2022 Ibanez AS53 Artcore Review. Purchased used on Guitar Center website for $295 with hardshell case, made in Indonesia. #guitar #ibanez #es335 #semiacoustic
Just picked the same one up of used a couple days ago. I REALLY like it. I like Ibanez a lot and glad I found a hollow body of theirs. For a cheap guitar, the fit and finish is fantastic. The neck is very comfortable and fast. I thought I'd be swapping pickups, never been keen on ceramics but find the humbuckers on the AS53 quite good and they'll probably stay in it for the time being.
Yes, I was skeptical at first but I bonded with this guitar, it sound great for what it is and I love the neck, as far as looks i think I will do few things to my taste. Thanks for watching.
You will alter the tone of that guitar if you decide to coat the satin finish as you say you want to do to the top. I bought the new PRS SE CE 24 Satin finish and it is more resonant than any of my other glossy electrics...however your call. Thanks for the review.
Thank you for the comment. And yes it did crossed my mind about polishing the top - it will probably change guitars acoustics but I think it will be minimal, and for my amateur level it probably won't mean much😄 But I think it might be tougher to resell it....most people don't like any mods.
the Japanese made Ibanez is good stuff... but their China / other cheap labor market ones, not so much... I mean for $300 what do you expect? The cases for most of my guitars cost $300.. But hey, enjoy it. Also, you can't judge a guitar by playing it at Guitar Center... the setup is always shit, the strings worn out, etc.. Try a well setup Gibson and you'll know the difference easily.
Thank you for watching. I probably forgot to mention - this guitar made in Indonesia. I see your point though, but I am just a beginner level player so I am trying to be worthy of a good instrument. It is an interesting subject though if some guitars really worth paying $3 - 5K, maybe in the future when I am better player I could tell the difference, but for now….more practice 🙂Cheers
