Please use the parking brake! When you park your car, you should first put on the parking brake, put the car into neutral, then let it roll back/forward so the weight of the car is on the parking brake. *Then* you can put on the transmission into park, and shut off the car. You want to do this because the way the transmission goes into park, it pretty much uses a hook called a parking pawl. If you only rely on the parking pawl, it will eventually snap or somehow break, damaging the transmission. At the least, put on the parking brake at all. Seeing you hop into the car and have it roll at 7:05 hurt the little mechanic in my head.
@@Hachiro honestly i've been driving for 35 years and only used parking bakes on manual transmission cars or when parked on hills. The P gear must be pretty tough as I haven't snapped one yet. But you are correct. Thats what should be done.
I love these compact 2-box vehicle. (Too bad xB and Cube are gone) Huge room inside, especially for the footprint. 6'2" person can sit almost upright and not touch the ceiling. Very versatile vehicle, affordable, great on gas, and reliability of Kia/Hyundai's small car, is on-par with Honda/Mazda. Parts are cheap and plenty (Lots of Hyundai / Kia vehicle shares bunch of components), maintenance is easy.
I have this same one, picked up on 1/1/25. Same EX, soulmate. & surf blue with black roof. Can’t get any speaker or cup holder lights to go on either. And absolutely HATE that umber color. Will look for seat covers & feel like taking black shoe polish to the umber on the doors.
@ didn’t love it from start, but only Soul left when on 12/31/24 I woke up and made up my mind that today was the day & im not going into 2025 still stressing which car to get. 4+ months of research & killing myself with fear of buying a car by myself and I just couldn’t take it anymore. Then once I got it & the more I looked at the mismatched umber to the pretty blue & black, I hated it.
Great video & I would rather buy this vehicle.
of course! As always thanks for watching!
Very detailed thanks
You are welcome!

There may be a setting for the lights. So, did you start hating the umber color after or before you bought it?

@ oh & speakers light up only when headlights are on, or left on AUTO. Barely visible if you ask me, and I turned them up to max.
I had the 2019 kia soul I will what this one.
@@Maeb0310 they are cool
Funny we do not have it here in Korea
The Soul or this model?
@MattTheCarguy both. They do no longer sell it here
@@배영근-제주도 sad! Did they replace it with anything else?
That's ironic on multiple levels
This is probably the last year of the soul
Upholstery color is too red.
Some people like, others done.
Its a frankenmobile .A love child of a SUV and a hatchback. 😂😂😂
I like that name lol
To me its not a suv unless you can get it in all wheel drive its just a car
Plenty of SUVs available with FWD.
The Kia soul is not an SUV it's a mini wagon or a hatchback
According to Kia its a crossover SUV.
