt, shame, and judgement were unbearable. It took me a long time to throw off those shackles as well. For years wouldn't step foot in a men's club or massage parlor, I can identify with the story teller. I have no idea how I would have acted in Thailand when I was in my 20's. I've also been in the pit of despair as well. I think religious upbringing can exacerbate those feelings or elation and despair. To this day I have a love/hate relationship w religion. My ladyboy girlfriend is a very devout Buddhist and visits temples regularly. I'm very much now influenced by Taoism, Buddhism, as well as my Christian past. Had to find a new way. Buddhism calls it "the middle way."
Great stories as usual, Japanese girls are great, I spent 2 years in Japan and had the same girl most of that time. Very and very attentive, plus very cute. But I had to leave her behind.

Yes that's not hard to find any girl who works in a bar will keep you company for the day and show you around the city as long as you pay her but there are a lot of fun even though they work in the bars
Pete, great stories again. Thank you for reading them out and contributors for sending them in. France and Japan: I have never been to Japan but have worked in South Korea. Yes, they don't like their women marrying white skin. Yet, the male if he marries a white girl is a smart fella. This is my observation of these people. Your backdrop today was marvellous. Unlike back in the early 20s with broken footpaths, stalls on the narrow footpath etc. Because I haven't won Lotto yet, and I guess I never will, but new cuss words are developing. Could you do a video backdrop of Sukhumvit Road from Soi 2 onwards past Soi 4 on ?? It will remind me of my trip mid last year. Ed: spelling.
another point on story 3 - the elephant in the room. your Japanese girlfriend n her father probably weren't happy with your job back then as an English teacher working in Thailand. Asians place enormous value on a man's occupation - the ability to support a family n status in society. these factors are probably more important in Asia than in the west. if you were a brain surgeon, investment banker, lawyer or successful tech entrepreneur, her father would have welcomed you with open arms even though you weren't Japanese. yes, your race was a factor but not the only one...n possibly not the most important. i don't mean to be harsh but you placed all the blame on Japanese racism which wasn't fair (btw, I'm not Japanese). I'm happy you were able to move on with your life.
The same thing happened to me in Japan. I dated a girl for 2 years and my future mother in law met me and gave me $3000.00. She wanted me to marry her daughter. When it was time to meet my future father in law. He left the house and went drinking as soon as he was told I was on the train to meet him.2 years after we got Married he arranged to meet me. He gave me a gold Cartier lighter and a BMW motorcycle. We were good after that. Unfortunately, we divorced 4 years later. Thank God we never had children.
like Peter, I'm not a good singer. I give my best lousy performance n nobody ever asks me to sing again. besides the singing, ktvs are terrific places to meet beautiful young Asian girls. it's less seedy than thai bars because extra services aren't automatic
I would say the second story was not depressing to me as he was able to recover, keep working and enjoy vacations. It would have been tragic if he killed himself, became an alcoholic or drug addict or stopped working and became disabled street person as a result of the breakup. As far as saving money it is always advisable to have a reasonable amount withdrawn immediately from your paycheck so that you actually never see the money and hence never get used to it. That way the money accumulates and hopefully also grows based on which vehicles it is invested in and that way your retirement nest egg accumulates painlessly. Peace
1st story. I'd like to hear from other Indian viewers how they feel about being turned away from bars in Thailand. I've seen it in person and always wondered how guys felt about it. I've been turned down before, inside a bar, because she assumed my cucumber was too big! lol 2nd story: in 2024, does it really matter if i wear a red or yellow shirt anymore, in Thailand?
men from India have a bad reputation and sometimes behave in ways that are socially impolite...for example jumping the line in the supermarket oblivious to others waiting....I have accompanied India guys to clubs and there were no problem also..
@jimmy261076 spot on.... I grew up in Birmingham uk so used to lots having poor hygiene, yet never experienced it as bad as traveling around asia with Indian guys but indian women I've never noticed.
The story about the Japanese girl is rather sad. In on the other hand the story teller gave me the impression of a very slow and irresolute guy. For how many years the guy was planning stringing the girl alone? Asian people do not believe in spending years before proposing 🤷♂️

Peter this is Glenn. I have another story for you in 2003. I went to go visit Kiki and we finally made it to ko I don’t know how to spell it. Ko somoie you may have to spell proof this went snorkeling in the islands. It was absolutely dead, gorgeous. Crystal clue Bluewaters telling you I’ve never seen anything like this. You drop a coin and you watch it. Go all the way 30 feet and hit the sand the waters are so crystal clear, so I’m sitting up for my dive and I swim like a duck. I’ve got 24 inch flippers headgear and a snorkel which is 12 inches. You can’t go more than 12 because your lungs won’t push enough oxygen out your CO2 to death. Didn’t know if you knew that or not, and she don’t know how to swim. I don’t know what it is about. They don’t know how to swim the boat to antifreeze jugs with a rope in it and swims on the surface down all the way to the bottom of the ocean oh my gosh and I collect some seashells and stuff like that and I’ll porpoise back up we get back on the boat we go to another area and eat some sunflower seeds and I forgot I’m allergic to them. I swim out about 60 feet which is about. I don’t know how many meters and I trachea starts closing up and I’m bound for the ship and we sat there for like three hours and I got over my issue.
High Glen it's a shame you didn't email it to me because now it's out in a comment for everybody to see there's no point in me reading it out as it will be second-hand knowledge but thanks for letting me know anyway

another great video! i feel so bad for Paul, the guy in the 3rd story. he was still young (in his late 20s) when he met his Japanese girlfriend. however, he made 2 big mistakes. first, he brought up marriage. the woman should always ask to take the relationship to the next level since their wall is much earlier than men's. also, women dream about their wedding, marriage n children much more than men. if you have to bring up marriage, that's a strong sign she's not that into you. 2nd, you actually cried at the airport when you departed japan? it's ok for women to cry but the bar for acceptable crying for men is much higher (especially in Asia)...death of family members or close friends. men crying at the airport is a real turn off for most asian women. it's in the past for Paul. i hope other men don't do these feminine things
