    You made me laugh out loud with that sinister laugh. Sort of the same as Dr. Frankenstein when his monster came to life. IT LIVES!!! LOL

    omggg thanks so muchhhh I just fixed my back patio, little gaRden, planted all kinds of things, painted my chairs in a nice aqua color, put hanging baskets, and all of the sudden, the black-brownish WASPS, and 2 Yellow jackets came!! I read that in Spring they fly solitaire looking for proterin food , not sweets, but I will try your beer sugar stuff, also they look for a spot a good place to make a nest , so I only see few flying, but I hate them, I am so scared!!! so thanks I will go buy the stuff at 99 cent store, but can you give me options if I do not have the tool to make hole, or the plastic tube any other plan B to make trap?? HELP

      You can cut a PET bottle (Coke, Water, any plastic bottle) with sharp scissors: no need for tube, the version we used at the beekeeping school only had 2 holes each on the plastic bottles, at half the height: you can cut 1 cm holes and call it a day. This year I have all three of my traps empty, but I haven't seen any wasps around, I wonder if they migrated to other villages instead... but I'll try meat as well. Last week I saw a Greek trap making company use canned fish in their traps. I think we should try that as well.

      @@feritales5756 ANY scrap meat will work!!! They are carnivorous and will really go after ANY rotten meat they can find!!!!! Once they eat or grab too much they'll fall down into the water/soap mix and quickly drown!!!! So...... try them both at the same time and count how many you catch in 24hrs!!!!!
      BET you catch AS MANY or MORE with JUST the chicken!!!!!

    People over-complicate the simplest things... get a 5 gallon bucket with a thin plastic lid at Walmart and a 2 liter plastic bottle. Cut the bottom third and the top third off the 2 litre bottle and use either third to draw a circle on the 5 gallon lid. Use a drill to drill a series of relief holes to aid in cutting a circle in the lid, then cut the hole. Put pet food, hot dog or bologna in the bottom section and float it in the 5 gallon bucket on a gallon of dishsoap water. Invert the top section and push it down into the hole you made for it in the bucket lid. Tape it if you made the hole too big. Use a little bait in the the top upside down part to get the wasps interested... tuna juice works good. Hang the bucket, or keep it low, doesnt matter. Rotting flesh is what wasps are looking for and bees will ignore it. Wasps go in but cant find the small hole they came it and drown in the trap.

    What is the ratio? You said a3 a third and a third but then you change something on the vinegar and didn’t say how much sugar to water either! Please give me accurate amounts as I need to make one of these ASAP

    • @feritales5756
      @feritales5756  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The recipe consists of 3 equal parts = 1 part beer : 1 part vinegar (10%) : 1 part sugar syrup (1:1 sugar-to-water).
      What I changed was the amount of vinegar, as I only had the 20% concentrate, so I put half the amount, but that's it.

      Haven't caught anything yet, but I have no flyovers either. Does that mean that I have exterminated all wasps last year? :_D I'm not sure, so I'll try it with meat next!

    Wasps like meat more than sugar, a small slice of bacon will catch more than all the sugar you can buy

    how do you call this "Best Wasp Trap" when it caught nothing? "Best" is a word used when you see results, untested theory is worth nothing.
