Miss Lou, Awesome job on 7mile bridge. Fantastic job Mr. Rob as chase car driver. 7mile bridge is nothing to laugh about. People dont give a hoot bout bike riders. I was stationed there in 89-92. Key West itself is bike friendly once there. Thank you for the post and enjoy your trip.
Wow that’s really cool you were based down there, it’s a lovely place (when you’re not on 7 Mile bridge on a bike 🤪). Thanks as always for the lovely words 💖💖💖
Welcome to Florida...fairly typical to have zero information about shutdowns. Kudos to Rob for running blocker formation for as long as he did. Hats of to you Lou for persevering. Get some sun, have some conch fritters and a grouper sandwich in a fun bar. Key West is not a hotbed of high intensity riding (unless you count the fear factor). Try the Green Parrot 😉
Very enlightening video. Not everything in the US runs as you would expect from a superpower. It is so disappointing that a country, which spends billions on weapons and where almost everyone drives a car twice the size of the average European car, fails to properly maintain a bicycle bridge.
Great job, Lou, and thank you to Rob for protecting Lou on 7 mile bridge. I've driven it a few times but have always wanted to do that ride but heard it's a "take your life in your hands" ride. There's an organized ride that goes from Miami to Key West over 2 days (The Smart Ride), and have thought about doing that. Not sure how protected you are, but at least they know cyclists will be on the road. Plus, drivers in FL are insane!!!
Wow that was super sketchy! Glad you're in one piece. A while ago, I actually recreated this with the magic roads on RGT cycling. Much nicer without the traffic. Interesting to see it in real life. But to not put up any signs about closed bike paths a few miles further down the road is just negligent and really quite disappointing. Someone clearly didn't give a thing. Good thing you're always backed up by your tiny rebel 🙃
Hi Lou. Now I see what you meant about the 7 mile bridge. You’re quite brave. My daughter saw the pics from yesterday’s ride and she calls you the “pink lady”. Keep treading those miles girl.
I love this comment so much. Big shout out to your daughter, send her some love from me! 💖💖💖 Next, please tell me why you’re called Disney Dad? Currently at Disney and having so much fun! 😘😘😘
@@MyLouTube lol. It’s self explanatory. I’m a Disney fanatic. Annual pass holder, license plate, coffee mugs, etc. My entire house are Disney fanatics. Glad you’re having fun there. One of my dreams is to do a Disney bike ride. Enjoy your time there. Cheers
That bridge did look kinda scary. Hopefully the cop didn't give Rob a ticket. I definitely wouldn't have rode that bridge without Rob behind me either 🤠
That looked more taxing than the "Sweltering Pain Cave" ! Valiant attempt by Rob, to watch your back. Where's LAPD when you need them ? :) At least a storm didn't suddenly appear while you were halfway across ! Valuable insight if anyone's thinking of attempting the "experience". Box "ticked off" and you're still in one piece, so well done Lou. 🎵 I Will Survive, Heh Heh 🎵
Yes it was definitely scarier than the 6 hour pain cave, even though it only lasted about 20 minutes 🤪 I really wouldn’t advise anyone to try the 7 mile bridge bike experience unless they are in a group or have a lot more guts than I do!
@@MyLouTube Quite sure you're NOT lacking in the "guts" dept Lou Just that when you're riding the "M25 On-Sea", suspended in midair, watching that you're not struck or blown by a HGV into the H2O, reckon that's "sensory overload" on the self preservation front ! Enjoy the rest of the trip 💖 :)
I would ride it in a group but not solo again. The motorists and the drop over the edge are just too scary on a windy day! Beautiful area though. Really stunning.
@@MyLouTube Oh, I'd never ride on a windy day, I'd be afraid I'd be shark food. I will have to pay attn more to your channel, and not rely on the TH-cam algorithm, so I can join you next time.
Precious drivers. They were fine. I rode because there was a bike path. What choice did we have once committed and on the bridge? That was no sign to not ride, again, there was a “bike path”. Turning around or picking me up would have been more unsafe. Interesting that you would have more concern for other drivers rather than your own wife in the same situation?! Good luck to your family, you have interesting priorities.
Kudos to you Lou, for riding across 7-mile bridge! Love Rob for watching your back! Glad you all made it to Key West!

Bit scary but fair play to Rob what a top man following you everywhere and making sure you’re all good 👍

Organised ride over it would be fantastic, do it! Totally agree on the drivers here, frightening!

That’s so cool you did it on RGT (RIP)! Definitely much safer. Enjoyed the Tiny Rebel comment haha ❤️

I bike twice a week. Cheers to Lou on biking the 7 mile bridge. Be safe and enjoy Key West
I did the Smart Ride down the keys many times. 7 mile bridge is stressful. But at least you get to see Fred.
Love Fred!!! 😍🌲❤️
Thank you Rob. Good job running interference.

No neither of us got tickets, but we’ve learned that some “bike paths” are just not safe to ride on!
you are a good guy Rob
Also, be careful of the metal grated bridges.
Glad that you made it! But having been there, I would not want to ride any of those bridges on a bike. Scary stuff!
Team Work At Its Best!
It is so typical that cyclists and pedestrians don’t get any warning about closed or incomplete paths. :(

I've ridden that. Not the most pleasant part of The Keys, but not bad. I ride it occasionally.

@@michealwhite1091 yes I wasn’t sure what I was most afraid of, sharks or motorists!!! Where are you based? Maybe we can ride sometime!
You are so brave. Glad you had an escort to keep you safe. ❤❤
Well done Lou and Rob looked a bit sketchy riding on that bridge.
Stay safe out there my friends! I really want to visit Key West!
It’s brilliant down there, just don’t travel there by bicycle 🤪
the same happened to me in Italy. scary places.
is that saddle a syncros tofino?
Glad you’re still around to tell the tale! My saddle is an Ergon.
great choice of vehicle s!
U just birthed a cycling song 14 miles to.no.where
Why would you put other drivers at risk following her like that. She didn't need to do that ride .

"promosm" 😔
Why?
FFS you just cannot hold up traffic because your wife is scared. Put the bike in the truck and drive over. Jesus Christ.
FFS American infrastructure sucks. I say that as an American.
No cars were held up, they were overtaking us both. It was also for less than 10 minutes. Might want to chill out a bit there zazzleman mate?
@@MyLouTube They were crossing the center line to get around you Truck Karen.
@zazzleman crossing the center line?! Oh god, do you think they will be ok?! Think you’ll find you’re the only Karen here mate hahaha
Lesson learned 🫤🚲
At least you can now tick it off your list 😁👍
